snow again!

fitfox · 24/03/2008 11:52

Mornin All

SFX - was trying not to laugh at vision of you doing major pratfall by lake!!

Well DS2 feels much better and certainly knows what chocolate tastes like now!!

QC sorry to hear about DS - hope its not that vom- bug again - apparently it can return after 8 weeks!!!! Must've been very messy to clear up on train!

Steppy how was the film? Might join you there one morning - I understand its quite good to take babies to (or am I thinking of Watermans Mum and Baby film show???)

Slng - haven't been to pubs for food but Ask is great and very family friendly!!

Oh the world is so much better since the smoking ban for enclosed spaces came in isn't it?

We went to the west country yesterday to see ma famille and the Dcs had a fab time, I had mucho Cava with big sis which was fun Got back about midnight last night

fitfox · 24/03/2008 11:54

Steppy - your egg hunt in the snow sounds fun, we did an indoor one at my sisters house. I suspect that for years to come, they will be discovering mini-eggs buried in the book cases/various places!!

mellow2 · 24/03/2008 12:03

Hi sfx,
You can come Wed morning, Thu or Fri. I'm taking my driving theory test tomorrow.

sfxmum · 24/03/2008 12:41

terrible grump here today, don't think long weekends are that good

anyway still sore from fall yesterday and I was holding dd at the time somehow she was fine but my knees and arms hurt. it was kinda funny really.

mellow thanks party postponed to next sunday which is good news for me.

have posted pics on facebook and added one to my profile of dd and her decorated eggs

SJ99 · 24/03/2008 15:18

Hello all

We have been out all day at Kew. Thought we'd go as it was really sunny but of course it snowed just as we left the house Took the opportunity to explore greenhouse walkways and aquarium for 1st time, it was really good and WARM inside, DS kept saying he was in the jungle . Headed to C&C which was packed and saw the giant rabbits, they were huge! Had lunch there and then had a lovely long walk all round, have well and truly worked off all the choc and hot cross buns now!

Too bad about the fall Sfx, will have a look at pics soon.

LOL @ Gherkin! Glad he's feeling a bit better

Foxie - glad you enjoyed your trip, must've been nice to catch up with your family

Mellow - Good luck with your test!!

sfxmum · 24/03/2008 17:09

SJ last year we had picnics in the green houses when raining good back up plan

foxie great to catch up with family

mellow best of luck for tomorrow

dh has been sleeping for most of the afternoon, badly needed imo I think he has been averaging 5hrs per night over the last week and it really shows.

am miffed I did not get to go out running but not keen on doing it in the rain/ snow my glasses get in the way, let's see about tomorrow morning.

bunyanvillas · 24/03/2008 19:23

Good evening all, belated Easter greetings and hope you all had fun. Phew! What a very hectic weekend and I am all chocolated and visitored out! Was great fun but back to porridge tomorrow. Roll on the May bank hols! Didn't make it to Kew but to be honest it is just too flipping cold, I seem to have turned into a complete ninny this winter. One of dd's little friends told me yesterday that I "have a big, fat tummy"

fitfox · 24/03/2008 20:43

Hi Bunyan

at least you have an excuse for your "big fat tummy" unlike the rest of us!!

Anyone heard from Lemonaid recently?

sfxmum · 25/03/2008 09:23

Good morning all, lovely sunshine so we are off to Kew, soon I hope.

bunyan big fat tummy allowed I think hope you are feeling well.
afaik lemonaid is due very soon.

hope little ones are all well

am relieved dd had been sleeping fine for the past week and we have not had scary dreams, long may it continue.

Kewcumber · 25/03/2008 11:02
  • vomit and snow. Then day 1 back in work - no vomit and sunshine

...bloody typical, eh?
but glad to hear ds is better...hmm, sure he hasn't learned the quivering lower lip and 'more choc choc" plea from moi?

sfx..ouch! hope you've recovered from your pratfall. so embarrassing, isn't it?

foxie, glad you had a nice time at your sis. no the saturday morningh is the kids' club, (which you're welcome to come with any time, of course!) think the mother & baby thing is on tuesdays in richmond, but, yes, they have them at waterman's too. not sure if it goes up to 'mobile" babies, tho.

how's the hols going? must say, it seemed strange the little fellas going back to school today.

have just been blown out for drinks at some trendy bar in soho..
oh god, the relief...

have a good one everyone
toodlepip

rosisdreamingofchocolate · 25/03/2008 13:47

Hi all,

Mellow, fingers crossed for your test!

Kew - sorry to hear about ds, glad he's better though

We've been out & about all weekend really, though to indoor places rather than Kew! And we went to ILs on Sunday where ds tasted his first easter egg & had a huge tantrum when we said he'd had enough so that was a quick exit from us!

Has anyone been to childsplay recently? We were there over the weekend & they're doing some big changes. No entry fee but you're not allowed to take your own food & drink anymore, plus it will close at 1.30pm and no longer open Sundays! And the middle play room has been shut. Apparently they've been losing money so they're hoping this will help save it.

Anyway, hope you're all ok!

Kewcumber · 25/03/2008 13:51

gosh surprised to hear about changes at CPC - hopw is removing entry fee going to help them save money (and what are they going to do with the middle room? Do you mean the big hall? If so shame as DS liked chasing around on their cars.

I never went on Sundays or took my own food but closing at 1.30pm presumably to save staff costs. Maybe they're planning to do more parties in the afternoon.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 25/03/2008 13:52

CM's kids started their hols toady so presumably foxie's are off now too.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 25/03/2008 13:52

sorry Steppie - must stop calling you "toady" [grin[

OP posts:
rosisdreamingofchocolate · 25/03/2008 13:55

not the big hall, but the room on the right between the kitchen & the very end one. I guess they're hoping to make money on the food, encourage more people in with no entry fee, & you can still hire it in the afternoons for parties etc. Apparently they have to have 4 members of staff on and this is what costs the most money.

Kewcumber · 25/03/2008 13:58

I'd probably go more without the entrance fee in bad weather. Their lunches are quite reasonable and healthy and their lattes are good.

SJ99 · 25/03/2008 14:48

Hello all, hope you are all doing well

Had a good morning out and about with some friends. It may be sunny outside but it's still very cold.

DS also has his 1st Easter egg on Sunday, I gave him half the egg and removed the button innards (he can have those another day, mean mummy) but the look of sheer delight when eating his egg was priceless, awww

sfxmum · 25/03/2008 14:57

oh it was so cold outside dd gave up at after a while and asked to come home.

I'm afraid here, there was no moderation whatsoever regarding chocolate eggs, but then again she did not want the leftovers yesterday and there is still chocolate about

I am so pleased I managed to keep up to date with studying and feel prepared for the tutorial on Thursday always a plus lets see about writing essay really hate that and end up on last minute mad rush.

mellow2 · 25/03/2008 14:59

Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

I passed my theory test.

Now I just have to pass my practical in May. [worried]

Foxie,
I've texted you.

SJ99 · 25/03/2008 15:03

That's great news Mellow, well done

Good luck for your essay writing & tutorial on Thurs Sfx.

I just rang up a pre-school to arrange a visit and was told their waiting list runs til 2010 By which point DS would've started school anyway...

mellow2 · 25/03/2008 15:05

Thanks SJ.

Which pre-school did u ring? It must be a top school.

mellow2 · 25/03/2008 15:08

sfx,
You do get more out of classes when you done the prep work. Enjoy your tutorial.

SJ99 · 25/03/2008 15:09

It was one in Teddington, I guess it must be very good/popular. I'm just going through the CIS list of nurseries for the areas that we'd like to move to.
