How exciting to be starting thread

Yay, thanks Sfx, am already looking forward to banana bread, mmmm!

In Sweden they had Noise Police (everything is so formally governed over there) but what a great idea, they used to go and put a stop the noise polluters, no messing.

beautiful day wasn;t it

Managed to get DS asleep in his cot at 8pm first time in about 2 months but I did have to start bedtime routine at 6.30 to get there. And probably means he's going to wake up at about 11pm thinking it was just a nap.

Did the Toff/Chav quiz on another thread and I am 18% toff (descrbed as VIcky Pollard!) but did the chav and am only 13% chav! Guess that other 69% is just ordinary!

(COV on the other hand was about 324% toff IIRC - ther's really no hope for me...)

Paddlechick666 · 10/02/2008 08:40

morning all

good to see you yesterday kew, it was a beautiful afternoon. took nearly an hour to get back home tho traffic jams every which way.

felt dreadful last night so kicked friend out at 9pm after dinner and went to bed! feel better this morning but still not 100%

got a crowd for lunch today so busy tidying up (aka shoving everything into cupboards and out of the way!).

dried mud all thru the house to hoover up next. i am somewhat and that I have to use my hoover, it's for my cleaner not me!

hope everyone else is enjoying the lovely weather.

sfxmum · 10/02/2008 10:31

rosmerta · 10/02/2008 10:45

Hi all,

Sj, glad the molars don't seem to be bothering minisj too much. I think ds's ones are also starting to come through, he's been a bit grumpy & cuddly the last couple of days.

Hope everyone else is ok, anyone heard from Foxie about ds2? Bit worried now, hope he's ok.

Been a busy weekend, dh's family were over yesterday so had to do lunch. Not up to COV's standards of course but everyone seemed to like it - don't think you can go wrong with cold meat, cheese, salad & baguettes!

Dh & ds have gone off today to see his parents as I have left my studies, as usual, to the last minute (tutorial tomorrow)!

Paddlechick666 · 10/02/2008 11:13

feel dreadful again. i swear my head is going to explode, worse when i bend down.

cannot face tidying dd's room before visitors come. too much bending down. friends are ultra-tidy people tho and they will prob be very

dd is being a complete PITA, standing next to me and yelling at the top of her voice. trashing everythign in sight etc etc.

i just want to sit very very very still in complete silence.

rosmerta · 10/02/2008 13:02

Paddle, hope you feel better soon. Shame you can't postpone your friends, guess the last thing you feel like doing is entertaining.

SJ99 · 10/02/2008 14:32

Hi all

Hope you're not coming down with anything PC, hope you feel better soon

Been to Kew all morning and for walk down by river, so lovely and warm Great day for a jog Sfx, well done!

Ros - good luck with tutorial and hope DS molars don't cause to much pain. DS hasn't really been himself during the day. He does his best to enjoy himself but he too is bit more grumpy and clingy than usual. He has taken to waking up at 6am for past 3 days and is only able to nap in pushchair but as weather is so nice we've been making the most of it and going to the pub while he sleeps

Hope all enjoying the weekend so far

Ohhh PC, sorry to hear you are under the weather, hope you are dosing yourself up. How's everyone else? Would anyone like to meet up this week?

C&C was the usual zoo yesterday but dh did all the toddler wrangling while I read my magazine outside in the sun

Paddlechick666 · 11/02/2008 09:03

Morning all
Had a lovely day with old friends yesterday.
Hot shower last night helped but head still pounding.
Off to the city now tho.
Bloody neighbours banged on my floor yesterday when the kids were playing. At 2pm ffs!
And they woke me and dd at 6am coughing their lungs up!

SushiMummy · 11/02/2008 14:39

Hello everyone.

A bit quiet today.

Hope everyone is well/on the mend.

QC - DH told me he bumped into you this morning. Did he appear stressed? He had a bit of a tough time with DS this morning. (So he says.)

ComeOVeneer · 11/02/2008 14:55

Hi all. What fab weather we are having atm. Have been out and about as much as possible. Hope it lasts. Hope everyone is well/on the mend. I see Foxie has been absent a while. Does anyone know how ds2 is doing?

Potty training is still the biggest feature in our lives atm. It seems to be slowly getting better, but I think it will be a long journey.

I am planning a mass baking session tomorrow afternoon as we have a school cake sale for valentine's day. Plus am trying to work out the menu for valentines night. I have to venture into Kingston to, to try and source out some very large pieces of card on which to draw a huge easterr bunny for a fundraiser at school. It is my own fault for becoming chair of pta I know. At least it keeps me out of trouble.

Catch you later.

Kewcumber · 11/02/2008 15:11

he might have been stressed, Sushi - but DS wasn't - he was far too interested in the trains!

Kewcumber · 11/02/2008 15:12

PAddle - would you like us to buy DD some tap shoes for her next birthday? evil

Paddlechick666 · 11/02/2008 15:16

now, i'm not usually a vindictive person but.......

yes please!!!

Kewcumber · 11/02/2008 15:27

so what is the valentine menu Cov? Think mine will be tesco value shepherds pie

I once got a fax from Bosnia for Valentines day... you get used to not celebrating stuff once you've spent a few years with an army man!

ComeOVeneer · 11/02/2008 15:32

Just finished sussing it out Kew. I think I will be making

Starter - Mushroom and gruyere souffles
Main - Fillet steak with a red wine reductions on a bed of wilted spinach with crispy shallots and creamed horseradish mash
Palate cleanser - vodka and grapefruit granita
Dessert - Espresso pannacotta with dark chocolate sauce.

sfxmum · 11/02/2008 15:35

hello all spent ages walking about lovely weather.
at the dd fell in the playground and has a huge bruise on her forehead now being spoiled with choc rice krispies cakes she made with dh yesterday.

deffo tap shoes and invest in boom box

hope everyone ok

Kewcumber · 11/02/2008 15:35

Can I order some?

On the upside - army types do tend to be quite.... umm.... fit. And desperate by the time you see them

sfxmum · 11/02/2008 15:37

meant to write in the end dd fell

cov lovely menu

we are just too mean and don't celebrate Valentines at all ever

Kewcumber · 11/02/2008 15:41

Slng - Gong Xi Fa Cai! (hope thats a reasonable transliteration)

SJ99 · 11/02/2008 15:41

LOL - QC

COV have you ever thought about entering Masterchef? Menu sounds delish. I think I will raid Waitrose for Valentine meal I do love cooking but nice not to have to cook once in a while

What to do with a tired, grumpy, clingy toddler? Those teeth are giving DS a hard time

Poor mini-sfx - nice to be consoled by rice crispie cake!

Happy New Year slng

OP posts:
ComeOVeneer · 11/02/2008 15:42

We don't really celebrate valentines in any big way, although dh occasionally surprises me with a flower delivery or a lovely little piece of jewellery. But usually we exchange cards, and I indulge in my love of cooking and dh in his love of eating (a match made in heaven I guess you could say ).

Also making 48 white chocolate frosted cupcakes topped with pink icing roses, and cellophane wrapped bags of mint/white/pink peppermint cream hearts, for the school sale.

ComeOVeneer · 11/02/2008 15:43

I meant to ask, are you lot (Richmond) on half term this week or next? We are next week and I was wondering if anyone has anything planned meet up wise?
