How exciting to be starting thread

Yay, thanks Sfx, am already looking forward to banana bread, mmmm!

In Sweden they had Noise Police (everything is so formally governed over there) but what a great idea, they used to go and put a stop the noise polluters, no messing.

quick question - does anyone know if the Boots in Chiswick or Sheen is big enough for a Clarins and Chanel counter?
have vouchers to spend and can't be bothered going to Kingston
TIA

rosmerta · 07/02/2008 17:54

Sfx, don't know about Sheen but I'm pretty certain Chiswick doesn't have one, quite a small shop. Ealing might do.

Sj, glad ds not too bad

SJ99 · 07/02/2008 18:03

Thanks. He woke up all smiles from his nap, fever gone and mega appetitie has returned after just grazing for past 3wks. He asked to eat nan bread, he's a convert now .

Mrs R - have sent you an email, we're deffo keen to stay in the caravan if it's available, thanks

Sfx - Richmond HOF has Clarins counter, lucky you! Do you know what you're going buy? Can also recommend the Music bugs, the woman was really good and had great props. Only reason we didn't enrol this term is because of the early start and the later class is full of under 1's

should've said nana bread

sfxmum · 07/02/2008 18:08

thanks ros and SJ but my vouchers are for Boots so must pop to Kingston I think

dd likes when I say it is curry but doesn't actually eat it just loves the bread or pompadoms, have put a stop to it and calling it butternut squash sauce with rice
since squash is her favourite new food

sfxmum · 07/02/2008 18:11

and my little cousin gave birth to a little girl last night a very fast second birth lucky woman

rosmerta · 07/02/2008 19:01

congratulations to your cousin! Hope they're both doing well

My (untested) theory is that the 2nd birth is always quicker because you know what's going on! No doubt someone will be along soon to prove me wrong

MrsRecycle · 07/02/2008 20:34

oh sj - glad he is all okay - I was worried.

sfx - am of your KewG walk - wish I wasn't working. Congrats to your cousin and her dd.

sfxmum · 08/02/2008 09:02

good morning all, hope LOs are well today

cousin and child fine afaik she is only 30 and has a 10yr old already but they decided it was time for a 2nd baby

well I managed to go out this morning, the first time this year for an early morning jog by the river, so much better than the uninspiring effort on the road

we are going to Kew again today at some point, far too pretty a day to stay indoors. anyone?

Kewcumber · 08/02/2008 15:16

I'm around all day tomorrow if anyone wants to meet. Is the forecast as good for tomorrow as today?

How's foxcub, foxie?

Paddlechick666 · 08/02/2008 15:20

forecast more of the same tomorrow and sunday.

got a tesco deliver first thing but am thinking kew in the pm.

dd appears over her week of illness, at least her nappies seem to be returning to normal altho the 5am waking is still happening

how's ds2 foxie?

BigGitDad · 08/02/2008 16:04

(Hi Kew, hope you enjoyed the win last week, I was made to suffer watching the game with dd godfather, a devout Welsh rugby fan..sob...'Til next year..)

ComeOVeneer · 08/02/2008 17:34

SFX congratulations to your cousin.

Foxie, how is ds2 doing?

Padlle pleassed to hear dd is well on the mend.

Ros I am enjoying the book so far (only managed a couple of chapters). I hope it isn't a tear jerker like the last one I read (since I don't have you).

Today has been moderately (sp) more sucessful on the toilet training front. Only one accident and that was in the park (despite me asking him a few mins earlier if he needed to wee), but that is still with me taking him virtually hourly, he is yet to ask/go himself. Oh well!

We are off out with friends tomorrow night for dinner as a joint celebration of my and dh's birthdays, and a farewell to afriend who is off to Canada for a 6 month surgery rotation. The children are at IL's and we will stay there too so we can have lunch with them then tea with all the family for the birthday celebrations to continue.

I am longing for a weekend with no plans, so we can veg/sort the garaage, spend time just the 4 of us without hosting meals or driving all over the place.

SJ99 · 08/02/2008 18:06

Hello all

Congrats to your cousin Sfx. How was Kew?

Hope you enjoy b'day wkend Cov and get a minute to yourself at some point

No news from Foxie?

Hectic day but fun day, swimming followed by 20min power nap so we headed down to park all afternoon. Despite using up tons of energy, DS had virtually no appetite today. I can see a huge bulge in the back of his mouth, molar must be close to breaking through hopefully.

Looking fwd to Dh coming home tonight, no plans for wkend but would like to head to Kew at some point, feels like ages since I last went and am keen to see some daffodils if they're out

thanks for the sympathy SJ it was ok really she just run out of the toilets screaming after refusing to rinse her hands then run around the main part shouting, then stopped shouting but kept running around until she was spent - bless her

she is about to go to bed, much earlier than usual

bunyanvillas · 08/02/2008 21:28

SFX we, too, had a tantrumy (sic) time at C&C today! Didn't spot you guys, what a shame. Was very happy to finally escape the place and get out for a walk! SJ, enjoy it at the weekend - the crocuses (croci?) are out en masse and look wonderful.

Paddlechick666 · 09/02/2008 07:08

why do i wake up at the crack of dawn when the child sleeps in?

well, i say sleeps in i mean doesn't wake at 5am!

i think kew for us later.......

sfxmum · 09/02/2008 08:17

paddle tis ever the case - hope neighbours are quiet too

SJ hope molars didn't trouble you last night
the crocuses snowdrops and daffodils are out super gorgeous and lots of birds nesting too.

bunyan - sorry I missed you we were there from 11.30 but at C&C only from 2.45 or so

hope you are all well and have a nice day

SJ99 · 09/02/2008 09:55

Morning all

Lovely day again. Just back from gym and now DH taken DS out so will have nice leisurely shower as opposed to speed showers I have in the week

Thanks for all flower reports, can't wait to see them! I think we might head there tomorrow.

PC - maybe you can have power nap later when DD goes for snooze?

Sfx - molars don't seem to cause any problem during the nights (touch wood it continues), it's just in the day he's not quite been himself for past few weeks and doesn't really want to eat much. Oh well I'm sure it will sort itself out soon enough

Paddlechick666 · 09/02/2008 10:22

well, we are off to a very slow start here.

dd has trashed the house, i've tidied it, she's trashed it, i've tidied it, she's trashed it ad nauseum!

i am still in my pj's and the tesco man hasn't been yet. should i shower or wait - decisions decisions!

on the poo front we have gone from one extreme to the other. green pebbles instead of slush now! sorry if TMI!!
