How exciting to be starting thread

Yay, thanks Sfx, am already looking forward to banana bread, mmmm!

In Sweden they had Noise Police (everything is so formally governed over there) but what a great idea, they used to go and put a stop the noise polluters, no messing.

SJ

well, people always thought ds1 was a girl (mind you, he did have long blond ringlets...)
and people often think dd is a boy even when - cover your ears paddle and sfx - she is dressed in HEAD-TO-TOE PINK.
does tend to be men mostly, though.

fitfox · 23/01/2008 17:15

If he has "heart" then he still might be mistaken for a girl (many of whom have totoos nowadays)

I think millwall would be a better bet

stepfordwife · 23/01/2008 17:15

oh, and on the odd occasion, people think ds2 is a girl, due to his long hair.
but he's such a BOY, that's not very often

fitfox · 23/01/2008 17:16

When the HV came round after Monti was born, she exclaimed "oh how lovely - two girls and then a boy!"

DS1 is NOT a girl!

stepfordwife · 23/01/2008 17:18

sums up HVs really...

stepfordwife · 23/01/2008 17:21

..actualkly take that back. my current HV (who i never see) is fab. shares the same 2nd generation irish background and holidays spent on uncles' pig farms as me

stepfordwife · 23/01/2008 17:29

really sad about heath ledger, eh?
only 28 and got that lovely 2-year-old duaghter

sfxmum · 23/01/2008 18:20

hello all

Kewcumber many congratulations yet it feels he was always here

Bunyan I was at C&C at closing yesterday, I can't remember what you look like sorry, you need to get on the list then with moby number we could have gone for coffee
btw will consider delivery

SJ there is a sort of noise police from environmental health noise pollution section or something, but I don't think it is very British to call them shame really

Ros - yes I feel your pain, dd drove me mad yesterday as it took nearly 2hrs to get dressed and out of the door by which time I had lost the will to live and had sent dh a text mainly with swear words anyway the day was good in the end.

about the pushchair I have been using my bigger one mainly because there is a sort of buggy bard at the back and she can ride on it.

HV? am I supposed to have one? not seen anyone since dd was months old.

Tumble tots today was ok dd was a little rebel
'no I don't want to do that the trampoline is much more fun thank you go away now'
well assertiveness not a problem then

ComeOVeneer · 23/01/2008 18:34

Hi all. I wondered where you had all gone, just though old thread was very quiet. All preety quiet here. DS at nursery and dd at school, so had a pottering kind of day. But I did test drive a fab new car (well a second hand but new to me). I have booked dh in to try it out on sat and if he likes it we will get it!!

sfxmum · 23/01/2008 19:11

it is always especially sad when young people die, was reading online paper earlier, which was reporting that some loony church is going to picket his funeral 'Burn in hell fag' etc
on account of that movie

think they are the same who picket American soldier who die in Iraq
speaking of which watched a documentary last night on More4 about the start of the present war - weeping and raging seem adequate.

on a slightly less depressing note does anyone want to go to Lollipop tomorrow? or anywhere else? not sure what to do yet.

SJ99 · 23/01/2008 20:45

Yep, it is sad that he died so young and leaves behind his daughter

Sfx - I'd like to meet but will have to confirm tom as have to take DS for his hospital check up in the morning. Not sure when that will finish or if/when he will nap, best if I just give you a buzz after apptmt to make plans. Go ahead if you want to go to Lollipop though, please don't wait for me as not likely to be free until afternoon anyway.

COV - what car are you testing? What happened to cycling everywhere???!

bunyanvillas · 23/01/2008 20:52

Hmm, SFX - what is "the list"? You might have recognised me, I generally look like a faintly hassled, bespectacled old bag I didn't brave C&C as I knew it was almost too late so we just had a pathetic ramble around, a run on the green and then back to the car! Not around tomorrow but next week would be good for a meet-up ...

sfxmum · 23/01/2008 21:02

SJ I have to be in until about 11 so will be leaving only sometime after

Bunyan I mean the list of addresses and phone numbers of everyone for easier contact you can add yours if you want KC started that

sfxmum · 23/01/2008 21:05

bunyanvillas · 23/01/2008 21:08

Oi KC, where is "THE LIST"?

sfxmum · 23/01/2008 21:14
