How exciting to be starting thread

Yay, thanks Sfx, am already looking forward to banana bread, mmmm!

In Sweden they had Noise Police (everything is so formally governed over there) but what a great idea, they used to go and put a stop the noise polluters, no messing.

Did you not know about it? Surely you should have been asked if you minded. Hang on I will find it and link.

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2008 17:20

Here. Nothing suspect about it (actually a rather dull little piece really ) but I personally would have asked you if you were comfortable having it put on there.

fitfox · 06/02/2008 17:21

OMG am feeling a bit

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2008 17:24

Do you know who put it on? If you are bothered can you contact them and ask them to remove it, or I think you can contact you tube directly.

fitfox · 06/02/2008 17:40

Oh thanks - just watched it. Its Kittywits from my post natal thread so its OK . I thought maybe someone had filmed me in a public place and put it on Youtube!!

That was our Brighton meet up and I now remember being folmed on Kitty's moby.

God I look like an auld witch though don't I?

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2008 17:43

It was posted on a thread today.

Quick question for you. If it was in public on someone's moby how on earth do you think I would have found it? OK I have a confession to make, I trawl through youtube searching for bfing

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2008 17:44

I though when you posted OMG, you had seen it from my link below (now realise obviously it was to quick a response) so hence the reason I said about getting it removed.

slng · 06/02/2008 18:16

Ds1 and Ds2 and me have just demolished a chinese new year's eve grand (or not so grand since cooked in 1/2 hour) family union dinner for three healthy grown-ups! All in under 25 minutes! We are gluttons in this house. I was hoping for leftovers for tomorrow ...

fitfox · 06/02/2008 18:58

CoV - LOL - yes that's why I was a bit freaked out!!

Err which thread was it on then?

SJ99 · 06/02/2008 19:16

Foxie - Fame at last eh? Good luck with interview if you do decide to go ahead. It might be worth going just to see if you would even like it there and like the job, company etc. Can't knock til you try it, and there's the prospect of the lovely big house [getting carried away emoticon]

Mrs R - thanks for looking into opening dates for caravan, best run it by DH tonight then

Cov - not sure what to suggest other than maybe try again in a few weeks time, it might go better then

Slng - glad you all enjoyed your fest. Am not so hungry today, didn't sleep so well and bit of headache. Hopefully it will pass soon, will just veg out now and try and finish Kite Runner (there are some merits to DH being away )

OP posts:
sfxmum · 06/02/2008 19:22

slng - that sounds tasty

SJ hope all goes well tomorrow

am not sure I will read the Kite Runner as both dh and my sister felt it was disappointing.
have a huge stack of books to read.

paddle hope evening ok and your mum not making crazy

hope everyone has a quiet evening, I will try and read then go to bed at a reasonable time see if I can pop out for a jg in the morning.

might do Kew tomorrow dd needs proper running around I think

sfxmum · 06/02/2008 19:23

sorry COV no advice on ds but from all I have seen/ heard they only do it when they are good and ready whenever that may be - best of luck

fitfox · 06/02/2008 19:33

sfx - The Kite Runner is wonderful - honestly. Its my all time fave book. I think you would love it! Have you got a copy?

sfxmum · 06/02/2008 19:43

I do yes, but since their 'review' it was put on 'to be read someday' rather than 'to be read next'

they liked it but not as much as expected, I think my sister felt it was predictable.

next I have The book thief by Markus Zusak and Blood River (non fiction) by Tim Butcher.
am still reading The Lay of the land and really enjoying it

fitfox · 06/02/2008 19:56

The Book Thief sounds interesting

bunyanvillas · 06/02/2008 20:40

Cov, how long have you been training for? I remember, after a similar week with dd thinking "right, that's it, if things haven't improved by tomorrow then we'll just let it go for a while" - and then suddenly she just "got it". So is there a trip to Rye in the offing? And a caravan for me to move into Rye is lovely - dh and I went there a few years ago and one night we were having a pizza in a modest little pizzeria - and who should stroll in but Paul McCartney & Heather Mills!

SJ99 · 06/02/2008 21:48

Bunyan = Friend of the stars

Just finshed reading the book, I really enjoyed it. Also have a backlog of books to get through, at least I'm making some progress while DH away. Will choose some non-fiction next, maybe John Peel's autobiography, as the last 3 books I've read have been emotional novels

Thanks Sfx. Will head to bed soon as not feeling great. Enjoy your jog in the morning.

Good night all

SJ - which book have you just finished

Hi everyone -

ComeOVeneer · 07/02/2008 09:56

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I know he will get there eventually. It is just dd was a breeze. This morning I got him onto the toilet first thing, and he sat there for a few minutes, nothing. So I got him dressed and went down for breakfast. Whilst I was preparing breakfast he did a huge wee on the living room floor (although I didn't show him I was). It is like he is doing it unpurpose. We are getting through at least 5 pairs of trousers a day. I am going to have to buy some more as with washing and drying times I am running out of both pants and trousers.

I guess this is a positive in terms of not having a 3rd, once he is sorted I necer have to do this again .

Foxie how is ds2 doing this morning? Hope everyone is well too.

I have just finished reading "Since I don't have you" by Louise Candlish (made me cry so many times). Last night I started "Marshmallows for breakfast" by Dorothy Koomson. (I am so behind on my reading, but am trying to catch up before the pile on my bedside table reaches the ceiling (or falls over, whichever happens first).

Todays excitement is clearing out my wardrobe and charity shop runs. If i haven't worn it for a year it is gone(apart from smart stuff I still get to use once in a blue moon if dh takes me somewhere "nice").

Catch you all later.

sfxmum · 07/02/2008 10:40

good morning all

hope all LO are ok today

dh switched off my alarm because 'I heard you were up during the night with dd and I thought you needed the rest'
bless his good intentions but really was counting on it to get me up. I did manage to smile and say thanks will talk later when I feel calmer about it.

bunyan presumably before acrimonious split
hope you are feeling ok not long till the big day now I guess

cov - it is trying, but they do eventually get it as you know.
am inspired to go through my wardrobe, maybe at weekend when dh&dd are away, have quite a few things which need throwing in the bin.

hi everyone else hope you are ok, must get dd out of the house before I loose the will to move. might have to resort to bribery

MrsRecycle · 07/02/2008 11:59

argh that's nice of dh but I know what you mean about good intentions.

bunyan - PMcC et al have often been spotted in the shops around Camber. In fact I know where he lives (although never personally been invited there )

foxie - I've sent the medicine - I've put in the amount (2.5) I looked at ds' charts and used his weight at 47 weeks to guess your ds (I know he might be a bit more but, the 2.5 will cover this as well). Hope you had a better night last night. Will reply to your text a bit later (or might email you).

Had a nightmare morning - AP fainted on me (AF time) so had to take LOs to school. CM is going out tonight so AP was meant to have ds after school but I don't want to leave him in case it happens again. So I've had to ask a neighbour to look after him - isn't that good of her (mind you she was all excited to have a baby again). And work is just manic - at least I'm not in tomorrow (mil's graduation ceremony in Brighton).

COV sorry to hear about the potty training - have you tried one of those "throne" ones that plays a tune when they do a wee in it. It worked for my df's ds. I had a terrible year with dd1 - she was brilliant at the wee's but I used to find little pebbles scattered around the house. It took a year and chocolate bribery for it to work.

rosmerta · 07/02/2008 12:03

Hi all, have just got back from Tumble Tots!

Cov, I've just read Marshmellows for Breakfast, you'll have to let me know what you think! Am currently (trying) to read The Soldier's Return by Melvyn Bragg for my book club, still have a week to go at least. Have read the Kite Runner & really enjoyed it, glad I stuck with it.

Foxie, is ds2 feeling any better?

SJ99 · 07/02/2008 14:30

Hello all

Back from hospital now, all went well. DS has mild fever but otherwise was fine so they said we could go home. Poor thing was exhausted and fell asleep as soon as we got back, I just have to keep an eye on him to check his fever doesn't worsen.

How's it going today Foxie? Had just finished reading Kite Runner

Mrs R - can't believe AP fainted due to AF, is that a regular occurance? Lucky your neighbour can help out. LOL at potty throne

Sfx - bless DH, at least I hope you enjoyed the extra sleep

OP posts:
SJ99 · 07/02/2008 14:33

COV - how frustrating for you
You've reminded me I need to clear out DS's old clothes and toys. everytime I tidy his old toys away he gets them off the shelf and starts playing with them even though he hasn't touched the stuff for ages. Think I will need to pack away properly in a big cardboard box and keep out of his sight, will leave that job for the weekend when Dh has taken him out

OP posts:
sfxmum · 07/02/2008 16:09

hello all

SJ glad all went well, dd had a slight reaction a couple of weeks later just a mild rash and some temp, nothing to slow her down.

mrsR thanks for email must talk to dh.

Ros I find MB hard going, but have enjoyed it in the past. we gave up on Tumble Tots dd told me she wants too go to music class

we went to KewG today which was nice and plan to get back there tomorrow. dd wanted to go to the badger set but she is still coughing a lot and it's not that warm.

my laptop has gone mad so will have to wait for dh to sort it out later, now using the very slow very confusing PC
what does he keep doing to this thing?
