hi everyone found this on the net, didnt know there was a chat bit for people in basingstoke. i have 2 wonderful brats lol
aged 8 and 10 live in winklebury and have lived in winklebury approx 20 yrs..

PurpleLostPrincess · 15/02/2009 09:58

Hiya traceysm, I'm in Winklebury too !!!

traceysm · 15/02/2009 14:49

ah cool im in warwick

PurpleLostPrincess · 16/02/2009 14:27

Brill, we're in Dudley, the other side of Castle Hill school - we were offered a house in Warwick (or was it Willoughby?) before we took this one and my oldest used to go to Winklebury infants...

My kids are DS (14), DD1 (10) and DD2 (17 months). DS wanted to go to Fort Hill but ended up at Costello (long story!), DD1 goes to the kings school but they both went to Castle Hill beforehand. I think Winklebury is a lovely place to live, I grew up in Brighton Hill which was lovely too, but spent 6 years living in Oakridge in the old maisonettes which wasn't as 'pleasant' but have got good and bad memories from that time in my life.

bunny79 · 18/02/2009 15:36

Im in Basingstoke.

22 weeks pregnant with my second. My first is eight. has anyone else in Basingstoke done it all again after such a big gap.?

any advise? do you lot have a local meet up group?

traceysm · 20/02/2009 21:23

both my kids go to castle hill aged 8 and ten. proberly know you lol

Wonderstuff · 20/02/2009 21:44

bunny79 where in Basingstoke are you? The NCT do a group on Friday morning at Brookvale village hall.

lollyheart did you find out which school you got? [nosey] I teach in Popley (secondary)

Housemum · 28/02/2009 17:42

Hi bunny79 - there was a 10 year gap between DDs 1 and 2, then 5 years to DD3. Was fine when DD2 quite small as she just followed along where the older one went (ballet, scouts etc) - becomes a bit awkward around age 5 as she is now as they both do stuff and their actvities are so different, even where they go to the same dance school, the lessons are at totally diff times. Didn't get too much of the jealousy that I expected - we were careful to make sure that her life pretty much carried on as before.

Not had a MN meet up, but I can second a vote for the Brookvale Coffee and Chat on a Friday - run by NCT but you don't have to be a member. In last couple of months they've had a nappy sale, photographer, mug footprints, Usborne books. Varied crowd, lots of new faces turn up as "bumps" as the antenatal teachers usually tell them about the group.

PurpleLostPrincess · 02/03/2009 14:20

I lived in Brookvale and went to the nursery/school until it closed down!! What time is the meeting? I'll try and make it, perhaps next week?

Big age gap here, DD2 is still 18 months whereas my eldest is nearly 15 and middle daughter is 10. So far so good, they absolutely adore DD2 and she adores them so it's working well. Wondering what it'll be like when she hits those annoying adorable years of around 3 or 4 and DD1 will be well into her teens and DS will be in his late teens...

Hiya traceysm, I've probably seen you around lol!

eslazydays · 04/03/2009 11:45

Hello, Im new to the area (Overton) and a new mum. I have a gorgeous daughter who is 7weeks old and woo hoo is asleep long enough for me to post a couple of messages.

Meglet · 06/03/2009 23:00

eslazydays are you on facebook? theres a mumsnet group on there. If you join that you can find me in the 'whats your mn name' part - Oct 07. You can add me if you like. Hope you and DD are doing well.

lollyheart · 10/03/2009 20:45

wonderstuff Ive just seen this, My dd got into marnel.

Meglet · 06/05/2009 14:26

its been very quiet on here lately hasn't it. Is there nothing happening in Amazingstoke these days?!

longwalk · 14/10/2009 20:38

Are any mums here in Hartley Wintney? Basingstoke isn't that far from me. My DS is at Yately Manor and I have DD1(3) and DD2(1) at home. It would be nice to get out more and meet up.

Wonderstuff · 05/11/2009 17:14

Anyone going to the fireworks tonight? Thinking of heading up to War Memorial, doesn't seem right now they don't have a bonfire though.

kys · 06/11/2009 14:20

How was it? I went to the one at the hospital last fri, it was really good and free!! No bonfire though. But hey someone did set fire to the grass just round the corner from the house last nite, so i got my bonfire

Wonderstuff · 08/11/2009 16:54

It was quite good, no bonfire though. Actually my stepdad did some fireworks in the garden for Isla's birthday yesterday and it was nicer, just really sweet. Isla was a bit scared of the loud bangs at the war memorial and it rained which was a pain.

They must have put quite a bit of effort into setting light to the grass it being so wet hope they didn't do to much damage.

kys · 10/11/2009 12:16

My god, i cant believe she's two already, wheres the last yr gone? Hows she getting on?
No damage done by the bonfire, apparently it was a bed they set on fire. Nice neighbours i have.

Wonderstuff · 13/11/2009 17:20

Shes much the same, happy smily into everything, never sleeping when i want her too (currently snoozing on my nap convieniently annoyingly preventing me from doing anythin but mn) we have very few places that are out of reach now though, shes an amazing climber. Hows your little man?

kys · 13/11/2009 19:16

Time goes so quick, he's just started school, just completed his first wk of full time, hes tired and grumpy and in bed by 6pm. Bless. Doing really well though, flying through his words. Really miss him but my mindees are keeping me busy.

Wonderstuff · 13/11/2009 19:51

Bless him

mmsparkle · 23/11/2009 11:56

Hello! I live in a village near Kingsclere, and have a 12 week old daughter. It's my first time on one of these boards. Would love to meet any other new mums in the area (or indeed more experienced mums!). :-)

Meglet · 30/11/2009 22:25

hello mmsparkle . How are you getting on? In theory I am a more experienced mum but in practice it usually goes tits up, lots of eye rolling and swearing under my breathe here .

PurpleLostPrincess · 01/12/2009 19:38

Hello all, just noticed the posts, sorry I've been rubbish - currently recovering from a hysterectomy so have time to go through my watch list lol!

Welcome mmsparkle . A friend of mine used to live in Ecchinswell, lovely village, haven't seen her for years! You'll find MN is a fab place to get advice and share stuff, have fun!

And also HIYA to meglet just realised you posted on my thread the other day xx
