kys · 23/04/2008 07:42

wonderstuff · 23/04/2008 20:42

Sorry yes name changed! I think my buds bar days are well and truely over (thank god)I'll try and send you a pic, if it doesn't work I'll be the one with the baby with the mad hair!

kys · 24/04/2008 08:08

Thats two of us with mad hair then, we could look a good combination. See you then.

JackBlackRoady · 24/04/2008 15:25

hello you lot! my little one, also called Isla (i told you that was our fav name!) is doing brilliantly, feeding and putting on weight, she was 4 weeks early and weighed 5lb5oz, she is now 6lb2oz. NHH were ace. I'm feeling a bit at the mo as my mum has had her second stroke and is in hospital in yorkshire, she won't be able to come down to see her now. anyway better go, my DS is home because of the strike and he's driving me mad!!!
love to you all
JBR xxx

wonderstuff · 24/04/2008 21:10

JBR - Well done you! Glad dd is doing so well. Sorry to hear about your mum, hope she recovers soon.

JackBlackRoady · 26/04/2008 21:26

thank you!
my mum is out of hospital now, will have to go up and see her, she has only seen Isla on the webcam so far...
gorgeous day today, went for a huge walk and feel pretty unfit now. will have to go for a walk every day to get active again!

kys · 28/04/2008 07:23

Thats great news JBR So pleased for you.

meglet · 29/04/2008 19:38

jbr Glad your mum is getting better. It's not the best weather for walking is it? We want to go to Birdworld at the weekend but it looks like rain on saturday, I just hope it perks up at some point.

I am very pleased we have Primark now. Yesterday I got 2 new bra's for my ever expanding pregnant boobs for £4 each!

Does anyone know what shops sell maternity swinwear, preferably tankinis? I think Mothercare will do them but they will probably be frumpy and expensive so I'm trying to avoid them if possible. H&M haven't got any in yet.

kys · 30/04/2008 09:31

I gave up looking when I was preg, tankinis were impossible to get and the swimsuits looked like something my gran would wear, I ended up going to primark in Reading and getting a normal tankini in the next size up for £4. A friend of mine got hers in debenhams last yr, I was surprised at how nice it actually was. Not at all frumpy.
I'm actually bikini shopping this pm so if i see any maternity ones i'll let you know. I'm off to the sunshine next wk, can't wait, not that it will be that relaxing with a 3 yr old.
But hey thats what Dads are for

meglet · 30/04/2008 09:34

good idea kys I will head for Primark for a bigger size tankini. I don't swim that often so don't want to spend ££££ on a fancy one if I can help it.

JackBlackRoady · 30/04/2008 10:47

thats what i did - i got the size up tankini in tescos, or asda. v cheap and cheerful but perfect!
oooo kys, where you going? i hope its gorgeous for you!
had a big chat with mum on phone yesterday, the stroke hasn't stopped her speech like b4, so that's good news!
isla is going about 4 hours between feeds, she is an angel!!!

wonderstuff · 30/04/2008 12:31

Hi all, glad its going so well JBR, and sounds like your mum is on the mend which must be a relief, one of my mums friends had a stroke last week, only in her 40s scary stuff
I swam loads when I was very pg, only time I was comfortable I was so massive! Well today I dusted off my swimsuit and went with Isla to the sports centre, she looked so sweet in her armbands! She is now completely shattered and has been sleeping in her pushchair for nearly 2 hours! Her daytime naps are normaly 30mins tops, so dispite hating my post pg body I am def. going to keep going, wonder if she'll sleep tonight??

PurpleLostPrincess · 30/04/2008 14:31

Congratulations JB!!! Soooo pleased for you Hope all continues to go well!! Let me know when you're up to meeting up and we'll try and arrange it again - no rush though as I remember the first 6-8 weeks being my 'dressing gown' weeks lol! ((hugs))

NewtoOakley · 30/04/2008 16:06

Hello, Sorry to butt in on this thread.... I'm moving to Basingstoke (Oakley) next week and I'm trying to find some parent and toddler groups. Does anyone know of any?
My daughter turns three in June - very nervous about leaving my mummy friends behind and keen to meet nice friendly people!

wonderstuff · 30/04/2008 18:30

NCT do a coffee and chat on fri mornings in brookvale which is friendly,

kys · 30/04/2008 18:59

Think the balloon festival is first weekend in august. hopefully they will be able to take off this summer, foot and mouth messed it up last year.

meglet · 10/05/2008 18:18
