hi all

we're off to the parents a bit later this morning. not sure if we'll be back 27th or 28th but if it's 27th then we'll try to come over Kew.

CBEEBIES was great and dd had a great time, glad we went altho both me and 2cute almost cancelled LOL!

anyways, a very merry ho ho ho to you all. hope you have a lovely, peaceful and joyous day tomorrow.

i will be happy if it all goes without a meltdown!

ps: anyone know a good divorce laywer? spoke at length with H last night and that's that.
pps: when i say "good" i mean fair, reasonable and not too expensive. not a cut-throat emasculator!

bahKewcHumbug · 24/12/2007 10:12

yes PC - I have kept the details of my mums for you (just in case). She was local and good, non-confrontational and constructive.

foxcubinapeartree · 24/12/2007 12:51

Oooh Ah

Good luck Paddle and have a lovely Christmas

Well I am in work - tidying my desk in peace (ahhh bliss). Am looking forward to a swim afterwards ....mmmmmmm

DH is at home with three bickering kids LOL!!!!

Paddle good to hear that you and 2cute had a good time

bahKewcHumbug · 24/12/2007 23:51

just stuffed my first Xmas stocking with...

a banana
3 tiny chocolate coins (tiny because I suspect they will be eaten for breakfast)
two little people to go on the train he's getting later
a Thomas sticker book.

Have left it in sight of his cot. He will have no idea what is going on but I can't tell you how good it feels after so many years of thinking about it and a non-Xmas last year.

Merry Christmas everyone

GloriaInEleusis · 25/12/2007 11:37

That's lovely Kew. Hope everyone is having a fab Christmas. Must admit we have all consumed more than our share of junk food this morning.

DS got a Thomas train set from Santa, and he runs after me every 2 minute yelling "Mummy! Mummy! Mummy! Thomas is stuck." and I have to go put the track back together.

Merry Chirstmas everyone!

mellow2 · 25/12/2007 22:48

We had a really relaxing Christmas day today, just dd,dh, and I.
Happy Christmas everyone

Hi

We had a lovely time at my sister's yesterday with the DCs and their cousins. The kids have spent the day today playing with all their new toys. DS1 enjoyed his first Christmas

QC glad you are having a special time

Hope everyone else is enjoying themselves!!

sfxmum · 26/12/2007 16:26

hello allcatch up while a have a cuppa

it seems the festivities have gone without much damage to allalthough I see there are a few still to report back

anyway we had a lovely time at in laws and thankfully both journeys were speedy.
dd completely overindulged and spent the entire time in fairy tiara wings and wand

well at least she got muddy running around the garden in her wellies and then got rides in the wheelbarrow after birdwatching with grandpa.

off to unpack and sort out some dinner

take care all

stepfordwife · 27/12/2007 11:43

hello everyone!

hope you've all had a ho ,ho ho of a time

having a fab time chez-stepford (well, along with the usual chocolate-fuelled, new toy-frenzy spats, of course...but enough of me and dh...)

dh did a splendid job with our five-course christmas lunch for 11 (he's after your crown, COV!)
i did my equally splendid job of making sure everyone had drinks

got my ma staying now as well as MIL. i really like having a 'full house." and it's so handy to have a few other adults in the house so you can bugger off pop out to do essential errands.

foxie, hope ds2 enjoyed his first christmas

kew, hope christmas for you and ds was special.
see you for drinkies later
not sure which combo of brood it'll be, although MIL gone to visit her brother and reckon ma may take advantage of some (relative) peace and quiet.
have a good day, everyone

stepfordwife · 27/12/2007 11:46

ros..hope you're recovering well

foxcubinapeartree · 27/12/2007 11:57

LOL Steppy!!

bahKewcHumbug · 27/12/2007 15:08

you're all welcome steppie (and everyone else) see you later from 5pm...

SJ99 · 27/12/2007 15:39

Hello all

Glad to hear everyone seems to be enjoying festivities

We had a great time (apart from today), DS has some lovely presents, meal went well, guests well behaved & well plied with drinks and mince pies

Today seemed to go wrong though and I feel quite down (PMS not helping either). DS reached his limits as completely over-stimulated with guests and new toys and became very fraught and upset. MIL sat there looking v.smug, she always makes me feel like such a failure. So I sat with DS upstairs for 2hrs to calm him down until they were going. Thankfully they have now left so I can have a bit of quiet time.

sfxmum · 27/12/2007 16:00

I feel the Christmas season should come with a blasting ray for undesirable MILs something to make them extra sympathetic and helpful sort of thing

KC will pass on drinks still sorting out the place and doing load after load of laundry, MIL smokes and the smell is e everywhere

ROS hope you are ok, plenty of rest

SJ99 · 27/12/2007 16:21

LOL SFX - I'll sign up for one of those guns Am over it now after a breather, no point in being miserable any longer. I do get on really well with MIL, trouble is as she has had 3boys she acts like the expert. Unfortunately, DS doesn't really like her which I know upsets her so that makes things awkward too. Oh well.

Kew - hope DS enjoyed opening his stocking sorry will pass on drinks too, after house full of guests all week, need to clear up and chill out before we head to Wales on Sunday. Have fun!

mellow2 · 27/12/2007 16:44

Kew,

I won't be able to make the drinks after all. I've been up since 5am and I'm absolutely knackered and I've got to get on with getting laundry done etc so I could get my packing done.

Have fun everyone!

DS is finally in bed and I can hear him "ba bye, ba bye, ba bye..." He does love a party

foxcubinapeartree · 27/12/2007 21:16

QC thanks for a lovely time this evening. Those snacks were tres delicious!!

The DC's really enjoyed themselves and I enjoyed my baby free couple of hours (although I did miss him...)

Your DS was looking as though he was about to flake out by the time we left!

bahKewcHumbug · 27/12/2007 22:27

Oh foxie he can paqrty for hours - Neil and his kids stayed to watch EE'ers and left about 8pm then DS went up for a bath , then a story! Didn't get to bed until nearly nine!

I was exaclt drinks was it? More like pandemonium! I have lost the ability to make vol-au-vents and produce little cocktails for everyone. So thank you for helping yourselves!

bahKewcHumbug · 27/12/2007 22:27

I was exaclt drinks ... what?! It wasn;t exactly "drinks" ie posh drinkies...

stepfordwife · 27/12/2007 23:24

thanks muchly, kew, for a lovely evening. no worries, i like helping myself

your neighbours/childhood pal were very nice.

and always grand to share a bottle of bubbly (or two) with you, foxie.

just as we were parking in our road, i said to dh;'don't worry, ma will have fed them," when i got a phone call on moby from ds1;'where are you? we're staaaaaaaaaaaarving."
oh dear...

dd had some dinner, milk then flaked out.

sj - glad you're feeling better - enjoy having your house back to yourself!

mellow - when are you off?

toodlepip

foxcubinapeartree · 28/12/2007 11:17

Steppy [hic]!!

QC let me know if you can come swimming Sunday (i.e. re babysitting).

Agree, your friends are lovely BTW

Steppy/SFX would you like to come swimming Sunday in my luxurious health club?

...Ok its not mine exactly, but they do let me in...

I think we are going to a party tonight - that is, I think I've worked out who sent us the invitation. If I have deciphered the hand writing wrongly, then my neighbours are due for some unexpected guests tonight!

mellow2 · 28/12/2007 12:08

Steppie,

We're flying tonight. I probably won't have a chance to log on after this.

So bye everyone. Have a great new year!
