ComeOVenReadyturkey · 21/12/2007 14:41

Have spent the morning making a centrepiece for the table, with loads of eucalyptus, pine, cinncmon sticks, dried orange slices, roses, berries etc etc. Am really proud of how proffesional it looks (my fisrt attempt into real flower arranging). DD comes home from school and I show it to her, her response? "Where will we put the food"? That will teach me to fish for compliments .

Happy birthday MrR's dd.

Ros I missed about you having an OP. Nothing serious I hope? Take care of yourself.

Paddlechick666 · 21/12/2007 14:46

where's Kew?

sj, got some of those cubeworld things for CM's boys and plan to get a Body Shop pamper voucher this arvo in richmond on way home.

Gosh can't keep up with this thread! Ros, I hope you are managing to have a good rest and plenty to eat etc. Hopefully you'll have your strength back soon but is horrid coming round from a general anaesthetic. Cov, I bow to your superior hostess skills! Am taking notes for next Christmas! Hope everyone else is very well.

foxcubinapeartree · 21/12/2007 19:17

Hiya

Ros [big hugs] what is your full recovery time?

Mellow - glad you like Ds's card - DD also did a very pink and fluffy design

CoV - Hiya I was wondering where you were. happy 3rd birthday to DS and RESPECT for being a domestic godess - you should give lessons you know [hopeless emoticon]

Festive [waves]

Ele - what a nightmare with Amex/Abbey- hope you are all sorted now. This kind of thing is so frustrating isn't it - and it couldn't be worse timing.

SJ what did you bake?

sfx (and Puds) - Hi I am thinking of arranging a group swim at my health club in Ealing in their Ultra luxuroious pool - would you both be up for it? It is £15 each but I have 2 guest passes so we could go as a gang and split the costs (about £7.50 each)?

There was a very awful accident this afternoon at the junction of Manor Road/queens Rd/Sheen Rd - A bus hit a child and an air ambulence was called .

I have no idea what happened to the child - has anyone got any news? Will look on internet to try and find out.

foxcubinapeartree · 21/12/2007 19:37

Can't find anything on internet about the bus accident today...

Someone has just posted a card inviting us to drinks on Friday and I'm not sure who it is from - can't read their writing! How frustrating to be invited to a party and not know where it is LOL!!

sfxmum · 22/12/2007 11:00

got home to find dd and dh baking Christmas cookies dd favouring the Daleks over the reindeer - they are both, of course in the new testament standing next The Baby Jesus

thanks Mellow could have spend ages going through themhave a good journey and stay over in Malaysia

foxcubinapeartree · 22/12/2007 11:20

Tee Hee Hee about the Daleks in the Manger.

DD's fave food atm is "Dalek break" (the one with garlic)

Guess what?

Monti was trying to grab my brekkie bowl so I put it on the nearest high surface which was up about 4 steps up, on the stairs> I went away and a moment later, heard him tinkering with it again.

I ran out and saw that he had climbed up the stairs to get to the bowl!!!

So all of a sudden the can climb stairs , which means we have to get another stairgate and watch him like a hawk now. Do not feel ready for this awkward stage at all

Mellow have a wonderful journey - when are you back with us (send us a postcard) ?

foxcubinapeartree · 22/12/2007 11:21

Of course that should have read "Dalek bread"....

SJ99 · 22/12/2007 15:14

That's cute with the Daleks! DS calls it Garly bread

I made a tomato cake, have yet to ice it. All teh men ahve goen to rugby this afternoon & DS sleeping so a bit of peace and quiet. He's had a monster digger already from his uncle, couldn't tear him away from it, it's almost bigger than him!

COV - centrepiece sounds awesome, am impressed

Mellow - have a fanatstic holiday

Well I wish everyone a Happy Christmas, not sure I will get chance to log on again, it's slighlty chaotic round here!!

foxcubinapeartree · 22/12/2007 15:33

Mellow - just to let you know that your bag went down very well at my Bookclub booze up meal. The lucky recipient loved it! They were very impressed with the idea of the recycled saris too.

I have decided to keep both of the other too as I can't bear to let the gorgeous Plum Boho one out of my grasp! We are all off to a party in Highgate in a mo' so I shall pack the Boho bag with Monti's paraphenalia (its the perfect size).

mellow2 · 22/12/2007 16:37

sfx,
Glad to help.

foxie,
glad both the bookclub and you really like the bags. I'm going to keep one of the brocade ones for myself.

We're not going to be leaving for Malaysia until Friday next week so it's a little while to go yet.

mellow2 · 23/12/2007 07:00

GloriaInEleusis · 23/12/2007 08:25

Oh, drinks at Kewcumbers?? I've missed this. My own fault I am sure as I've not been able to keep up with this thread lately. Been busy busy busy at work.

Are kids coming or just grown ups?

OFf to the gym now... I'll check in later if I get a chance. WE have to get DH's new radio installed in his car and a million other pre Christmas chores.

rosmincepieeater · 23/12/2007 15:10

Hi all, my lovely dad came & picked me & ds up yesterday so I am now recuperating at my mum's who won't even let me make a cup of tea!

Thanks for all the messages. I am feeling so much better already, the drs could do the surgery by keyhole so the recovery is going to be much quicker than it could've been but still no heavy lifting for a couple of weeks. Poor ds can't understand why I can't pick him up .

Don't know how often I'll be able to log in as my dad's pc is the slowest in the world!

Kew - we won't be back for your drinking session so maybe another time!

Ele - hope you get your money back, how annoying.

Mellow, am liking the sound of your new bag selection, might have to pop around again sometime, probably after you're back.
