That's great news about Dylan dizzy but it's funny because Abbie was weighed today and at 8 weeks and 4 days she is 9lb 8oz

dingdong05 · 14/08/2008 10:26

The rain's a pain but its the humidity that kills me. You just can't get the clothes right, it's too wet not to put on a coat, but wear anything more than a vest and its sweltering!
Hope everyones well and the bubs are thrivin
xxx

dizzydixies · 14/08/2008 19:01

dingdong I know what you mean, everytime we go somewhere I go through the whole - do they need a vest or not, long sleeves or tshirt, socks or just sandals, better put in a cardi/rain coat/wellies/umbrella etc etc!!

minipink thats great news about Abbie - sounds like she's coming on great

dd1 had her hair cut today - her first proper hair cut - as she wanted a big girl hair cut in time for starting school on Tues when did that happen - she was only born 2 minutes ago!!!!!

dh away to collect inlaws from station - wish me luck for rest of weekend [sigh]

Klaw · 15/08/2008 22:51

Anyone going to the Wellgate tomorrow for the Multicultural Mela?

OP posts:
dingdong05 · 18/08/2008 13:43

Didn't know about the Mela, but I had friends visit and we decided to go on a trip to jumpin joeys only to find there was a massive seafest event! So much fun, we ate chips and smokies on the sea front whilst watching a man fall into the harbour as he couldnt stay in the canoe
Lots of fun AND J got to go to the soft play! Anyone else go there? I'll look out for it next year for sure.xx

dizzydixies · 19/08/2008 22:01

no, we had the inlaws over for the weekend and then my dad came up yesterday to stay over so he could come and see dd1 start school today

dingdong I now want chips

minipinkscottish · 20/08/2008 08:03

dizzy -how did first day of school go?

dizzydixies · 20/08/2008 22:47

mninipink she was absolutely fine, didn't care a jot - photos on profile!
I did ok until one of the mums who I haven't seen all summer asked my how my mum was and then I had a bit of a wobble but other than that I don't think I embarrassed her!
was just a shame they had a 'false' start with the strike and everything - happy enough to go back tomorrow though

how is Abbie doing? Dylan gets weighed again tomorrow and its our last day to register her too

Klaw · 21/08/2008 09:43

Bless!!! Hope she's having a good day today

DD has been pleased to be back at Playgroup, ds was grumpy that his school was NOT closed yesterday.

Just been inspecting my feet, think I'm getting webbing between my toes....

Are we going to have any reliable dry weather so we can plan to meet at Cairnie?

OP posts:
minipinkscottish · 21/08/2008 10:10

Photos are so sweet dizzy - glad your dd was ok. I know how you feel about the lady who asked about your mum. I lost my dad 2 years ago and for ages I thought I was fine until people asked me about him It does get easier though xx

Abbie is doing great - she is 9lb 14 now and gets jags today - was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but she had slight temp. She is sleeping from around 9.30pm till 4.30am but we've had a 5am and a 6am too

Klaw - hate this weather too - would love to meet up too - hope we can soon!!

asur · 21/08/2008 14:20

Hi all, thought I'd finally post - added thread to my watch list ages ago but never got round to posting anything...

I'm in Dundee, live with DH, DS1 (2.3) and DS3 (8wks).

This weather is a nightmare! I don't really mind the rain but it means I can never get the washing out - keep having to tumble nappies which I hate doing... Nevermind, could be worse I'm sure.

Klaw · 21/08/2008 15:02

Hello Asur, welcome to Musmnet Local - Dundee.

I know what you mean about the tumble dryer. Dp came home with an old one but

  1. the cost of electricity
  2. I don't trust it not to shrink my clothes
  3. I've been watching the weather forecast and sticking the washing on at the most opportune times

I was about to put the latest wash out today when dd pointed out the heaven's had opened so today my house will look like a chinese laundry.

currently the TD is very useful as a place to store stuff

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 21/08/2008 22:00

meant to be nice tomorrow and sunday - am not going to hold my breath or promise the dc anything as everytime we arrange a trip to somewhere is chucks it down

was tempted to throw them outside in a puddle tonight and save the hot water from their bath

asur · 22/08/2008 07:50

Morning,

so far it looks like a promising day!! And it's nappy washing day! Sounds too good to be true

I'm going out to buy wellies and raincoat today though just in case! Fed up of going out in the rain with DS1 wearing a full rainsuit (very cute!) and wellies, DS3 in pram under big raincover and I've only got a shower resistant coat!

minipinkscottish · 22/08/2008 10:37

It was sunny walking dd to school this morning but it is looking grey now and I am freezing in the house.......omg do I need to put the heating on in August?

Getting new heating next month and can't wait. I'm having a wood burning Rayburn that is for cooking, hot water and heating....whoohoo...no more expensive gas and a cosy house too!!! And I get to redo kitchen

PinkPussyCat · 22/08/2008 14:01

Hellloooooo....!

I never get time to post these days, ds is well and truly 'on the loose' as it were - started walking a week(ish) ago which is lovely but the upshot of that is I can no longer take my eyes off him. He has had multiple bruises from falling and bashing his head, poor wee man!

Dizzy Hope you + Dylan are doing ok!

Asur Welcome! Coincidentally, I have just bought ds a sort of all-in-one rainsuit too - This weather really is the pits. I think I might go into the waterproofs manufacturing market - it's got to be a winner!

minipink of your Rayburn. We used to live in an old cottage with one and it was fab - really miss it. Hope Abbie and all the rest are doing well!

Klaw I was in Dundee that day yet couldn't see any evidence of a Mela! Was it good? (I'm sure I go around with my eyes shut sometimes)

Well we are off tomorrow to the inlaws for 2 weeks so don't know if I'll get near a computer there either! If not I'll say cheerio the noo, see you in a couple of weeks

minipinkscottish · 25/08/2008 10:35

Hello all!! OMG it's raining again

Poor ds3 left for Ardroy this morning with school....hope it gets better for them.

Anyone feel up to a trip to Bonkers this week? Although I would only have Abbie with me and obviously she can't play... dd at school and ds4 at childminders.

dizzydixies · 25/08/2008 21:45

minipink hope you packed his wellies and waterproofs!

its dh's last week off work so if you don't mind we're trying to get loads of stuff done while he is here so I'll raincheck on Bonkers until next week when he's at work and I'm needing out the house and dd1 is in school till 3pm and not these annoying half days!

PPC Hope you're enjoying your time away and are having better weather than us

minipinkscottish · 26/08/2008 09:24

ok dizzy that's great xx have a good week with dh xx

which school is dd1 at?

dizzydixies · 26/08/2008 16:44

Tayport primary - we're very happy with it so far - she has a lovely teacher

dingdong05 · 28/08/2008 10:39

Hello asur, and all you other lovely ladies!

I want to join in the drying clothes mump too, there's a drying area in the ground floor of my multi (open at the sides, but under cover) so it's great when it's raining as it is protected from most rain. But not from scummy gadgies who steal it. So I'm finding it easier to jusfify the tumble dryer cost as I don't have to replace everything.
AND I'm pretty sure I saw my sheet on someones line the other day as it has a similar stain, but not enough to take it.
What tinkie would steal a stained bed sheet?

Hmmm, instead of making me feel better I just feel again.

And relax

minipinkscottish · 31/08/2008 07:23

This thread has gone all quiet again

I have uploaded some new pics of Abbie at last.

What a great day yesterday although a bit humid - dh managed to get the grass cut at last...was beginning to worry I was going to loose dc's out there

Well gpt Ciaran back from Ardroy and he had a great time...it wasn't too wet for them.

Stefan got back from UK school games late last night and he did great. He has to swim against able bodied swimmers at the games and he got a bronze in his 200IM and a GOLD in his 100m FLY. He also got improved times in both and so a little step nearer his goal of 2012

Hope everyone is doing ok out there....

dizzydixies · 31/08/2008 23:40

minipink she's a wee cracker and it sounds like all the kids are doing away fine

I can't believe we had 2 lovely days of sunshine and thats summer over poor dd1 is STILL getting sent to school in her wee checked summer dress come rain hail or shine!

I've got HV coming for my PN assessment thingy on tues so will get dd3 weighed then, am hoping she's still doing ok

kam29 · 01/09/2008 17:11
