Tayside Tots

Happy Due Date Abbie

Hello everyone else!

Got a Piss Up in a Brewery to go to tomorrow Inveralmond Brewery in Perth having their annual summer barbecue for friends, family and good customers. Going to bake some LDC to take as contribution.

Been contacted by someone at STV to do a news piece on doulas for North Tonight, gulp! And need to arrnage to go see someone who contacted me cold via my webiste re a birth. That's the first real time I've been contacted that way and I was beginning to think it would never happen. Keep your fingers crossed they like me and hire me. And they want to use a local birthing centre

I go on call in September for a VBA2C. She's decided to use MLU in Kirkcaldy because of their fab reputation for VBAC and WBAC, the ONLY unit in UK so far! Good for them!!

Been taking dd swimming, she talks the talk and then when we get there she's a limpit, but managed to get her floating by herself twice on Wednesday and she travelled a meter to the side twice, so totally praised how well she did and will keep taking her to increase her confidence and then maybe we'll have a swimmer of her very soon.

Have been collecting the tokens on Nestle (don't tell anyone) for free sport sessions and will get to Olympia or Perth for some fun water sessions too.

Well that's me, when are we going to do Cairnie then? >

Nice one Klaw, how exciting! Will watch for you - any idea when it will be broadcast?

Lol at your Nestle token-collecting
Enjoy the piss-up!

Dizzy hope you are ok - I meant to say the cake went down very well with the IL's etc - will post a pic on my profile once I figure out how...

OK I have a Dundee question for y'all... When one is schmoozing around the town centre with one's buggy - where is there a loo big enough to fit yourself and said buggy into the cubicle? I am sick of not being able to go for a pee in town. Any recommendations?

My wee baby is not a baby any more - going to be ONE on Sunday! I can't believe how fast the last year has gone.

littlepinkpixie · 18/07/2008 13:29

Hello all

I havent been on this thread in a long time, and there it was at the top of active convos!

PPC Have you tried the mother and baby room on the top floor of debenhams, that has a toilet in it.

PinkPussyCat · 18/07/2008 13:31

Hi LPP!

Is that separate from the rest of the women's toilets then - I haven't noticed it! Will look next time I'm in town.

Hope you're well

littlepinkpixie · 18/07/2008 13:43

Yes, it is a separate door, just a couple of metres down from the door of the womens toilets, down that corridor that goes round the back of the retaurant.

I'm alright thanks. Super busy at work at the moment, and struggling to spend any time on the internet as my 17 month DD has unfortuantly worked out how to turn off the computer and reset the wireless mouse. If only I could get her interested in cbeebies

Klaw · 18/07/2008 14:20

public toilets at bottom of car park in Overgate, along hallway near to Menzies.... there are parent and child toilets (with two toilets even!) beside disabled toilets

OP posts:
PinkPussyCat · 18/07/2008 14:25

Thank you both - I will keep my eyes peeled.

LPP your dd is clearly on her way to being a techno-whizz!

littlepinkpixie · 18/07/2008 16:39

Techno-whiz? Techno-monkey is what I would call it.

minipinkscottish · 18/07/2008 19:31

Thanks Klaw - yes it is my due date today and Abbie is 5 weeks old Amazing!!!

Good to hear from everyone xx

JennyfromtheBlock · 18/07/2008 20:16

TAKE PART IN A BUGGY STUDY

Dr. Suzanne Zeedyk and her research assistants are currently carrying out research into the uses of baby buggies. Mothers and their infants, aged between 9 - 12 months and 15 - 18 months, are invited to take part.

The experiment involves a walk through the town with your infant, using a baby buggy provided. The study would take approximately one hour to complete. Participation is scheduled at your convenience. All infants will be rewarded with a Dundee University t-shirt.

Happy Birthday to JennyfromtheBlock's ds, hope you had a lovely party!

OP posts:
PinkPussyCat · 20/07/2008 18:55

Happy Birthday JennyFromTheBlock's ds!

Ds really enjoyed his birthday too - we went to Blair Drummond Safari Park and the weather was fab, ds had great fun watching the lone candle on his cake but got most upset when it was blown out on his behalf!

Hope the party went well, Jenny - I was too chicken for a party and took the less stressful option of a day out instead! Still, there's always next year...

I'm shattered though - early night for me!

minipinkscottish · 22/07/2008 11:15

Morning all xx Hope party went well Jenny

Abbie was weighed this morning and is now 7lb 11oz She is gorgeous and sooooooo good and feeding freally well - I am so chuffed xxx

PinkPussyCat · 25/07/2008 13:48

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum, Dizzy, what a difficult time this is for you. Will be thinking about you lots next week.

Lots of love + best wishes to all of you.

dizzydixies · 25/07/2008 13:48

thank you PPC

Klaw · 25/07/2008 13:55

Sorry about your mum Dizzy......

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

so a CS is definite then is it? I hope you have a particular cons for the op

Have you got your Arnica sorted?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 25/07/2008 13:59

thank you Klaw

Prof Miles said he would let me have a shot up till due date and if nothing then elective sec on due date which is Wed

tbh am too tired and exhausted to think about all the reasons for not doing it, am just wanting to get past Monday now

have no idea who is doing it, I hadn't even thought of that - should have, silly mare that I am

arnica & rescue remedy all looked out and will start taking the arnica tomorrow as 5days prior is supposed to be the most effective I think

Klaw · 25/07/2008 14:06

So, let me get this straight.... elCS booked for edd BECAUSE you have GD, or is there some other reason?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 25/07/2008 14:10

2 massive babies - dd1 had significant shoulder dystocia and dd2 failure to progress at fully dialated

expecting another big baby due to FAC and FHC measurements (and the blatant size of me) but because of my desire to try for a VBAC he said he would be fine if I went into spontaneous labour prior to due date but would prefer me to have a section if I went to due date

Klaw · 25/07/2008 14:14

How much of dd2s FTP was due to positioning, were you mobile and upright or on all fours, or on your back hooked up to a machine? (sorry, I don't recall how much we discussed this before)
