Hello

Just popping in and saw thread already full up! The craziness of November is well and truly under way. Sorry I'm behind on your news, hope everyone is well.

The scarf video, I thought she was going to hang herself for the final tie Grin

Still undecided about floor, have got loads of samples ordered. I want a fresh, modern look whereas Dh wants more clinical, utlitarian (sp?) look, need to find something that we both like Hmm

I just love world book day Hmm

DS has informed me that he doesn't look exactly like Johnny Depp aka Willy Wonka. He has grudgingly conceded that I have probably done the best I can with the raw material.

UptoapointLordCopper · 29/02/2012 20:31

sfx - will look for another cleaner, but one more sympathetic to a house being actually a home rather than object to be cleaned. Hmm

World book day t-shirts done and ironed. No need to wash them though, is there? But have to get costume for DS1's assembly. He plays a Celtic chief captured by Romans, though he'd rather play a warrior who is killed so he can play dead Hmm. Celtic costume = shirt + belt (according to Asterix which is the definitive text on Celts HmmHmm). Easy. Especially since he only told me about it this morning.

UptoapointLordCopper · 29/02/2012 20:32

Very Hmm today. Grin

vbus · 29/02/2012 20:53

Kewc- Grin

Copper - just started with a new cleaner now builders gone, she seems good. Let me know if you want her details.

Sfx - good for you on run despite cough, did you get a mention on R4?

Feel like I've been on my feet all day, even more so. Why is there not a tired emoticon? Hmm Nice to go to park after school

My niece's friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer - she's 21 Shock

UptoapointLordCopper · 02/03/2012 09:35

Kew - Shock Sad Hope treatable.

sfxmum · 02/03/2012 09:55

KewC what a shiteous thing to happen Sad do they now what stage and type yet? plain horrible Sad

sfxmum · 02/03/2012 09:56

vbus no issue with towel, hair dye came off very easily although there is still a slight stain in the scalp

vbus · 02/03/2012 11:31

Kewc - that's so Sad hope they can treat it

Sfx - phew, hopefully the rest will wash out next time

Been to gym today, 1st time in 2wks but I was pretty pathetic, felt v.sluggish. I think I still have the last of the Dc's cold. Got tons of pta stuff to do, better get on with it...

Kewcumber · 02/03/2012 11:36

I know she's been offered a new non-surgical treatment, TomoTherapyHD. Don't know much about it but I would assume given that its non-surgical that it not hugely advanced. Just so shocked at having to deal with such a thing so young - I know young people have to deal with shitty things all teh time but it seems so unexpected given it is a predominantly older womans disease (by older I include myself in that!)

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/03/2012 10:55

Good morning!

All gone out for music school. Watching saturday kitchen but actually no idea what the man is cooking. Hmm

sfxmum · 03/03/2012 17:05

music class here too this morning, went running in the afternoon while dh and dd went riding

planning a pyjama day tomorrow it will, apparently be raining heavily and even some snow forecast for the evening, will make chilli or even bake a cake I think
Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/03/2012 18:54

Got The three robbers and moon man and also the world book day dragon book. We didn't get book tokens this year for some reason though.

We have run out of baked goods. Shock Eating shop-bought cookies today. ShockShockGrin Baking day tomorrow. But what to bake?

sfxmum · 03/03/2012 20:13

they look good Copper, did you see the chat with Cressida?
dd still refuses to read the books saying they are for boys Hmm

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/03/2012 20:27

Girl character appears in book 2 I think. Author was pestered by her own daughter about lack of female characters. She said she was probably trying to write books that she thought her brother would read. But girl is a most excellent character, if DD can put up with book 1 without her first.

Where do they get all these boy books/toys girl books/toys idea from? Drive me up the wall.

sfxmum · 03/03/2012 21:43

It is most odd but I guess having girls in prominent roles is good, I have a list of books I would like her to read as she grows up and part of the criteria is that they have strong female characters

sfxmum · 03/03/2012 21:44

mind you it only started to be an issue recently

UptoapointLordCopper · 04/03/2012 19:09

Leftover curry for tea.

Just finished using the glutinous rice flour and now only have 13 types of flour left in my cupboard. Shock But still haven't figured out what to do with potato flour. Why on earth did I buy that!?

sfxmum · 04/03/2012 19:22

potato flour for bread, something called fecula de batata is used in Portugal quite regularly
