Hello

Just popping in and saw thread already full up! The craziness of November is well and truly under way. Sorry I'm behind on your news, hope everyone is well.

The scarf video, I thought she was going to hang herself for the final tie Grin

Still undecided about floor, have got loads of samples ordered. I want a fresh, modern look whereas Dh wants more clinical, utlitarian (sp?) look, need to find something that we both like Hmm

Nice to see you earlier SFX. See, I can find your place if I put my mind to it. Grin

Now for lunch before picking up DSs who are no doubt completely bonkers from playing computer games for 2 hours. Hmm

sfxmum · 15/02/2012 14:34

copper thanks a lot, they behaved and were proud of being left alone Grin easy to please

dh arrived about an hr later and I managed to run while he had lunch and gave them lunch, I did suggest it would be the other way around, when I got back he looked shell shocked and has now left for his run

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/02/2012 15:35

Bloody kids. It takes about 1 hour to recover from over-indulging in electronic media.

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/02/2012 16:00

sfx - I'm at the beginning of Book 3 of 1Q84 and have taken a strange liking to Mr Ushikawa. Will I regret it? Is he going to turn out to be a force for good at the end or am I too optimistic?

sfxmum · 15/02/2012 17:47

I like him he has an interesting arc, because I had the audio his voice is clearly on my mind

vbus · 15/02/2012 19:38

Kew - what have you done to your leg?

Had a good wk so far but I'm really, really looking fwd to some child free time tomorrow morning and going to gym.

Friends came round today, nice to see friend but I don't think I'll ever get why someone would think it's ok to come round to someone else's house and throw things around and smash up models/toys Hmm

Took kids for bike ride/park in afternoon which was nice, I need to get a bike to keep up with them!

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/02/2012 20:18

vbus - if my friend does that I'd call the police. Wink

We might be in town tomorrow as dh is working from home. Hmm And I've baked hot dog buns in anticipation.

I've had very strange conversations these couple of days. (No, that doesn't include with you SFX Grin) Odd ideas floating around about education, books, languages, pianos. HmmHmm

Kewcumber · 16/02/2012 00:00

nothing overly dramatic vbus - torn calf muscle. Though bizarrely my sister has done the same (though not quite as badly), I can now walk on it but can't push off with my foot - so running out and probably for a week or two more.

sfxmum · 16/02/2012 09:28

Hello glad to hear e everyone has been surviving the half term ok
Here I an off to visit aunt while dd goes to friend. Dh starts Monday so will have family trip tomorrow to British Museum
Not counting on anything exciting for weekend as he likely will be on pre work nerves and unlikely to cope with much Grin
Although in order for me to leave he has to be home and there is no sign of him yetHmm

vbus · 16/02/2012 12:21

Kewc - hope you recover soon

Sfx - enjoy your outing today and to museum. Dh decided he's having day off tomorrow, maybe we'll head to Kew. Anyone else got new friend membership?

Copper - tbf friend did tell her boys off and made them tidy up/apologise but it did happen several times Hmm they won't be invited back in a hurry

I enjoyed gym sesh. I have an hour left before collecting DS2, going to have a nice leisurely lunch now Smile

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/02/2012 13:24

I miss the gym. Vbus that is maddening although I tolerate a great deal of mess

Visiting aunt she seems concerned with crime rise in Portugal oh well

KewC hope recovery goes well
Considering a half late October anyway have a 10k that month could be part of training

vbus · 16/02/2012 14:26

Sfx - how many races are you doing now? You are very dedicated. My gym habit is very random i.e. I go when I can! I wish I had more time for it

I don't mind mess that goes with the territory, but I don't like stuff being deliberately being chucked about for no reason and I felt sorry for DS1 as his lego creation got smashed up and now he has to rebuild it

Weather is quite nice and mild today. Feel like an apple crumble might be on it's way Smile

Back from V&A. Kids made spiders, listened to spider story, and made comics! So many people though. Exhausted now. Going to see what's on telly, I think.

sfxmum · 16/02/2012 17:06

vbus 2 10k so far one 31st March and another 20th of October
have a fantasy of doing the Dublin Marathon in October 2013

copper the V&A what a good idea might do for Monday

sfxmum · 16/02/2012 17:06

and I am not really dedicated more desperate to lower the weight and keep it low, having booked races keeps the motivation going

Kewcumber · 16/02/2012 21:06

Looks like I might be exchanging on my house sale tomorrow - without my purchase Shock Brinkmanship of the best kind on my part! Perhaps I will live to regret it but I can always live with my sister for a while Grin (

sfxmum · 16/02/2012 21:27

momentous KewC through greeted teeth and all

UptoapointLordCopper · 17/02/2012 16:26

KewC - good luck! Don't be homeless.

sfx - finished book. Poor Mr Ushikawa.

vbus · 17/02/2012 16:56

Kewc - good luck with move, hope not too long for your purchase to go through

Had a day of playground and pottering, achieved some things but not others. Wish I could get rid of this cold, it's zapping my energy

Went to Westfield today while DH took DC to see Alvin and the chipmunks. Hmm Not impressed with westfield. Shop assistants that couldn't be bothered in most of the shops. Still, bought a few workaday items of clothing ...

Where does one go for kids' slippers?

sfxmum · 17/02/2012 21:17

copper Joules have some and I expect a few other shops like Marks
I don't like big shopping centres but Westfield is at least open, but I do not wander about, I got the free app that shows me the route to where I want to go.

went to British Museum it was pleasant enough, came home via bus and overground so much better than the tube

we still have Monday off

vbus · 19/02/2012 16:27

Hope everyone having a nice wkend and enjoying the sun after yesterday's rains Smile

Can't believe back to school already tomorrow, holidays went too fast. Have been sorting out bags, shoes books etc.

I think most kids shoe shops will sell slippers. I have to admit the DC just use the slipper socks which seem to be fine

sfxmum · 19/02/2012 19:00

hello

we still have a free day tomorrow so will be going to Kew Gardens and just potter about until its time for dd's optician appointment (routine) not planning on leaving home too early just take it easy
but dh starts job tomorrow

best of luck to those returning, I have a lot of study to catch up with this week

hope everyone is well

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/02/2012 19:01

Just saw International Space Station across the sky. Lovely night sky. Jupiter, Venus, Mars, Sirius (and two moany children) all out in force.

Natural History Museum yesterday. Wasn't as bad as I thought it could be. School tomorrow. Boo!

sfxmum · 19/02/2012 19:22

copper the pesky child was looking over my shoulder and is now asking to go to museums Shock

vbus was having a look at CampB tickets and camping plus not sure it is worth it for an extra £106 particularly if we manage to arrive on Thursday
