Hello

Just popping in and saw thread already full up! The craziness of November is well and truly under way. Sorry I'm behind on your news, hope everyone is well.

The scarf video, I thought she was going to hang herself for the final tie Grin

Still undecided about floor, have got loads of samples ordered. I want a fresh, modern look whereas Dh wants more clinical, utlitarian (sp?) look, need to find something that we both like Hmm

Carpet cleaners in today, have had to move all furniture and get everything off the floors, feel like we've moved house lately with kitchen unpacking and all recent sort outs. Then more workmen coming later to service something else. Will head out soon to get DC feet measured. Back to school tomorrow, aarggh

Hello!

Back to school, back to work. Sad

sfx - where did you go for posh tea?

Already thinking about the next break ...

sfxmum · 04/01/2012 12:39

Vbus good luck with the finishing touches.
We decided not to go for more carpet cleaning and wait until we can afford to paint the walls and replace the flooring in kitchen bathroom hall and sitting room. Although that might be a while give the jobless situation

We are back to school tomorrow too dd seems happy about it so that is ok

Copper Fortnum&mason they do good coffee and divine welsh rarebit as well as scones

Must write blooming essay

UptoapointLordCopper · 04/01/2012 16:02

Fridge gone! New fridge same size, but clean. Grin

Got to office to get vital equipment only to realise that the other vital thing was left at home. So home again. Harrumph.

vbus · 05/01/2012 11:21

Hello

Hope everyone well

Sfx - made some welsh rarebit muffins for lunch yesterday, delicious! So pleased we had carpets cleaned, stairs were filthy with dust from building work etc plus general potty training mess, it all needed doing

Copper - I've decided we need new mop head. I had vileda one so will probably buy same again as it was so good

DS1 was v. excited to go back to school and ran in. Have to get him soon as he has another hospital check today. Can't remember if I said but he has started eating some nuts now, yay! School came up with special menu so he can also start school dinners tomorrow which is a huge milestone for him too, let's see how that goes.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 05/01/2012 12:57

vbus fantastic news regarding ds1. Great to have clean carpets too

copper organisation here at the moment is not what it could be either

stayed up until 4.30 to write up the essay, it is rubbish, emailed tutor to apologise, I am quite sure I did not actually answered the question and referenced really badly. 20% of mark gone I am sure, oh well

dh home so took dd to school although I still got up at 8 to make sure it all run smoothly, she was out the door on time with all her gear.

tomorrow I start the run training proper and sort out my CV far too dazed today

vbus · 05/01/2012 16:19

Sfx - well done on completing essay. Hopefully you'll get a better mark than you think. At least you deserve a bar of choc and a cup of Brew

Yes looking fwd to getting back into gym tomorrow myself. then must carry on sorting out stuff at home, have a ton of filing to do

Kewcumber · 05/01/2012 22:22

not posted much as have had DS pretty much 24/7 over the holidays. I rarely moan about being a single parent it being my choice 'n all, but bloody hell I could have done with someone to take over a few times this holiday! I lurrve school!

Good news - had another more reasonable offer on the house today so hopefully there is room for a deal to be done.

As sfx and I share a birthday (though sadly not a birth year) in early Jan would anyone like to celebrate with us in a night out?

vbus · 06/01/2012 10:57

Kew - I can imagine that was tough going, enjoy the child free time now Wink Good news on offer and yay to night out, great excuse to celebrate Smile Are you going to start a thread?

Just back from gym, 1st time in 3wks, ouch it was painful. Out tonight for friend's b'day and then out for next in series of 40th's tomorrow night, should be fun but pity these things always end up back to back, can't handle all the partying without corresponding recovery time!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 06/01/2012 11:02

Just accepted an improved offer on the house they want to complete in Feb!!! Shock Just the littlematter of finding somehwere to buy...

Will start a thread later on night out.

UptoapointLordCopper · 06/01/2012 13:14

Good news Kew! You can stay in my shed rent-free if you can't find anything by February...

Have bought a vileda map on vbus' recommendation...

vbus · 06/01/2012 17:01

Copper - hope you like it, it does get in all the nooks and crannies Grin

Kew - excellent news, hope all goes without any hitches, happy house hunting!

Sfx - yes I'm now in that zone Grin this will be 5th 40th do we'll be attending. I suspect a few more this year and next year including my own Shock

OP posts:
Kora · 06/01/2012 19:25

Happy new year everyone! Wish you and yours all the best in 2012!

In meantime, the offer is fantastic news Kew, hurrah. Enjoy the house hunting and hope it all runs smoothly.

Vbus - well done on getting to the gym. I'm hoping to start some exercise soon again too, but haven't quite got round to it... And the house must be looking grand after new kitchen and carpet cleaning.

Sfx - fingers crossed for DH and well done on the fitness front too! Two 10k runs v impressive.

Copper - glad you had good hols. I dream of a new fridge, ours is just a bit scuzzy however much I wipe it down. Ah well, at least it works, we used to have one where the temperature gauge was stuck quite high and the milk only lasted two days.

In fact our whole place is rather a tip at the moment after we've spent so much time at home. Ah well, it was a nice holiday.

Definitely up for joining in with birthday celebrations with a night out Smile
