tillyfernackerpants · 13/04/2011 08:35

sfx, why have they taken that playground away? Confused It was the best one!

Am still coming despite sore throat [ouch]

sfxmum · 13/04/2011 09:27

hello

tilly no idea just saw a cluster of puzzled parents, obviously disappointed that their plan to avoid C&C had been thwarted, we just kept saying Why? Why?

hope you have a nice time sorry can't come as it would have been nice to see all, we just got up and are having breakfast

OP posts:
vbus · 13/04/2011 19:43

Pity about playground I thought it was great, what is there instead?

Tilly - lovely to see you earlier, DS1 said he had a good time with your boys Smile

Westwing - sorry you couldn't make was looking fwd to catching up, hope DS1 isn't suffering too much. Maybe next half term or summer we can visit you

Quiet a relaxed afternoon. Worked on school project with DS1 as a few parents complained about kids not getting enough homework ShockAngry

UptoapointLordCopper · 13/04/2011 20:08

Managed to get a lot done and even some playground time for DSs. Sorry to have missed kew outing though.

Not enough homework!? AngryAngry

Are people completely inert and depend solely on school to provide any input to their own children? I want to be left alone so I can teach my children things they don't learn in school.

sfxmum · 13/04/2011 20:12

copper I think the answer is yes plenty of people are not the least bit interested in educating their own children

vbus still don't know why, haven't had the time to check it out

went to visit family it was all chilled thankfully
we need a quiet day tomorrow staying very very local

OP posts:
sfxmum · 13/04/2011 20:12

westwing almost glad you did not make it as was looking forward to see youGrin hope all well

dustythedolphin · 13/04/2011 23:12

sfx I often finds the parents more hard work but that's just me Grin

Love the updates on KG and C&C

vbus · 14/04/2011 14:54

Thought we were going for playdate this morning but got taken to the Lensbury instead which was fab, boys really enjoyed themselves. Errands this afternoon plus DS1 got final swimming lesson. Think we'll have a quiet day tomorrow

Dusty -when are you next over?

tillyfernackerpants · 14/04/2011 17:27

vbus, boys enjoyed themselves too yesterday!

westwing, hope to see you next time, how's ds?

Went to the park this morning, stayed there till late this afternoon! Fortunately there is a cafe so we were able to get drinks/lunch etc. Ds1 and his friend had the tennis lesson as well which they really enjoyed. So will probably head back tomorrow!

sfxmum · 15/04/2011 10:09

vbus · 15/04/2011 16:00

Sfx - aaargggh to HSM Grin

Been to library this morning, having chilled afternoon before parties start again over the wkend

Making Lancashire hotpot, haven't made it since I was 13 so I hope it turns out alright

Kewcumber · 16/04/2011 11:29

off to transport museum today - complete with broken hand with plaster already nearly falling off. Think they will remove it on Monday as its about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

sfxmum · 16/04/2011 12:43

KewC hope all is well texted you yesterday enjoy museum

vbus since then there have been a few more viewings Shock

my run/ walk malarkey is finally turning a corner as I am now running longer than I have been walking, my next session will be my longest at 70min
it seem counter intuitive but it has really improved the fitness much faster despite the occasional frustration

hope everyone has a lovely weekend

tilly book should be done by this time next week, so it is yours

OP posts:
dustythedolphin · 18/04/2011 16:31

Vbus not sure of next visit as am trying to get the house move sorted, though kids are nagging me for UK visit and I really feel like nipping over soon. Would be nice to see you :)

Angry @ "not enough homework" - pushy parent alert methinks

SFX KA book is FAB, just finishing it. Very impressed at your runni9ng now. 70 minutes is great, how far is that? I can now run for 3 minutes Blush

IKWYM about parents being more hard work, notthing worse than neurotic middle class mothers Wink, though my Jewish friend swears there is nothing worse than neurotic Jewish middle class mothers Grin

Neck strain still hurting, might have to go to doctor

sfxmum · 18/04/2011 17:45

hello

dusty be nice to see you at some point
will read KA over the Summer after the exam I think, hope still funny

re parent she is hard work in a different way, mostly by constantly complaining about her child and how her life was so much better before, never putting any boundaries and saying yes to everything the child screamingly demands. I ended up putting my foot down and laying down the law Blush the child said I was very nice at the endGrin

anyway about the running at present my fitness is really rubbish so I am building up with a couch to 10K programme hence the 70 run walk although more running than walking, seems to be working, it was just under 6 miles so I am pleased

might do cinema again tomorrow and hope Rio is better than Hop

Have had a lovely day at Kew with one of ds1's school friends. Though vbus did walk right by us & didn't even say hello!

sfxmum · 19/04/2011 17:39

maybe she received an invite from Wills&Kate and will not talk to the likes of you so thereGrin

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/04/2011 19:06

Hello!

Hope you are all well! Just back from lovely lovely Edinburgh. Smile

vbus · 19/04/2011 19:38

Sorry Tilly didn't see you! Where were you? You should've come and said hello to us Grin Kew was fab today, we all loved it Smile DS2 made friends with a peacock, he went right up to it and stood by him for ages, they seemed to like each other Hmm

As for Royal invite, DS1 was initially most put out that he wasn't invited until I explained why. Last wkend at my bro's he told my bro that it was ok that he wasn't going as they had only invited royal people Grin

Copper- did you have a good trip?

Dusyt - can understand you want to see house through. Totally agree with pushy parents though Angry

Sfx- pretty good news on the running front, glad knee is better. How was cinema?

Went to Bushy yesterday which was great too. Quiet day tom after all these outings

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/04/2011 21:14

Trip was good. Stayed at pretty central flat, but failed to go shopping. Hmm A Lakeland just round the corner too. Grin Basically walked and climbed. Such a beautiful town.

sfxmum · 19/04/2011 21:46

copper did you buy cake/kitchen gear? Grin I really want to go to Edinburgh glad you had a good time

vbus/tilly i might actually make it to Kew tomorrow dd asked for a quiet day on a picnic blanket magazines books and a picnic Hmm
we will probably be back at Kew on Friday with family and Sunday for the egg hunt as usual

vbus we have not made it to cinema yet a few other activities got in the way an now it is just too sunny and nice to be indoors but doubtless the rain will come before long

now as for running there might be a spanner in the works i felt fine and string but something else got cropped up and the doctor now wants to run tests, most annoying

OP posts:
sfxmum · 19/04/2011 21:46

strong not stringHmm

Copper, sounds fab. I love Edinburgh, one of my favourite cities. DH was born near there and one of his first memories was losing his shoe in a rabbit hole on Arthur's seat and having to hop downhill (about 3 years' old). Nothing's changed Grin

Kew - hope DS is on the mend, poor love. Sounds like it will be a relief when the plaster comes off!

Sfx - well done on running! I've decided I'm just going to go cycling again, even if I have to go solo rather than in a family outing, must move my arse Smile

Tilly and Vbus, glad you're enjoying the sun at Kew Gardens! Not surprised you missed each other Grin - it's packed at the moment apparently.

Can't wait til Easter!!! Two bank holiday weekends, bring it on. Sun, please stay out.

Kora · 19/04/2011 22:13

Ooh, by the way, the South Bank meltdown tickets are out, see www.southbankcentre.co.uk/find/festivals-series/ray-davies-meltdown Unfortunately, they've chosen the dates we're on holiday! But thought I'd share in case anyone else was waiting for it.

vbus · 20/04/2011 15:53

Hello

Kora - good luck with cycling. Link looks good

Sfx - Hope you're feeling alright. Enjoy Kew, we'll miss hunt this yr but friend is having one in her garden on friday so that will have to do!

Having a day at home, Ds1 friend came round to play this morning which was nice. Doing little as poss this afternoon as both boys (and me!) are tired. Parents have offered to take the boys tomorrow, I desperately need the time to pack and sort house out before going away at wkend, plus need to nip to Kingston to get last min hols stuff. Plan is to fit in gym after doing jobs and maybe a drink out in the evening if they stay over there too, it's going to be another busy day Smile
