sfxmum · 24/02/2011 09:39

hello

vbus heyGrin I think you will all love it

rash with its raised heads and red patches is gone, we might have a couple of extra wrinklesHmm

hope everyone enjoys the weather respite

Paddlechick666 · 24/02/2011 17:52

Hello again!

Mental busy at work so even tho I'm back I barely have time to keep an eye on you lot!

We are around tomorrow/Sat or Sun if anyone fancies catching up?

Am toying with the idea of the Museum of London - think they have the state carriages there which will appeal to dd's Princess gene (clearly a throwback or one from the milkman!!).

Who's doing what Festies then? We are doing Glasto, as ever, and Lounge on The Farm. School are going to spit when I put my absence reqs in LOL.

Smile
UptoapointLordCopper · 24/02/2011 19:08

Hello!

sfx - glad DD ok. Once DS2 had unidentified rash all over tummy. GP adamant it was measles. Hmm Rash gone the next day. Kiddies at the nursery at that time had same thing. Who knows what it was. Hope you and DH has recovered too!

We only had a few days absence so far. Teachers and staff seem quite supportive of having fun. Shock

No festivals for us. Can't quite face the idea of people. But must get on and buy tent before camping trip.

I've seen state carriages before but can't remember which museum...

Kewcumber · 24/02/2011 20:13

Ni festivals for us this year - no money but scraped together enough and booked New Forest camping Paddle if you're going and will probably go to Wickstead too. Otehr than that Mums caravan (will be rented out this year if anyone is interested - spam email being prepared as we speak!)

sfxmum · 24/02/2011 20:23

paddle not sure about tomorrow will have to see how it goes, bit too tired today but be lovely to see you sometime dd often talks of your dd and mellow's dd

the place in Wales is St Dogmaels and the cottage is high on the hills and has a fab view of the estuary I hope it is nice in other ways too

copper people at festivals are generally fine its an atmosphere kind of thing I enjoy it, but as much as I love the family outings I am kinda yearning for a good old Festival like Reading maybe on a day ticket?

UptoapointLordCopper · 24/02/2011 21:05

I am yearning for a day's shopping. Don't even have anything I really want to buy. Just want to shut down for a bit.

dustythedolphin · 25/02/2011 21:50

Kew where is your Mum's caravan? (always looking for cheap accomodation for Uk breaks)

tillyfernackerpants · 25/02/2011 23:33

I have a favour to ask. Is it possible anyone could babysit Sunday 6 March? We wouldn't be back until between 11pm-midnight though.

I wouldn't ask but we've got the chance of a night out but have no babysitter!! I would, of course, return the favour!

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 25/02/2011 23:48

Dusty - its in Selsey (south coast near chichester)

Sorry Tilly - I'm not a good babysitter as I'd have to bring my own DS along! Daytimes possible though...

vbus · 26/02/2011 13:25

hello

Been a busy but fun few days.

Tilly - I might be able to do it, need to check with DH first. I'll text you later

Sfx - hope you're feeling less tired now. Would be up for Reading s.t. line up and babysitting arrangements Grin

Paddle - would love to meet but sorry not free this wkend Sad

copper - hope you're out shopping and not reading this at home

Dh sepnt most of last night at A&E. After few drinks one of his friend's decided to jump a fence but instead got impaled Shock. DH got home at 4am but friend had to stay at hospital and is having surgery today Shock

I'm staying over at friend's tonight (one who had party in tea room), looking fwd to it, especially the lie-in!

sfxmum · 26/02/2011 18:39

hello

took dd to cinema at her request and seriously advise against Yogi Bear it is dire, even she got really bored about half hr in, very lame.
but over all we had a nice outing Grin

vbus Reading line up not announced yet some smaller stages have good rumours going but hear My chemical Romance might headline which is not a good thing in my book, shall wait and see a Saturday day ticket would be great

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/02/2011 18:53

Hello!

We had an outing to Bath yesterday. Went very well. A good time was had by all. Though not very impressed with train company's inability to reserve correct seats. Hmm And with some people's idea that their coats/handbags etc need a seat. HmmHmm

Crash course on Romans and their preference for hot baths. Grin

Did go shopping today, but only to BHS. Shockingly bought three things, and this. Grin

Also completely puzzled by planters - why don't they have holes in the bottom? Do you have to drill your own holes? Or would the shop do it? Doubt if poundstretcher would? But must plant things now! Have sown two chilli plants - one purple and one cream. Have plenty more seeds if anyone is interested.

Have also decided on another hand blender instead of a food processor. Progress all round!

sfxmum · 26/02/2011 19:59

like the T-shirt and love Bath, have lovely memories of long weekend spent there with dh pre dd, be great to get back
it was such a long time ago before the Roman baths fiasco/ revamp

dustythedolphin · 26/02/2011 21:15

Vbus , hope your DH is OK and that none of his gems got impaled! Shock

Copper glad you had a nice day in Bath. I've always assumed that you just put the cheapy plastic pot with holes into the posh pot with no holes, but I am hopeless at garedening/house plants so probably wrong Blush

TShirt looks fab!

Kew, thanks I will look up Selsey

Saw house today with awesome views of Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher, with waves crashing onto beach a couple of hundred metres away...I covet the views Envy

DH wants us to offer on a different (period) property

What to choose, period features or location. location, location?

Its hard to get period properties here, as farmers used to take the roofs of houses to avoid the property taxes, so there are lots of ruins but very few old houses intact. Its only really properties owned by the church, schools and pubs which have survived

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/02/2011 21:18

Dusty - location, I think. You can change features but moving location is not so easy. BTW I've gone for Bosch hand blender instead of food processor. Ordered. Will let you know how we get on, since curry to be cooked next weekend.

sfxmum · 26/02/2011 22:00

dolphin that sounds perfect I miss the sea a lot

copper once my ancient hand blender breaks I have that bosh on my sights seems like a good choice

vbus goodness yes what on earth possessed to jump the fence? glad he is ok, now you can slap himGrin

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/02/2011 22:06

Now trying to decide what tent to buy. Shopping spree! Grin

sfxmum · 27/02/2011 14:42

a tent lovely happy shopping

dh's bike was stolen this morning he was off at Richmond park doing his long run, got back all tired and sweaty after 11 miles and it was gone along with his jumper, he was quite frozen by the time he made it home

I think I will take dd to Kingston tomorrow for lunch and shopping, she likes the 65 bus ride, then spend a quiet Tuesday getting ready for school. things slowly getting back to normal

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/02/2011 19:12

Hello!

sfx - poor DH. Is he reporting the theft?

Envy at extra days off. We are back to school tomorrow.

Am now contemplating thermos food jar for DS1. Does anyone use them?

sfxmum · 27/02/2011 19:19

he did report it the bike was registered and so on, the local police seem to be reasonably successful in recovering stolen bikes but we are insured anyway

good luck with school dd has been going to bed late we haven't even had dinner yet, some adjustments required

just bought a new shiny toy gadget Shock

sfxmum · 27/02/2011 19:20

I have a small thermos but it says for cold food only although it says it keeps things hot for X amount of timeConfused

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/02/2011 19:46

Have ordered a thermos food jar. Must really stop buying things now. It's time for Wine.

dustythedolphin · 27/02/2011 23:18

Wine here too, tho' must go to bed soon

SFX my Mum used to take us (all for of us) on the 65 bus to Kingston for shopping and Bentalls for lunch (sausage, chips and peas) when we were children (during school hols), you just reminded me of it! Hope DD enjoys the trip as much as we used to :)

We only got 2 days half term here in Ireland. Then after Easter we get a straight run until end of June (less half terms and longer summer breaks). I quite miss the week off in Feb Envy its a nice winterish break with no pressure

vbus · 28/02/2011 09:01

Hello

Wine last night too along with 'Social Network', I really enjoyed the film. Night at friend's was really nice and chilled, gave us lots of time to catch up, just what I needed

Copper - which tent have you chosen? Blender looks good. I have my Braun one since I was 16 and it's still going strong!

Sfx - it wasn't DH who jumped fence, it was his friend!! His wife is livid but thankfully surgery went well, he is very very Blush, Grin
Any news on bike?

Dusty - will be nice to have a long summer Smile

Have inset day here too, need to find something to do indoors Hmm
