sfxmum · 28/02/2011 09:27

dusty dd would say 'what did they have the 65 bus in the olden days when you were little? Amazing and you are so old' she likes to emphasise that oneHmmGrin

vbus I see well that makes more sense thought they both got injured

not seen any Oscar movies yet apart from Inception which was good, I have Scott Pilgrim to watch looking forward to it

Oscar frock watch I really like the Scarlet Johanson one lovely colour and all not sure what Nicole and Gwyneth were wearing looked awful to me
am really shallow

think will stay at home instead of shopping away I did not wake up feeling energetic enough and have stuff to do neighbours are back so hopefully dd will be busy

vbus · 28/02/2011 09:40

Agreed Gwyneth's dress was hideous, Scarlett always looks fab!

Going to try Kidzone with friend, have not been for years but at least boys can have a run around as weather so grim

sfxmum · 28/02/2011 10:31

going book tickets for Sufjan Stevens they go on sale today for South Bank Members, very excited, it is in May

UptoapointLordCopper · 28/02/2011 11:24

Good morning!

Shopping spree not over yet - now have to get new gas meter box, and family railcard. Not very exciting though...

vbus · 28/02/2011 15:30

UptoapointLordCopper · 28/02/2011 18:37

rhubarb crumble is the heigh of my efforts today

vbus · 28/02/2011 19:22

I made my pepper pasta sauce but decided to crumble feta into instead of usual cheese, delicious. Just waiting for Ds1 to go to bed then can tuck in!

tillyfernackerpants · 28/02/2011 19:27

Back to school tomorrow! I haven't made anything today Blush, need to start making more of an effort

vbus, pepper sauce sounds yummy, would you mind bringing recipe tomorrow?

OP posts:
vbus · 28/02/2011 20:43

Tilly - no probs, but it's my mum's recipe that she used to make when I was young so no real measurements IYKWIM Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 28/02/2011 21:11

vbus - forgot to reply: This one. Maybe. With extension. Maybe.

I am such a ditherer.

sfxmum · 28/02/2011 21:47

copper that looks like the replacement for my discontinued model

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/03/2011 09:25

I've had enough of this school routine now. When is the next holiday?

vbus · 01/03/2011 13:00

Coppe - I think that's one the one we've been trying to buy! Looked at so many now they are all starting to blur Grin

Tilly - nice to see you both earlier Smile

Going to make lamb curry today & rice pudding

sfxmum · 01/03/2011 13:20

vbus is it fusion St David's fare? Grin

copper what I meant to say was that that one seems to have dealt with the problem which I am trying to fix buy buying the extension

last inset day and dh working from home

the tickets I wanted went on sale this morning for Southbank centre members, it took me 40min to get through and when I did it took 4 attempts to get seats they kept disappearing click by clickGrin

I can never get tickets for shows there and that is why I got the membership but still you got to be quick

vbus · 01/03/2011 13:39

Sfx - maybe I should serve it with a daffodil on the side Grin

Glad you got tickets. My bro wants to go to new Heston restaurant for his b'day, they opened reservations today for 3mths time but lines keep crashing, fingers crossed he gets through

sfxmum · 01/03/2011 13:42

disclaimer: i do care, guv. just that will deal with outcome and decide what to do as events unfold.
fingers crossed, though!

happy st david's day, kew!

brrrrr, bloody cold, eh?

very envious of extra inse(c)t days. i'm with you, professor, school gets in the way of life.

mother-in-law now back in oz so don't have to pretend to be nice anymore Grin

ok, know i'm probably the only person in the world who hasn't read birdsong?
shall i leave it like that??
toodlepip

sfxmum · 01/03/2011 13:59

steppie about Birdsong I did read it and enjoyed it mostly because it was a big intro to the wars along with the Pat Barker Regeneration series
these days I probably would not read it just because the author has revealed himself to be an utter arse

stepfordwife · 01/03/2011 14:06

hmm, yes indeed, sfx the arse factor is another thing to consider Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/03/2011 14:29

I read the girl at the lion d'or many years ago and swore never ever to read another book by that person. And he has shown himself to be an utter arse.

steppie - agree - never waste time worrying about things before you have to.

UptoapointLordCopper · 01/03/2011 14:30
St Davids

Our daffodils are just starting to bloom. And crocuses. Smile

tillyfernackerpants · 01/03/2011 15:44

I liked Birdsong, what has he done to reveal himself as an arse?

Steppie, good luck for school places

vbus, nice to catch up earlier, thanks for recipe, cooking it as we speak Grin

World Book Day Fri, ds1 wants to go as a prince, I'm bribing gently persuading him into another direction, not sure what though, keeps changing his mind!

OP posts:
dustythedolphin · 01/03/2011 16:42

Steppie hope you get your 1st choice for DS1 :)

Copper our next bank holiday is 17 March here, national saints Wine day Wink

I have five annual leave days to use prior to 31 March and will savour every single hard earnt one!

I haven't read Birdsong either but since I had 3rd DC my taste in books has degenerated to books that are very unchallenging (white bread for the brain, so me auld brain doesn't have to chew too hard to digest them)

vbus · 01/03/2011 16:55

Tilly - I hope it turns out ok, just keep tasting it and season accordingly!

Steppie - good luck for selection, hope you get what you want

Dusty - LOL re: books, I haven't read Birdsong eitehr, I guess it's one I should read at some point...also intrigued about author now. I have just finished reading Courdroy mansions, not challenging but v. enjoyable.

I have recently joined a book group to allow me to read books I wouldn't normally choose. I have one mth to read this, anyone read it already?
