sfxmum · 16/02/2011 12:21

our shoots came up but now looking distinctly dry, we have been quite bad with plants lately, might still be rescuable

the snowdrops outside came up

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 12:37

We have the grand total of THREE snowdrops ...

vbus · 16/02/2011 13:01

hello Paddle Smile welcome back! Are you coming on night out?

Hope poorly ones (incl. KC ) are feeling better today

I thought T was for toast, aren't tomatoes v. acidic?

Kora - sorry to hear about your grandma Sad can't be easy especially with everything being so hectic for you atm

Weather is lovely outside, Springlike. DS1 seems ok, I think tiredness is the main culprit not helped by his cough plus DS2 now waking at 5.50am regularly waking us all up, yawn, yawn.

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 18:13
. Shock
stepfordwife · 16/02/2011 19:14

Smile Wine Grin
yay!
welcome back, lovie.

sorry about your grandma, kora. even when expected, it's hard.

hope all poorly dcs getting better.
how are the ABs doing, kew?

all ok here, could do with a bit more quiet, tho, kids have had friends over every day since friday Shock
that'll do for the year, surely...

always thought it was a myth and nurture vs nature and all that malarkey....but boys and girls really are different, you know.. Grin

boys' friends over: feed them large amounts, growl at them approx every 15 minutes to to tell them to get off roof/stop waving big sticks above their heads/stop half-killing each-other on the trampoline...then feed them again...repeat...

girl's friends over: much quieter, got to be said, but more hissy fits and delicate, tactful negotiations over dressing up box rage...sigh....and my dd is a tomboy!

and vbus and tilly, sfx..it is really hard when they feel left out at school and adjust to fickle evolving friendships.
i remember being gutted years ago when ds1 said:"...AND I sat on the friendship bench and no-one came to get me.."
Sad Grin

ok, better go and clear up tip of a kitchen.

stepfordwife · 16/02/2011 19:15

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 22:13

steppie I find the two flavours have their separate saving gracesGrin

dd told me my sisters today that our house was a disgrace, totally messy Shock

finally sent essay with a full 2 hrs to go before deadline, now can just sit and fret

goodness that was substandard

looked like a pretty day from indoors

cheers Wine I wish

Brew will have to do

vbus · 17/02/2011 17:07

hello

Sfx - well done on getting essay done in time, what a relief!

Steppie- LOL at descriptions of girl v boy play Grin I've noticed DS1 plays differently when with girls

Copper - some people have too much time on their hands!

mad the mistake of watching Masterchef last night, Greg is already doing my head in

tillyfernackerpants · 17/02/2011 17:35

I quite like Masterchef, but Greg is annoying!!

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 17/02/2011 20:38

No masterchef for me this time. Have never picked up a single tip from masterchef, and that's the only reason I watch cooking programmes.

No school tomorrow! Yeah!!!

tillyfernackerpants · 17/02/2011 20:57

Copper, from Masterchef I learnt that scallops should never be chewy Grin

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 17/02/2011 21:12

Lovely teppanyaki scallops from Sen Nin in Ealing. Smile

tillyfernackerpants · 17/02/2011 21:21

We'll have to go there one day!!

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2011 09:11

Hello!

We are off to Kew to see snowdrops and to freeze.

vbus · 18/02/2011 13:02

Copper - have fun Smile

Tilly Grin I asked Ds2 what he wanted for lunch today he said 'beans, corn and crabs' Shock I think Masterchef is rubbing off on him Grin

Tried a new drop-in music group today which was really good

Can't believe half term almost upon us, I think DS1 really needs the break!

sfxmum · 18/02/2011 16:08

hello all

copper hope you enjoyed Kew certainly looked like a nice day for it

half term here last until next Wednesday dd needs the break after being poorly for most of the week, only back yesterday and today, but still seems remarkably energetic regaling all with tales of vomit, frequency and colour, the girl likes detail

Grin
UptoapointLordCopper · 18/02/2011 18:04

Kew was lovely. Nice snowdrops. Nice crocuses emerging. But six hours of non-stop relentless activeness. Shock And they are still going. I'm exhausted.

tillyfernackerpants · 18/02/2011 22:38

copper, have a Wine

vbus, Grin at ds1's lunch, at least he didn't ask for scallops!!

Ds1 had a friend over after school today, and they played so well together, I didn't have to do anything Grin

dustythedolphin · 19/02/2011 08:56

Paddle Hi!!! nice to see you back, think I met the wierdness you allude to...Hmm

I am the one who moved to Ireland but have no new friends Grin Wink so still haunt this thread sometimes

You & Kew should come over for a visit this year!

Brew lemsip for me this morning as am all sore throaty

Copper I love that link - have put it on FB Grin

Steppie so true about DS vs DD playdates!!!

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/02/2011 10:43

Good morning!

Pretty wet and miserable weather.

Scallops ... Yum!

UptoapointLordCopper · 19/02/2011 10:44

Dusty - glad you like the lego vid. There seems to be a lot of Lego-obsessed, time-rich weirdos creative types out there.

dustythedolphin · 19/02/2011 19:42

Copper love that dramatic music = did wonder slightly about who would have time to make all those cardboard instruments and then take the trouble to conconct the vid, inlcuing dramatic close ups of lego conductor Grin

Vbus, Shock at DS asking for "crab" for lunch! Followed by a babychino no doubt Wink

Had a very sunny warm spring-like day here Shock and double Shock...no doubt back to the dreary weather tomorrow

Have been househunting again and being mindful of MN advice re location, location, location
