I got this
and some floor tiles hope it works well I forgot to measure, it was what I meant to do ans somehow didn't

vbus · 15/02/2011 13:32

hello all

Tilly - lovely to catch up with you earlier Smile

Sfx - extension looks good, you've broken Dh's no.1 rule 'measure twice and cut once' Grin Hope it will fit

dusty - good luck with househunting, defo get the location right and the house you can always extend

Kew - nice to bump into you at wkend, hope you feel better soon

Steppie/Sfx - There is something quite sexy about MB GrinBlush

Copper - where was Singaporean food? I went to one S'pore restaurant in London ages ago and loved it

Had parents evening last night, and teacher is really pleased with DS1 which is good to hear. He however is super tired and getting quite emotional about changing friendships. I feel Sad, I left him at school today and he was was just stood there on his own

tillyfernackerpants · 15/02/2011 20:20

vbus, lovely to see you too! I know we chatted a bit earlier but I'm sure ds1 is fine, I think atm there seems to be a lot of shifting around between groups and people which is what upsets ds1 sometimes. I think in time it will all settle down, just a huge learning curve!

sfx, did you manage to get your essay done? Hope dd is better

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 15/02/2011 20:27

vbus - Rasa Sayang. Cheapish (though not if you think Malaysian prices), decent fare.

sfx - where/when are you going camping?

sfxmum · 15/02/2011 20:45

vbus it is though but they learn and I say this as a mother of a girl who often spends time on her own and tells me all about what other girls do that she does not like, can be sad but it is interesting to see them develop ways of dealing with it and continue to be happy ans settled

copper we are likely to go to one or two summer festivals not sure we would go for camping alone iyswim maybe sometime we will go camping in France

tilly I managed a fair bit it now needs editing and organising, will leave most of that for tomorrow I think

dd will be home again as she was sick again today

sfxmum · 15/02/2011 20:47

I mean the deadline is tomorrow so have a few hrs still the plan was to leisurely do it over 3 days and have time to check stuff carefully while doing other necessary things around the house, alas it was not to be

I miss running too very poor show this month

sfxmum · 15/02/2011 20:47
Brew
Kewcumber · 15/02/2011 20:51

yes vbus - nice to see you. We had a good time with friends and you probably won;t be surprised to hear I am on AB's for cough!

Kora · 15/02/2011 21:08

Hi everyone, hope you're all reasonably well. Been a bit frazzled and braindead recently, think it's catching up on me this going back to work lark. DD2 waking up at 5am every morning and general mayhem trying to keep up with DD1's activities, especially as it's the first time I'm throwing her a proper kiddie party and I'm finding it a bit of a palaver. And grandma died - it was sort of expected but still hard. From trivial stresses to major upheaval, it's all go! Basically, can't wait to catch up for our night out and a few medicinal glasses of wine. SmileWine Hope people are doing ok, from what I can see there's quite a lot going on with school stuff and illnesses! Roll on spring and the holidays. By the way, what's this about a programme with lots of male "talent"? Might be a good distraction...

tillyfernackerpants · 15/02/2011 21:36

Hi Kora, sorry to hear you've been having a rough time, hope things settle down a bit. Male talent programme was Mad Dogs which is on Sky Atlantic I think. Though I'm much more interested in the BSG rerun they're showing Grin

Hello ladies Grin

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 09:15

paddleShockGrin wave

Kora sorry for your loss and hope things ease a bit soon

kewC how is the chest? hope ABs help

tilly I haven't quite managed to catch the re runs just part of the second episode, love it so much

dd still not well, she was sick again last night and early this morning, dh might come home early today and he will be working from home for the rest of the week so he can look after dd

off to finish essay still a few hrs to go, dd entertained thanks to Mary Poppins

Paddlechick666 · 16/02/2011 09:19

I don't know who anyone is anymore - except those who haven't name changed.

I figure it's time enough for various past weirdness not to be repeated!

Sorry people/kids are sick, dd has a vile cough and has had me awake since 5am. Still at least I got an early start on work!

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 09:27

bright side and all that
did you send a hit squad to weirdness? Grin

hope dd is ok now, before Christmas our school was hit by a couple of bugs that just knocked her class and it seems to have returned, she is not the only one

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 09:28

Good morning!

The sun! The sun!

If it's clear sky tonight we will be spotting Sirius, in the south east. I love my constellation software.

Kora - sorry for your loss. Sad

Hope ill LOs recover soon.

Now to dull dull work.

Paddlechick666 · 16/02/2011 09:30

arg! who is vbus? I suspect only Kew knows the full details of the weirdness.

Yes dd's entire class has it from what I can gather. Christ on a bike but I pity the teachers - just one hacking cough is driving me insane.

Am seriously wondering if dd will make it to the end of the week - she is yet to have a "last day of term" as she was sick before Oct half term and Xmas!

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 09:37

vbus is your friend that you brought over

last term the class was divided between nasty coughs and vomiting, we got the cough then and have moved on to the other half

copper the sun is fighting and so far not being very successful in making an appearance

dd now wants french breadHmm not sure it is the best for and empty sore tummy

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 09:47

did anyone watch the Dimbleby lecture with Michael Mopurgo? look it up on iplayer

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 10:03

Still have the sun over here. Smile

We always had watery rice porridge when we were ill. With something salty and gingery to help it down.

sfxmum · 16/02/2011 10:11

that is what my mum used to do, she point blank refused it yesterday

really must start writing but every time I start a sentence I am summoned and loose train of thought, might sneak in a short run when dh gets here

Paddlechick666 · 16/02/2011 10:15

ah yes! vbus will also know the majority.

toast was all we were allowed post vomit bug. They say BRAT don't they? Bread Rice Apple and something beginning with T but can't think what!

We usually go for a soft boiled egg and some toast - try to steer clear of too much dairy.

I should say French bread is okay - maybe just the doughy bits rather than the crust?

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 10:37

Have a strange craving for thin watery rice porridge with ginger and soya sauce chicken now. And I'm not even ill.

My kids won't eat rice porridge either. It's very bad. Must try to indoctrinate them again. HmmGrin

Kewcumber · 16/02/2011 10:42

T = tomato

Kewcumber · 16/02/2011 10:42

or was it Tabasco?

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/02/2011 11:49

sfx - our potted crocus has bloomed! It's yellow. (Can't remember what other colours I planted...)
