Sorry I haven't been on much lately. Ds2's birthday + parents visiting = manic time!!

Vbus, hope ds1's play went well!

Ds1 off school today, woke up with a temp this morning. I had hoped he'd escaped the illnesses but apparently not. All he wants to do is watch films but ds2 getting bored!!

Anyway, best go, will be back later & will catch up with everyone properly!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 15/12/2010 14:51

I am a tad grumpy
HmmXmas Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/12/2010 14:54

No illnesses (yet) in our school. DS2's play yesterday. He looked and acted suitably gormless. DS1's play today. A little girl in yr1 sang very well - very impressive.

Hope everyone else is well!

sfxmum · 15/12/2010 15:53

I just have to keep thinking gym tomorrow double class oh yes

vbus · 15/12/2010 16:27

Hello all

Sfx - like your motivation Xmas Grin Glad dd better. Mine ok, been to school but think he's wiped out now.

Tilly - sorry to hear Ds1 is ill. DS2 was also bored being housebound. Play went well thanks for asking!

Westwing - I'm sure you'll look fab in your new dresses. IKWYM about knackered jeans on a night out. I have one pair which are only for going out but could do with some new jeans for everyday. I like skirts too for everyday as a change from jeans!

Just waiting for food shop to arrive. Have to take DS1 for hospital check up tom rowth/allergy monitoring, I'm hoping it will be the last time we have to go Hmm

Hope everyone well

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/12/2010 17:11

Kids are "clearing" the table so there's space to eat. I'm sitting here MNing. What time do you think we'd be having tea!?

vbus · 15/12/2010 19:56

Copper - hope you've eaten by now Grin

Think I'm going to have a tv night, I'm so knackered plus Dh back late again so trash tv it is then Grin.

Have made up a hamper for IL's to take to France. It looks good but I think it needs a bottle of something to liven it up

UptoapointLordCopper · 15/12/2010 20:00

Kids actually tidied up in 5 minutes. Shock Must have been hungry.

Made shortbread today. Yummy! But not good enough for the kids. Have to have chocolate decoration.

vbus - missed the going to France business. Are you going or just ILs?? A bottle of something never goes amiss. In fact I'm going to get myself a part of a bottle of something now ...

sfxmum · 15/12/2010 20:08

a bottle of something is difficult when you don't know people well
my in laws are easy Gin for her single malt for him sorted Grin

dh home did not cook dinner am sure he can sort himself out, long to be left alone, will just pop headphones on and withdraw into me world

vbus · 15/12/2010 20:09

Copper - we're going to spend Xmas with IL's who live there. MIL has invited my bro as well so should be good

sfxmum · 15/12/2010 20:10

copper short bread is good value for the lingering smell alone, so yummy, adding chocolate is just gilding the lilly imo

vbus · 15/12/2010 20:11

FIL has already got bottle of whisky for pressie and MIL does love gin but was thinking more along the lines of a dessert wine or a sparkling wine to go in Hamper, something a bit more unusual

Enjoy me world, I'm about to indulge too!

sfxmum · 15/12/2010 20:15

a good Port is traditional as is a good vintage Brandy or Champagne non? some independent shops advice well and within budget, it is worth trying

vbus I will be booking tickets for March, union chapel gig need something to look forward to but Jan/Feb listings not terribly inspiring

vbus · 15/12/2010 20:18

My bro is bringing some port and seeing as we're going to the home of brandy I think I'll have to think of something they like but can't get so readily where they are...

Do let me know if anything exciting coming up, always good to have something to look fwd to Smile

sfxmum · 15/12/2010 20:47

vbus perhaps the mention of France made me think of all thoseGrin

sfxmum · 16/12/2010 09:48

dd at school but I did not quite make it to the gym, feel utterly exhausted, did not sleep much

hope everyone is well

vbus · 16/12/2010 13:36

There are lots of famous brandy and champagne houses about 10mins from IL's place, visited a few (all prekids though!)

I'm exhausted too, not great sleep here either with illnesses going on

Hospital visit was fine, just have to come back in 6mths time again

Have friend coming round tonight. He met a girl from Guardian online about a year ago and just texted me to say that he proposed at wkend, can't wait to hear all the details tonight!

sfxmum · 16/12/2010 13:55

vbus glad to hear hospital visit went well
how very modern of friend Grin glad it seems to be working out

miss dd but at least today she seems to be making it to a full day

vbus · 16/12/2010 14:27

that is good dd feeling better. Hope you had a rest today. Just realised not doing school run saves me an 1hr/day plus a few grey hairs Xmas Grin

Off to playdate this afternoon which will be nice

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/12/2010 14:43

Been out. Xmas Smile

People meeting people on the internet!? Xmas ShockXmas Grin

sfxmum · 16/12/2010 16:31

sfxmum · 16/12/2010 17:26

steppie I agree they are all super tired

weekend will be busy and then will try to chill out before heading north

Misfits finale tonight so excited, can't watch the special next week as will be at inlaws and it would probably be rude to make excuses and get lost in weird teen show Hmm then again...
