Vendor is now saying he will accept E80,000 and we have upped our offer to E75,000 "best and final offer" Grin

Kew what is WTC, that you may be entitled to?

PC sounds as though DD is adapting well :)

Kewcumber · 02/09/2010 15:25

working tax credits

vbus · 02/09/2010 20:37

Hello all

PCW - that is rotten luck you didn't know about inset day Sad Hope you're feeling better and glad the DC seem so settled. Has your coat arrived yet? still waiting for mine.
Copper - don't give up hope, mine was half price once I shopped around, so I'm desperately hoping it will be 'the one' Grin

Kew - worth considering if you think it will make you happier

Dusty - did they take your offer? Nerve racking stuff

Sfx - glad school is going so well. That's good news about Dh joining rowing club

Went to Kew again today, so lovely with this extended summer. DC loved the new playground near cottage. Made damson tarts today with fruit from garden to go with veg lasgane. DS1 didn't eat much veg, he said he ate the squash and carrots as he liked them. I asked why he didn't eat his courgettes to which he replied, I like corvettes not corgettes! That was me told Grin

dustythedolphin · 02/09/2010 20:44

Sh*t the vendor has accepted the offer at but the estate agent says he wants to keep it on the market until we exchange contracts

I am flippin' livid

I have told estate agent that if its not taken off the market then I am withdrawing the offer. It can't be sale agreed and still on the market at the same time FFS Angry

I suspect they are playing games with us !'cos I is English" Angry

The vendor has been trying to sell the house for 2.5 years and the estate agent (or perhaps the vendor?) has decided to play stupid bl**dy games

UptoapointLordCopper · 02/09/2010 20:44

Legoland today! Exhausted now ...

dustythedolphin · 02/09/2010 20:45

Hmmpphhh! Angry Angry Angry

Has this happened to any of you in the past?

dustythedolphin · 02/09/2010 20:46

Hope you had fun there Copper, did you go on any rides?

sfxmum · 02/09/2010 20:58

vbus 'I like corvettes not courgettes!' LOL priceless Grin
love damsons are you making damson jam too?

went to Kew about 4 times in the last 7 days well worth it

dolphin they might end up losing, keep your nerve

have been watching Madman season! from a box
set, totally addicted but sad to note not that much has changed, not at least in terms of mindsets

dd loved her first day back but is still awake after declaring eating loads and declaring herself exhausted, all that excitement Smile

OP posts:
sfxmum · 02/09/2010 21:00

that should be season 1

UptoapointLordCopper · 02/09/2010 21:02

Dusty - estate agent outrageous. Would have do the same thing as you. Can't be promising something and still open to other offers. Angry It's immoral.

Professor - you only have two children. It says on your profile. Grin

vbus - I'm having coat for birthday. Smile But must step up search.

UptoapointLordCopper · 02/09/2010 21:06

Dusty - we went on one splashy ride (DS2 not impressed with being wet, and my lovely new orange waterproof jacket is waterproof Grin), and a few tamer ones. They had to do separate driving school ones due to age. DS2's drive (age 3-5) was so much funnier. So many pile-ups. But DS2 successfully avoided all accidents. Quite good, really.

dustythedolphin · 02/09/2010 21:24

Copper that sounds great fun :) Envy

vbus · 02/09/2010 22:27

Copper - sounds like fun day out.

Dusty - we told vendor that we would only proceed on the condition house was taken off the market. We had to push for it but they did do that in the end. Good luck with your negotiations, if it's taken 2.5yrs for them to sell that puts you in a good position

Sfx - by the time Dh got home with the extra sugar I was too tired to make the jam so will do that tom and have frozen another batch for crumble some other day. There is so much fruit it's there for the picking if anyone wants any! my parents took a huge bag home with them too

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/09/2010 14:52

Hello!

sfx - thanks for tent and things! Got stuck behind horse-drawn carriage in Brentford on the way home. Pooey tyres.

sfxmum · 03/09/2010 20:07

lordcopper very welcome - horse and carriage Grin

vbus sounds delicious but can't go your way, not until Sunday and that is your family time I imagine, rest of week is tight

btw does anyone fancy meeting up in Kingston on Friday 10th for hand massage at Jo Malone? got a voucher it is free and they try to sell you somethingWinkwhile smelling lovely

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/09/2010 20:14

btw dd got Bratz out of the library it is infinitely worst than Barbie, I am weak I know but Libraries should have a sort of public service duty not to have crap for children (of weak parents)
anyway the trade off was she would also bring a proper film one of Miyazaki's

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/09/2010 20:15

am hoping she will hate the Bratz as she hated the Barbie one Blush

Cripes, SFX, I could do with a hand massage - currently have the hands of a 100 year old! (no offence meant to any 100 year-olds who may be logged on here).

Also I completely concur re: "Bratz" a hideous hideous concept, indeed. In fact today I bought dd a volume of lovely stories including Heidi, Little Women etc etc ... am determined to try and sidestep some of the dreadful "literature" that is around.

PS it is me here, the one in the sticks, hope you know who I am - it's just I have been outed at school already! AND hence name-change Grin

sfxmum · 03/09/2010 20:54

yes I know who you are the only person I know who says cripesGrin

hope back to school has been nice

OP posts:
odetothewestwind · 03/09/2010 21:29
Grin

Back to school is (was), I am pleased to report, GOOD!!! You are back next week, is that right? We have a big food and drink festival here all weekend which I am looking forward to, it seems to be quite a big deal.

UptoapointLordCopper · 03/09/2010 21:35

sfx - sent you an email. Shock at Bratz. Which Miyazaki film did you get? I've seen Spirited Away. Very complicated and weird, but so strangely compelling.

I think I can guess who Westwind is, but shall observe more posts before being sure...

sfxmum · 03/09/2010 22:42

lorcopper replied thanks Smile

westwind glad to hear it, we have been back since yesterday, next week things start going a bit more and after school activities kick in the week after, dd wants to do disco dancing and possibly Chinese too Hmmbut I think it will be too much with art classes and music

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/09/2010 22:44

got Howls moving castle, have Spirited Away, a favourite, but pretty much fell in love with Princess Mononoke

OP posts:
sfxmum · 03/09/2010 22:46
