Geneva Meet-Up Thread. Anyone for wine and chocolate by the lake?

Thought that we could use a seperate thread to save us hijacking TML's thread with our Geneva chat.

Who is interested?

Assuming some of us still have young kids, we could meet during the day for glass of wine coffee somewhere child friendly, or a picnic? Botanical Gardens? Parc de Eaux Vives? Or nearer Nyon area. Depends where you all are.

Or do you want to get out sans enfants in the evenings?

i have just come bac from a really exhausting week of househunting in Geneva. I will reluctantly agree that Geneva is pretty cool especially with clean blue skies and the mountains in their full glorious visibility- much better than when i went in september when it was a grey damp day!

anyway- we have put two offers in for apartments and are now keeping our fingers crossed that we get something. really looks like i'll see you all in just a couple of months!

1/2 hour from me. I drove through there recently, it is a nice area. Very villagy feel but well connected to the city.

Do have a good clear out before you move, I had a huge garage sale and earned enough for a night out with some friends before we left. And saved packing all the baby stuff up.

so hard to part with baby stuff though as it makes my longed for third baby an even remoter possibility... but who knows... maybe Chene-Bourg will be where dh finally agrees

I used to go to school near there. It's a good area but traffic much heavier than it used to be (so, what else is new?)

We are back from the UK.

MM cChene-bourg is very nice - I know a couple of people who live there and it is where my DDs school is (Scariboo did you used to go to the LGB campus of the GIS? ) - 5 mins on the tram and you are in the centre of town.

ML - I hope you had a good weekend away sans enfant - v. nice.

I can do the 29th or any other evening really!

My mum had a weekend in Blackpool last year with her friends.

She said it was really tacky and that they had to eat their evening meal at 5pm cause all the ohter old dears in the hotel wanted to get out in time for the bingo.

I have been nominated for the Halloween name change competition and am excited (how sad is that)
