Rightio - let's have an OZ/NZ rollcall for those of us here and moving to, because I can't keep up.

I keep seeing 'emigrating to Oz' and 'have left Oz' threads and I can't keep up with who's here and who's coming here and who's gone. And I only see about 4 of us posting too [stern looks all round].

So can we have a roll-call so I can see what's what?

Me - Arfishy. Sydney 3 years, DD - 5, DSS 17, DSS 23.

Blimey, have you been there a year now, ghosty?

ghosty · 04/06/2008 11:46

Been here since April 11th 2007 suzy ...
How are you, old bean? I am off to Blighty in 2 weeks for 3 weeks ...
Are you going to tell me to get a grip and toughen up re. the tick?

arfishy · 04/06/2008 12:50

Ah! Welcome back ghosty my old friend. How is Melbourne? I keep hearing good things about it.

Nope, you were clearly v.brave about the tick. Don't they fell wildebeest or something?

Oh ghosty - a tick yuk!!

glad to see things are okay and you are all okay.

Sibble · 04/06/2008 19:34

hi ghosty, have noted your absence!! we're off home in 4 weeks. having spent 2 years planning etc. ds soooooooo wants to see his grandad (think present fest) he's now in tears as he will miss the last 5 games of league - he thinks he's the next Reuben Wiki and can I change the flights - argh. Maybe catch you in blighty.

ghosty · 04/06/2008 22:49

Ha ha re. the tick felling wildebeest ...
When I took the little blighter into the Dr she was shocked and asked me where had I been ...
My response? "What do you mean, where have I been? I am in Australia ... is that not dangerous and exotic enough? Are there worse places for creepy crawlies?"
Apparently ticks are really rare in Melbourne [hhm]
But then they also tell me that big spiders are rare in the city (but I seem to have had 3 of the buggers in my house in less than a year!)
The doctor said she would send the tick away for analysis to check it wasn't a NSW Paralysis Tick. Suddenly I didn't feel all that well
Hello Sibble ... deffo want to see you in the UK if we can manage it somehow. Will email you. We leave in 2 weeks. DS is pissed off he is missing the school disco and 4 soccer matches ...

cool (am I too old to say that?)
DH has been made redundant which has put a bit of a spanner in the works but I think we're going to go ahead anyway as he does have other work, we just need to hope it goes permanent...

ghosty · 10/06/2008 10:04

MrsJC ... I didn't know about your DH ... what a PITA for you all ...
fingers crossed that it all works out
