Hi Guys

Have started us a new thread, hope you don't mind. With my dinosaur it takes me forever to scroll down to the bottom to post! (Don't ask)

Papillon - I am so happy for you. I hope things work out for you all. I am monitoring (auditing) drug trials atm (not for long I hope!!) Luckily Hastings HC is a smooth centre, the staff lovely and of course a great place to visit so it makes the trip worth while. Last time it was too hard to organise the boys for an overnight trip so I caught the first plane out, the last plane back and spent all day in a room with no windows going cross eyed counting drugs and checking records while the sun shone outside. NOw DH is practised in teh art of child care I will stay at least 1 night and hopfully see more than 4 walls.

ssshakethechi - you just have to come and join the ever growing band of NZ mumsnetters, we are growing by the day.

thanks all, it did heal well, I was in 2 minds whether they would need glue to stick them together being the lips mostly (although his chin looks suspiciously like he has serious carpet burns)!! I think the 2 hours of lying on the sofa under his blanket not talking allowed it to knit back together. He is back to himself and on top form again though this morning . Think I will load the car with him today. Yesterday I had just cleaned his teeth and left him in the bathroom as he likes to have a go too!
Ghosty yes I did indulge in a glass or 2 of wine last night. I went to a plunket papmer night at a friends house, manicure, scalp massage and 2 glasses of wine later I felt much more human. Am off to the gym this morning too, endorphins good to de-stress....
Catch you all soon.

ghosty, he keeps asking after your DD too, especially when we drive in the direction of your old house

Papillon · 25/05/2007 08:52

will sort you out with directions asap Looking forwards to seeing you both.

The scab on dd lip has come off and there is a dent

kjaysmum · 25/05/2007 23:46

Oh dear, she's very young though, perhaps you should try using some vitamin E cream to aid the tissue and Calendular of course.

kjaysmum · 29/05/2007 00:25

do you think I'll get caught in any holiday weekend traffic if I leave Kapiti early Saturday morning, was thinking of leaving about 8 am

Papillon · 30/05/2007 06:41

kjm you are far enough north of wellington to not be caught in the traffic ( i reckon ) and before you hit Levin you turn off and go up through Shannon, so will be heaps less traffic.

will email directions tonight.

almost in at the little house, nicknamed atm toyhouse as that is all the house is setup for, kids and toys! boy I bought alot of toys in CH, although had ALOT bigger space there, and its more in your face here!

sibble · 30/05/2007 20:34

hi Paps, I have my flights booked - I arrive at lunch time on the 20th and leave mid afternoon on the 22nd. A bit of a flying visit, not really long enough to do the job, but long enough to try to juggle the boys while I am away. I used to love travelling, staying in hotels etc pre children, now it just feels quiet without them.

OP posts:
kjaysmum · 31/05/2007 06:24

Ds was so excited at the airport today. We'd already explained to him that daddy was going away for a little trip to work, we had tears at the airport and the occasional "I want my daddy" but I thought he took it pretty well really, the saving grace being our holiday to you folks, he's very excited, me too.

Papillon · 31/05/2007 21:14

We "officially" move into our wee house today, have still been sleeping at the parents.

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow kjm, dd says she does not need anymore sleeps for your ds to be here

We have had cold mornings but beautiful blue skies all week so that should continue over the weekend.

Sibble, flights booked YAH! I will infuse your journey with a non quiet moment, though promise not to shave my face!

Papillon · 05/06/2007 23:02

Hope you got home safe and sound KJM. Great to see you and ds

The thing you left behind was his white plate! Was in the dishwasher. Do you want me to post it to you??

kjaysmum · 06/06/2007 20:57

Hi Paps, yes back home safe and sound, what a fantastic visit, thanks again. As for the plate, no need to post just hang onto it until the next time thanks.

kjaysmum · 10/06/2007 00:11

hmmmm, very quiet here, perhaps the cold weather has numbed our typing fingers somewhat!? brrrrrrr

Papillon · 10/06/2007 06:01

hey still not organised internet at the teeny weeny house, so not online much. Rain here today and one leak in the kids room eeekk!!

How is your dp, all settled back from his travels?

kjaysmum · 11/06/2007 09:46

oh no, not in the kids room, hope it's easily fixable!!
Dp back and happy, his trip went well, the conference was a success and the visit to friends sounded like fun, good to have him home we back to the usual noisy household, talking about triggers!!

Papillon · 12/06/2007 01:46

the rain has stopped that has fixed the leak in the meantime! Got up on the roof in the pouring rain yesterday to try and stop up the holes, think I found the holes because the clear rainwater suddenly rain black down the walls! Whoops! DIY tales and traumas!!

So its the 13th tomorrow, speaking of triggers...

sibble · 12/06/2007 03:37

HI all, it has been quiet on here lately. Have been flat out with the boys and work. Had a great weekend though, soccer Sat am, such fun watching 7 year olds - the game has clicked for the team lately (thanks to my coaching I do believe ) we are 2nd in their league and if we win this weekend will go up - hurray. Have cancelled training tonight though as putting on my glad rags and heading into town with DH, oh what to wear.... Anyway, took them to pinocchio at the theatre in teh afternoon, face painting, lots of audience participation etc...such fun. Then Sat took Ds1 and 3 of his friends to the coolest 7 year old birthday party. Private hire of 50 seater cinema in town for preview of The Fantastic Four. How cool is that - just as well DS's birthday is not til Feb, few friends for swim and bit of cake pales by comparisson. Anyway had better go and get Ds1 from school ready to start the pampering and preening.

Paps are you still OK to meet next week sometime?

kjaysmum · 13/06/2007 09:22

good to hear from you sibble, it's great to hear what you get up to with your older boys, football teams and all that, my boy is very keen at three so I can really see me standing on those sidelines in the future. Hope you had a lovely evening out.

Hmmm yes the 13th and nowt cept a big spot on my chinny, chin, chin which could be something. no more waiting though have a plan for the morning which will reveal all, watch this space.........

sibble · 13/06/2007 20:37

kjm, Ds2 is 3 in August, which for some weird reason I thought was about 6 months away until I thought about it properly this morning

Took them to see shrek after school last night, first time had taken DS2 to movies since a disaster about a year ago. He was so cute, sat with mouth open for first 20 mins chanting - 'I'm big boy', then ate his bag of goodies I'd taken from home - mandarines, popcorn etc.. got a bit bored 15 mins from end but no problem as we were the only ones in the cinema - private viewing. Will definately go to the 3.30pm showing again. It's such a good age.

OP posts:
kjaysmum · 13/06/2007 21:51

I haven't tried it with Ds yet but he's older than yours and will do anything for popcorn so it's probably something we shall try very soon. Don't remind me about August birthdays coming up soon I could definately do with skipping mine this year!!

kjaysmum · 13/06/2007 21:55

Papillon have you checked your email? feeling... at the same time!

Papillon · 14/06/2007 04:31

you have mail (((kjm)))

Sibble yes its been lurking more and more into the front of my mind that we will see one another next week! So you arrive on the 20th and leave mid afternoon on the 22nd. I would quite like an evening get together basically because they seem far more exciting But am ok for lunch, you have a tight schedule so let me know what is best for you and we can meet up for a bite to eat or a drink

Rain here again and the leaks i stopped up seem to be under control except one in the garage so glad to not have to clamber up on the roof again in the rain and have further black much run down the walls!

sibble · 14/06/2007 20:03

hi paps, stop that rain before I arrive! I could do a catch up on Thursday evening if that's any good for you. I've usually finished by 6 as the brain has shut down by then!

OP posts:
Papillon · 15/06/2007 03:36

That sounds great Sibble, Will you have a car, or shall I come pick you up?

sibble · 15/06/2007 05:44

I will have a car and be staying in Havelock North. Is that close to you? I'll have my mobile with me 021 1699 813. If you drop me a text I can call you from there and arrange a time and get some general directions. Really looking forward to it.
