Hello MrsBigD, hope the preparations for the big move are going well, if you get any time to pack in between updating this thread...

I'm in Avalon which is lovely and VERY family friendly. Abundance of beaches, cafes, playgroups etc. Only downside is rubbish public transport into city (buses only) if you need to get in daily, so lots of people rule it out as being too far away.

Glad to hear you're up for a meet up once you're a bit settled. Hopefully by May I will at least be able to give the impression I vaguely know what I am doing with a baby... . Good luck with everything.

dejags · 14/01/2008 10:37

I'll step up

Dejags

Currently in Cape Town; South Africa - Nov 2004 to date
Previously in Bromley, Kent

Moving to Brisbane/Gold Coast (somewhere in between) by no later than June 25th this year (this is our deadline for validating our Permanent Residence Visa).

When we move I will be 34; DH will be 36; DS1 will be 7; DS2 will be nearly four and DD will be around 1.

Cant wait !!!

giggly · 14/01/2008 13:22

I'm in to.Currently in Glasgow.

We have delayed the move from this spring back to spring 2009(UK spring) I get very down with the delays which are due to family matters.
We will be heading along the NSW/QLD border depending on work.

We have been to Oz on various vists and although we have no family we have some great friends in Brisbane.

Glasgow is miserable today pouring rain and freezing cold.

Can some-one send me some sea, sun, beach life from the weekend to cheer me up please.

mymama - proper aussie

BRISBANE - northside - a cooee from Eidsvold

Kids - dd 9, ds1 7, ds2 4.

DH - proper aussie

MIL is English. They migrated to Australia forty something years ago and have never become citizens .

We travelled to UK October 2007 for 3 months to check the place out and meet dh's aunts, uncles and cousins he had never met. Had a fabulous time.

scully · 07/02/2008 04:05

Count me in

Scully - proper Aussie
Brisbane - southside (bayside)
Kids - dd1 5.5, dd2 2
DH - South African

We met in the UK, lived there for 11yrs, and moved back here in Oct 2006, in time for dd1 to start school. We miss travel opportunities and good friends in the UK, but here is a great place to raise a family, and we have settled in so quickly.

MrsBigD · 23/02/2008 18:46
