I am or rather was a spring chicken... children are turning me into someone who needs coffee (dreaming) in the morning.

Never been much for sleeping in. Used to love to go to bed at 8pm before kids... but they have destroyed that!!

kjaysmum · 09/09/2006 21:47

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Paps happy birthday to you.

Have a good night

Thanks

We had a lovely day out at a beautiful lake surrounded by large mountains. Decided not to go out as I knew I would get very very drunk and hate hangovers!

After 3 years of sleeping next to the kids, on Friday I moved (much to dh amazement at my strength) our bed into their playroom and left their beds in what was our bedroom. Still getting rid of the toys, but am loving having my bed back. Love to read at night before sleep and that is something I have missed. DD arrived into our bed last night though... but she has been doing really well otherwise.

kjaysmum · 12/09/2006 01:23

glad you had a good b'day it sounds idyllic. Quite a milestone not having you small people in the room with you, must be refreshing but bet you've got used to them being there too, good luck with it.
Alls good here, was on the beach yesterday morning flying a kite with DS for the first time, great fun, felt just like summer then in the afternoon it was freezing again, this island weather is crazy, I can't keep up with it!
DH went off to Aukland at wkend to a party, first time apart for long time, he came back a little worse for the ware, ha ha he just can't take the pace any more
my turn next, but I prefer to go bush walking than partying these days!
Did you get a gym sorted out?

hi
i miss nz to been back 4 months after living in new plymouth for 18 m0nths dp is from there originally we came back to be near my family as found it hard on my own with dd 6 and ds 3.
great place to visit if your on that side of north island you could climb the mountain if you feel adventurous, love the summers but xmas not the same!?.

kjaysmum · 13/09/2006 03:35

Hi Naki, Are you back in Uk now? I can imagine you'd be missing being here more now you are going into winter and we into summer, this is my first spring here and I am very impressed, I've never seen such amazing flora!! I didn't enjoy winter much as I hear it's the worst one for years and I'd just done one in europe and it was too much having my usually mid-summer birthday in the middle of it, but hey I shall be eating strawberries on christmas day and thoroughly making the most of it!
Must be great for you and your DD and DS to be back with your family now, I miss my family so much but am lucky as My Dp's family are so lovely!

Hey thats great, Springtime - you will be dancing in the daffodils soon. Make some vases with your ds as a project then go picking!

Good to hear that dp has been partying. And as you are into bush walking if you come and visit when I am over I will take you to a very special place that is in the bush and has a beautiful swimming spot with waterfall. I know some good spots in the bush with hotpools too.

New Plymouth is lovely, with nice beaches. Tom Cruise filmed there a while back (in paddy fields) just as some useless information!

Really on a high today. DD off with friends for lunch and ds asleep. Time to myself!!!!!!! Also have been wanting to do something besides SAHM for awhile and recently did work with a friend on some kids books ideas, which have temporarily gone flat. But yesterday spent time wiht a friend who wants me to write a play with her that will be performed here in the city I live. She is Australian and works in Theater in Oz so really professional and knowledgeable. We will be very compatible working team

naki · 13/09/2006 16:47

oooh hot pools I could really do with a hotpool dip right now, sounds great.

Daffodils yep and Frieshas ahhhhh what a lovely smell

Is writing what you do then Papillon, do you have a flare for it, is it a hobby or what? A play must be quite a challenging piece to take on, lots of luck, hope it flows!
Talking of rivers hows yours? I walked up ours for the first time the other day, rather lovely.

You know Naki I am only just starting to appreciate the way of live here in NZ after 4 months of being here. It was so different when just visiting I loved it instantly, I guess shifting for good comes with a lot of ups and downs, now I'm settling in I can get on with enjoying being here. Where abouts in the uk are you?

OP posts:
naki · 14/09/2006 14:11

hi
in a place called herefordshire, didnt really appreciate NZ til i got back been back 4 months and nothing changed still the same, keep thinking only 5-6 years then we will be back can't wait

kjaysmum · 15/09/2006 07:57

Hereford and worcester, cows and sauce! know it well!!

OP posts:
Papillon · 15/09/2006 19:18

It is a childrens play adn will be working with people who are very experienced.

Yes I hope it flows too, would hate it to be a stress. It does not have a deadline yet.

Had a nice playgroup with dd this arvo. A new one, which eventually I will leave her at. ds enjoyed it too!

kjaysmum · 16/09/2006 06:18

A childrens play sounds great, what a nice thing to be involved in.
It's quite a biggy finding a way to leave them for the first time don't you think, at least I think it will be with my DS as he's so very used to being with me, not having had GP's on the scene. I am going to try one morning a week at a local kindie soon I think, but as you are doing I shall go along with him for a while. He's been very clingy just lately, may be a reaction to his last homeopathy remedy, you know, getting worse before getting better, sketch.

OP posts:
Papillon · 16/09/2006 09:22

dd did quite well at the playgroup, especially after having something to eat there. I even was able to go off to look at the red cross for half an hour!

She has meet someone else with the same lady from playgroup so she seemed to quite enjoy saying her name.

I have a head cold and feel abit shite.. sometimes colds hover inside me for weeks and keep trying to come out... all this breast feeding makes me run down sometimes.

I noticed with dd that remedies soemtimes made her clingy.

kjaysmum · 20/09/2006 09:41

how's the cold Papillon, hope you're feeling better. Sounds like your dd is pretty confident I hope my little fella will get more independent as he gets older, we're working on it.
I am struggling a bit with ds at present, he's still coming out of his naps really badly, talked to a plunket nurse today she thinks I should ignore, ignore, ignore makes sense really so I'm going to start giving him his buscuit and drink and walking away, see if it's all a game of control. He had about five tantrums on monday too, it's exhuasting, am trying so hard to be a sea of tranquility but am having a few health issues at present, possible he's picking up on my underlying stress, or is he just being a two year old with a huge character!?!
I had a session with a homeopathist today and she dragged load of old stuff out of me, I'm tired now, emotion is tiring!!
night night

OP posts:
Papillon · 22/09/2006 10:06

I am better thanks - they weather here this week is supberb So have been out and about loads. Emotion is tiring isn´t it. I am feeling alot of that atm as dh working tooooo much and what with several of my mates bogging off to live in Australia am not feeling into living here much atm tbh!

Having a terrible time booking my flight to NZ because of the dog leg trip to visit bro in SF. Have been looking online cos the travel agents here are lazy and email info to my current agent! Saw that AirPacific flies to the States.. maybe I should stop in Fiji for afew days!!!

kjaysmum · 22/09/2006 10:10

I was going to ask you about your flight, but you gotta go see your bro and family and your new niece

OP posts:
Papillon · 22/09/2006 10:13

100%

don´t want to fly into major cities in USA - seen one via Paris direct into SF and hopefully the hippies at customs will be kind to me

How you doing?

kjaysmum · 22/09/2006 10:14

things getting better here again, ds had a near to perfect day today, he was a little angel at playgroup playing like a star, sharing, waiting, not at all clingy ahhh I waas so proud.

OP posts:
kjaysmum · 22/09/2006 10:24

we are definately starting to settle in now. Play groups much more relaxed nice bunch of mums I've met.
Was chatting to a friend who is also Eko friendly other day about how living in this neck of the wood is hard sometimes to share ideas we should try to create somesort of network of like minded people in the area, sort of like a spread out eko village thingy, just trying to think how you'd do it, any idears

OP posts:
kjaysmum · 24/09/2006 21:50

Hi Paps, everything ok, you gone a bit quiet, busy I guess.
Well things have gotten quite interesting round here, we invited some friends over for dinner and had a huge chat about trying to find a small group of people to buy land together and fulfill the dream of building an eko village. It is only a dream at the moment but Ds ordered some books from work and we're starting to read them now, from little beginnings can come great things!!
I was looking at the member profiles last night and tried to see the photo of your ds and dd but all I could see was a native american in a tipee, nice picture but bit dissapionting (smile)
Hope you're getting somewhere with booking your flight..

OP posts:
Papillon · 25/09/2006 08:48

I will put the pics back up for you

Eko village can I come and live there too????? If you got that up and running I would so move back to NZ!

Alittle busy over weekend and just having some time out from MN. I had a wicked headache for 3 days and am just coming out the other side YUCK!

Its a Monday Day today and so Raining. Luckily have Bridget Jones 2 to read and lots of fruit and vege to consume

kjaysmum · 25/09/2006 10:51

hello, Dp is awaiting the piccies too now Can understand you needing a break from the computer, 3 day headache ouch too much!
I'm going to mention this here rather than on the 10/10 thread just so you understand why I was looking for a diet thread on MN. I have a bad stomach problem going on, have a hospital appointment imminent. Have had an urge to do a cleansing diet for a while now so nice to have some support in it, not really up for going 'public' on the health problem but have been tempted to mention it to you a few times. Yoga helps lots, hemeopathic remedy not really...yet. it's a pain paps cause everything else going so well but am in lots of discomfort...anyhow won't harp on about it too much, just felt like telling you.
Off to read 'the heart of yoga' wow what's happening to me

OP posts:
Papillon · 26/09/2006 10:32

(((KJM))) just read your post. Sorry to hear you are having alot of pain. Lots of fruit atm might not be a good idea. Are you allergic to foods? The good thing is that you are finding ways to help yourself rather than just seeking hospital help.

I have put a photo of ds up for you to see, but it might be easier if I emailed them to you??

DH is home more this week which is great, he has a course just around the corner so is home for lunch and at 4pm. He did work last night though grrrrrr. I am getting serious SAHM syndrome which is not good!
