Is it going to be OK to talk about being a Poly here? (FFMM quad with children).

I got sucked into a thread elsewhere in Mumsnet but it didn't seem to be going anywhere, in fact it got quite nasty.

It isn't clear to a newbie like me where more unusual lifestyles get discussed

refreshing to hear a Poly being called a Poly ;)

expatinscotland · 30/08/2009 22:21

You people always suck me back in for a laugh!

I'm Slim Shady, yes, I'm the real shady.

So Extended nicked your personal family history (2 sisters, at college together, boyfriends, inherited family farm following early deaths of parents, all agreed to live as MMFF poly group, now have 3 dds)?

Or - alternatively - you're Extended back for another go, embarrassingly oblivious to having been rumbled by his/her entire readership roughly 3 posts in...

expatinscotland · 30/08/2009 22:33

Well, he says it, shineon, they all wanna fuck like him .

Yurtgirl123 · 30/08/2009 22:35

moving into the Dower house down the track

expatinscotland · 30/08/2009 22:54

Exactly, Yurt. Shouldn't that be the Dowager house?

Oh, semantics be damned!

Where's the Dowager, anyhow? Is she dead like Extended's story, conveniently out of the way?

This is starting to sound like those books about that gal who steps through the stone circle and she's bang smack in the middle of an era of aristocratic men who think like enlightened 21st century metrosexuals.

Having just bothered nosily trooped off to read other posts by Extended and Imapolytoo it just gets even more bizarre

Polygamous families are something that exists obviously but I am inlined to think this person is ONE person thoroughly enjoying a wind up

IdrisTheDragon · 30/08/2009 23:10

We had a quad in the middle of my school as well. There were peacocks in it.

KembleTwins · 30/08/2009 23:12

We had what we called a quad. No peacocks though. Not posh enough. I think the senior girls loo was there.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2009 23:12

'I am inlined to think this person is ONE person thoroughly enjoying a wind up'

Yeah, so are we .

Yurtgirl123 · 30/08/2009 23:22

Weird that some people are so bored they can be bothered

Iamapolytoo · 31/08/2009 07:07

I refer the Honourable Member to the question I asked earlier. ?Is it going to be OK to talk about being a Poly here??

Clearly the answer is no, which is fine and unsurprising given that most of the readers of Mumsnet are both much younger than me and more inclined to be needing advice rather than giving advice. Nothing wrong with needing advice BTW.

I am sort of surprised that my social background seems to matter to some of you.

Oh yes just a thought before breakfast. If you get your identity borrowed then what get published about you and any truth you later feel bound to publish yourself ?to set the record straight? are bound to be similar. If they hadn?t been I would never have known about the problem and would have had no need to post anything. So what I and Extended wrote were bound to be similar. Look girls it really is not a difficult concept!

I am wondering why bring it up? I know some 'poly's - muslim marriages with 2 or more wives, one husband. It doesn't enter the conversation about kids, housework, etc etc

expatinscotland · 31/08/2009 07:59

yes, poly, let's all accept that some random person impersonated your life on a huge internet forum with tens of thousands of members and you just happened to find out about it and create an ID to come and set the record straight.

right.

GoldenSnitch · 31/08/2009 08:17

?Is it going to be OK to talk about being a Poly here??

Well it would be, but you don't want to talk about being a Poly, you ignore all questions asked about being a Poly. You want tips on empty nests and housework - so why mention being a Poly at all?

dawntigga · 31/08/2009 08:25

Iamapolytoo you can't be a poly (am assuming you are polyamory and not polyamarous) post on a non-lifestyle site and not expect questions! Or you're REALLY naive.

If you are looking for people who are in polyamory relationships to talk about the issues faced there are quite a few help sites.

The friends I have who are poly say there is much more negotiation due to more ego's.

BitOfFun · 31/08/2009 12:19

How come you talk the same then? If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Anyway, I'm off to the dower house shed.

drlove8 · 31/08/2009 12:25

can i ask a serious question? please ladies, no piss -taking.... how do you cope with all the mother-in-laws???

expatinscotland · 31/08/2009 12:37

they're all conveniently dead, drlove, IIRC.

fiver · 31/08/2009 12:47

Well after reading this thread yesterday, last night I dreamt I had quadrulets.

In my dream I had shagged 2 different blokes on the same day, and their sperm had a fight to get to the 4 eggs. The sperm fight was really graphic in my dream. As a result 2 of the quads belonged to one bloke and 2 belonged to the other.

So I thank you mumsnet for corrupting my subconscience and giving me freaky dreams.

drlove8 · 31/08/2009 12:56

Can i just point out "extended" is most defo a troll.... extended did a thread about berevement ,feeling like a man when his fil died being crushed by a bull.... and then another which contains the line " when we suggested making babies to our menfolk " .
extended imagination imo pmsl x

drlove8 · 31/08/2009 12:59
