Is 37 too late to have a 3rd child

With a DH that is 42?

Previous two in early 30s but feel I'm pushing my luck.

The combo of me above 35 and DH above 40 seems to scare me but my heart tells me to go for it while my head tells my heart to be quiet!

I had a third at 38. It wasn't too old when they were young but I'm 60 and absolutely longing for my freedom now. These days it's not at all unusual for them to live back at home well into their 20s. That's something that didn't cross my mind when DC3 was planned for.

Plenty of people haven't even had their first by 37. You'll be fine.

Why particularly do you want a third? What would be the age gap? Between the existing 2 and a potential 3rd?

You sure you want to do this? Sooo glad we stopped at two now we are looking down the barrel of university costs and wanting freedom from parenting teenagers to do our own thing / reduce working hours / live abroad temporarily etc all on hold for dd2 which is fine but a third I would struggle.

I had my first at 35, twins at 37 and twins at 39. Go for it!

I wouldn’t have…..it’s too old for me …..I had my 3rd at 32 and it felt too old….but someone will come along and tell you they had their first at 48🤷‍♀️….so it’s your choice

I had my first GC at not much older than that…..they all keep me young…,but I can hand them back and enjoy my life ….,like I said OP ….horses for courses

A good friend just had her second aged 47, so I don’t think 37 is too old at all!

I don't know? My heart just says go for it. Why did I have my first and second, I'm not sure either the time felt right to grow my family.

Im going through a mc at the moment of what would have been dc3 - I’m 37 and will try again. I guess mcs are more likely at this age but I still wasn’t expecting it! My others are 3 and 6.

I had quite a big gap before I had my third at 37 but she completed our family and now at 13 we have a really close relationship because the other two have flown the nest and settled down.
I'm quite young in outlook, don't feel my age, and wouldn't have my family any other way!

I’m also 37 and definitely don’t feel like I’d be too old to have another. The thing that stopped me having a third was realising I was getting a bit of freedom as DC we’re getting more independent (15&11). I say freedom what I mean by that is I can sit down on an evening and watch tv with no or little interruption 🙈😂
