In other news, we have four odd shoes in our garden and no idea where they came from so can't return them. I really wish foxes would be a bit better at clearing up after themselves

I used to leave dp's stinky running shoes outside but even the foxes wouldn't take them.

That's definitely more sensible than getting involved! All sorts of accusations flying around and I'm finding it all very tedious and draining. I might just go back to avoiding this site for another few weeks 😬

Beit Hashita pickles. NOT the ones in vinegar! Kvutzat Yavneh are an acceptable alternative if needed.

Since he retired my husband makes his own pickles and now supplies pickled cucumbers to the neighbours. He is currently pickling jalapeño peppers!

To be fair, my sister bought some Mrs Elswood burger gherkins in a fit of madness and they were horrible. No-one could eat them.

See, the burger ones are the only ones I've ever even been tempted to buy! We have "sandwich pickles" where I'm from and they're amazing 🤤

I'm not even Jewish and I quite like the Mrs Elswood ones.
Or perhaps that's why I like them, never having had the homemade real thing.

@BooBooButts are sandwich pickles crinkle cut? I bought a crinkle cut knife specifically to cut my FAVOURITE AND BEST MRS ELSWOOD HAIMISHA PICKLES but it's rubbish and they don't turn out very crinkly at all. Sad.
