I'm glad you're both ok. But really, there was no need for you to worry because according to CITME, Israel's enemies only ever target the military so you'd have been fine. Unless there's something you want to tell us...

phew!

@BooBooButts must have been a figment of my imagination then!

Very relieved you are all OK xx

Yes, it's weird how real these things can feel sometimes! But it obviously wasn't.

I genuinely laughed out loud at the bit about "BBC news does not and cannot reflect any single world view" 😂

stonecutter · 01/10/2024 20:58

I don't know why, of all the posts, but Israel apparently being the obvious ones to blame because they have "issues" with all their neighbours is the one that's really got me.

Issues with the neighbours.

Like we are talking about Linda at number 36 who plays music too loud and never collects her packages.

Confused

They're too simplistic. They don't understand that things are more complicated than what it seems. Yes, Israel has problems with their neighbours, but why is that? When did it start?

Anyway, the bad neighbours collected all 180 parcels tonight so maybe the neighbours can chill the fuck out for a bit now? 🤞🏻

Would be nice if they did chill. Just got my 5 year old off to sleep, she was obviously very unsettled. The big kids are still bouncing around.

I’m wiped now the adrenaline (and chocolate) has worn off. Supposed to be cooking for yom tov, but am so tired. We have challah and soup, we can eat that for three days right?!

Yes, assuming you don't follow my cooking method in which case only one of you could have soup and only for one meal 😊

I'm ill and have been eating challah and soup for the last three days, 10/10 would recommend.

Thinking of everyone and their loved ones in Israel, stay safe.

This got me too. The oversimplification of everything. The hysteria. The belief of everything told to them by hamas and the bbc. The poor understanding of politics, warfare, technology, geography, religion. Well, everything really.

It's about time Israel defended itself, rather than being under constant attack for a year. Its response is proportional and targeted, no matter what those armchair hissyfitters think.

I recently found myself explaining to one of my (non-Jewish) DC that, no, Israel did NOT bomb the Al-Ahli Hospital. Thank you, BBC. for jumping on the Hamas band-wagon with that one.

Wishing all of you all the best for Yom Tov.

BooBooButts · 02/10/2024 10:24

Does anyone else wish there was a 'hide user' option on MN so you didn't have to be quite so exposed to certain posters incredibly odd comments? I don't want an echo chamber, I just don't enjoy seeing posts in support of terrorists 😅

Yes. Can you imagine what they say IRL when they're not restricted by MN talk guidelines.

SpuytenDuyvil · 02/10/2024 21:39

Agreed. I think about that on Zoom, too. Some people should just be shut up.

0palfruitsalad74 · 04/10/2024 09:27

Just popping in to say hello. I did sort of flounce from MN - honestly the CITME board is just too much for me, as well as MN's useless moderation of it. The final straw was a passive aggressive email from MNHQ quoting their talk guidelines at me after I reported a post. Unbelievable.

Anyway, I now have covid and have been temporarily lured back out of sheer boredom as I don't have the strength to do much more than surf the web! Disappointing lack of neighbour parking threads ;)

I hope you're all doing OK and that those of you who are or have family in Israel are all safe.

I hope you feel better soon - COVID seems quite rough this time around!

I love me a parking thread and agree that they have definitely been lacking of late! Maybe I should start one about my neighbour who always reserves 'his' spot with traffic cones? Or my other neighbour without a driveway but with something like 8 vehicles in the family?

0palfruitsalad74 · 04/10/2024 09:50

Ooh yes. Remember, bonus points for a labelled diagram 😉 I live on the same road as a primary school and have never had anyone so much as partially block my driveway, so very dull round here 😂
