Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone else is having a frozen embryo transfer this month and wants to share the experience together.

I started oestrogen tablets and patches last week, and will have my first lining scan this Tuesday. All being well, transfer will hopefully be the middle or end of the following week.

Despite an extremely high collection and fertilisation rate, we’ve only ended up with one euploid embryo so feeling very nervous about our chances. I’m 40 years old and been having fertility treatment (IUI, IVF, ICSI) for three years now. No children.

Please do join in if you are also having a frozen embryo transfer this month as it would be good to chat.

@YourTipsyDog period type pains and early pregnancy cramps can be the same though so don't count yourself out. The progesterone always holds mine off until I stop the medication so I just have to wait and see. I always wonder what actual implantation cramping should feel like as there are so many different descriptions!

MyAgileZebra · 16/01/2026 17:38

@YourTipsyDog would your period usually come this early? Hopefully it is just implanting, totally get how you're feeling though.

@SprinklesOfHope I can imagine, it sounds traumatic. I always over fill my bladder and just want to get out asap so I can go for a wee.

I always have the best intentions to stick to OTD but know that I never will last that long. I usually try and hold off until 7dpt.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

YourTipsyDog · 16/01/2026 20:25

@May100 @MyAgileZebra I’d love to believe it but this is exactly what happened last time. The progesterone doesn’t always hold my period off either, and today is the 28th day of my cycle so is the day my period should start. I’ll do a test in the morning just to clarify. Meh

YourTipsyDog · 17/01/2026 07:30

A negative test. Meh. Wishing for better luck for the rest of you x

camelinastorm · 17/01/2026 10:52

@SprinklesOfHope hi sorry for the delay, oh gosh that must have been hard, the added stress and trying not to be in them

mine went ok, there was blood as they were doing it, they said it’s ok and this is normal
my clinic you have to lay down for and hour after like can’t move, after this I went and grabbed lunch as it was a long morning at the clinic due to having lipoids prior to transfer, yesterday I went for a steady walk for about an hour to encourage blood flow ate eggs and cheese with pomegranate juice to wash it down

I am just so sore already from the blood thinners and the progesterone injections

my clinics test day is 9/10 dpt

how are you feeling today any twinges ?

camelinastorm · 17/01/2026 10:54

@YourTipsyDog gow much progesterone are you on my clinic says you cannnot bleed on the progesterone so hopefully the feelings are a good sign

SprinklesOfHope · 17/01/2026 10:57

@YourTipsyDogsorry for the news this morning it’s just so shit and this journey is so hard. Do whatever you need for yourself today and it’s okay to feel all the feels anger hurt upset etc. sending you lots of hugs

@camelinastormoh sorry to hear about the blood but yes it is probably normal there’s a lot going on down there. They make you lay down ? Mine just shoo me out the door almost get dressed and we leave immediately. Maybe it’s the nhs side of things but they didn’t even walk us out ha. so I didn’t rest at all oops hope that hasn’t affected things. No twinges yet feel totally normal apart from pain at the site of all the Injections. How you feeling about it all? I’m just trying to stay distracted but it’s not really working

May100 · 17/01/2026 12:31

@YourTipsyDog Mine was a negative this morning too unfortunately. Same old same old. Wishing you all the best in whatever you decide next.

YourTipsyDog · 17/01/2026 14:01

You too @May100 @camelinastorm I think it’s unusual but it has happened to me previously. I’m on 2 Cyclogest a day and my progesterone was quite high when tested so maybe it’s higher this time which is what is just about holding it off.

camelinastorm · 18/01/2026 14:18

@SprinklesOfHope im overseas for treatment and their practice is lay down for at least an hour they literally slide you off the transfer bed to a bed and wheel you back to the room 🤣 I have been very active after though no twinges just the same as you sore injection sites and the after soreness from the progesterone injection
@YourTipsyDog so sorry it’s so crap this club we all find ourselves in

MyAgileZebra · 19/01/2026 17:34

Has anyone had prontogest injections? I have been put on them for the first time and have been told they are really painful, does anyone know if they are really that bad? x

Sineadttc · 19/01/2026 18:14

Hey everyone,

Don’t mind if I join in? I had my FET with 2 embryos on Friday past. So currently 3DP5DT and resisting the urge not to test.
Promised Hubbie we would wait to Sunday which would be 9 days post.
On progesterone and just have the continuous cramping. No other symptoms really.
anyone else resisting the urge to test?

ItsAJourney · 19/01/2026 21:22

Hey @MyAgileZebra, I’m still receiving notifications for this thread so thought I’d hop on to reply as I was doing the prontogest injections for the first time for this cycle. I actually found them okay.

We made sure to watch the advice video for how and where to do it (my clinic sent me this one: ). The needle to administer is the long green one that you usually only use for drawing up so it was a bit daunting the first time but it was actually okay. A small flinch when it goes in but probably more so from the surprise rather than pain. The only pain I really felt was after the first couple of days, I started to experience a bruised feeling to the area which was uncomfortable when sitting. But that’s it! Most annoying thing was having to get up early on the weekend to do it at the same time as weekdays which had to be done early enough before either of us went to work so that my husband could administer it for me.

I’m so glad I’ve found this thread!
I had my Fet on Wednesday 14th! Test is due 28th buuuuuut we shall see how long I can hold out!
this is my third transfer - last two I miscarried unfortunately so fingers crossed this one makes it 🤍
on my last two pregnancies I had what felt like a burning ball or a presence in my uterus that stayed my whole pregnancy - I feel like I have it again so I’m really hoping this one has stuck too. Does anyone else get this feeling?

MyAgileZebra · 20/01/2026 10:52

@ItsAJourney thank you, this is reassuring. I'll check out the video. My partner works shifts so it's going to be difficult to get it the same time every day.

Good luck @Queenie901, I have my transfer today 😬.

Hey. I am 7dp5dt of my FET, will be testing on Sunday and feel like this week is really dragging! Tempted to test but will stick to the given date. Been experiencing some cramping since yesterday, hoping all is ok 🤞🏼

Hi @MyAgileZebra I’m currently on Prontogest injections for my FET. I can only speak from my own experience, but I did find the first one quite uncomfortable and had some muscle soreness afterwards, which made sitting and walking a bit difficult for a day or so. It was more the after-effects than the injection itself that I noticed.

Things that have helped me are warming the vial beforehand, icing the area briefly before the injection, injecting slowly, rotating sides, and then using heat afterwards. It’s also been a bit hit and miss for me, some have been much easier than others, and it’s already improving as my body gets used to it.

Not the nicest, but manageable, and hopefully yours will be okay 🤞 x

MyAgileZebra · 20/01/2026 20:05

@Nikc89 thank you for the advice, I had my first one tonight and wasn't too bad.

Good effort on holding out on the testing. I'm not going to pretend that I'll last until OTD but aiming for 8dp5dt. Good luck.

Ahh we will be testing on the same day. Fingers crossed for both of us.
I have noticed one other symptom where I’m extremely thirsty. I am assuming it’s the progesterone but I’ve never had this in my previous transfers.
This 2WW is actually torture.

Ahh yes, fingers crossed for us both 🤞
I’ve been really thirsty too and I’m also assuming it’s the progesterone, I’ve read it can definitely cause dry mouth and thirst, especially with higher doses/injections. Every cycle seems to bring a new symptom, which doesn’t help the overthinking!

Completely agree, this 2WW is absolute torture. Hoping the days go quickly for us both 💛

Sineadttc · 21/01/2026 09:15

@Nikc89 - I caved and tested. Today is 5DP5DT with two embryos.
My Oura ring was showing my BBT is very high and I wasn’t sure if it was the progesterone.
I think I can see a vvvvfl …protecting my heart though

I can definitely see a line there 🤍 it’s so early at 5dp5dt, especially with two embryos, so seeing anything at all is really encouraging. Completely understand protecting your heart, but that does look promising. Fingers crossed that this is the start of something lovely and that the line keeps getting darker over the next few days. This wait really is torture, thinking of you 💛🤞

camelinastorm · 21/01/2026 11:13

@Sineadttc i also caved in 6dp5dt I bought a bulk of cheapies and just had to today at I think I also have a faint line
@MyAgileZebra my progesterone injections are just under the skin with a brown needle 26G so for subcutaneous method they don’t have to be to the muscle

This is the first sight of a potential positive for me. So really trying to guard my heart.

camelinastorm · 21/01/2026 11:53

@Sineadttc i have no real symptoms I don’t think, this is why I tested early and bought like 10 tests 🤣🤣 they are 10mlU so not super sensitive, I do have headaches and quite thirsty but nothing else have you got any symptoms now wishing I’d not tested as it never makes me feel relaxed 🤣🤣
