December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

Hi @Peonies94 , congrats again, very happy for you!
I understand this is all very exciting and you’re an every day tester, but is there any chance you could maybe skip posting the result on this group every morning? I know you’ve created a group for early testers and I know you’re a part of the November group where there’s a few testers who share their results as well, but since nobody out of the December FETs is anywhere near their testing day I find waking up to these post every morning quite triggering and anxiety inducing.

again I wish you all the best, and I hope you can appreciate some of us who are trying not to stress about this getting triggered by your posts. So glad you got your positive and I really hope it sticks, just no need to post it on this group every day you have a test. I hope you understand where I’m coming from. Congrats again!

CoolSummer89 · 05/12/2025 08:58

Congratulations @Peonies94 it must feel really real seeing it written out like this!

As everyone reacts differently to tests, I think @zirafica’s request here is fair. Especially if you have another thread dedicated to testing.

Maybe we should encourage users of the board to only post one test (OTD or otherwise) and then everyone is welcome to stick around either to receive emotional support or support others.

Just doing my roll call for others on the thread

  • How are you feeling today after transfer @BellaTink647 & @whysohardtogetusername ?
  • How are you doing @Blueskycat & @Poppy9991 ? Are you still going to have an early December transfer?

Then I think next transfer we have are @AnonTTC and @Klmno and then ages until my transfer - if it happens at all!

Thanks for the support @CoolSummer89 ! I completely understand @Peonies94 excitement, but her transfer was 29th Nov so she’s way ahead of everyone in the group (I think I’m the first December one as mine was on the 2nd, and as we all know 3 days is a long time in this process).
I also understand people test early which is fine, and happy to be a part of people sharing their early results, but once it’s gone one way I don’t think there’s any need to post the same result every day.

I fully support your suggestion of sharing your results once, and then of course feel free to do so again if anything changes (from negative to positive I would hope ♥️).

Thank you again for understanding!

CoolSummer89 · 05/12/2025 10:03

Absolutely @zirafica . I don't think we need to keep discussing it. As we have already established everyone deals with this process differently. There is not one right way to deal with IVF and infertility.

We just need to mindful of everyone's preferences. And that includes allowing others to be excited about positive results in moderation.

Thanks for checking in @CoolSummer89 , I’m in clinic right now waiting for transfer! Feeling nervous but glad to be at this stage.

We actually moved house at the weekend so that’s been hectic but a great distraction. Haven’t been online much but I’m sure you’ll hear lots from me in the two week wait…

How are you doing? Do you know when your transfer will be?

CoolSummer89 · 05/12/2025 10:32

Ah that is so exciting @Blueskycat and yes moving house is one hell of a distraction :) Let us know how it goes!

My cycle is completely natural, no trigger, so I just need to wait for ovulation. If I have a regular cycle (for me), transfer should be 16th or 17th. But equally my egg retrieval was less than two months ago, so could be later.

How exciting @Blueskycat !! Good luck, I hope it goes well ❤️

And yes, @CoolSummer89 - mine is the 10th so not tooo long but I think there are a few ahead of me still. Keeping everything crossed you can have yours in line with your ovulation this month!! x

Blueskycat · 05/12/2025 13:33

Thank you @CoolSummer89 and @AnonTTC, all seemed to go ok so now it’s just the waiting game! Does anyone else find the full bladder requirement stressful though? Constantly second guessing how much I need to go and how much water I’ve drunk all morning 😅

@CoolSummer89 ahh I really hope ovulation comes as expected for you!

Hopefully not long to wait now@AnonTTC, next week will come round quickly.

zirafica · 05/12/2025 14:47

@Blueskycat I was worried about this as well but it was absolutely fine in the end! They want it full but not too full, I reckon if you go to the loo and hour before and then drink a pint you should be ok - it obviously depends on your bladder but that's the advice i've seen online. hopefully you're all done now!

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 15:29

@Blueskycat find that so stressful! The first time they told me my bladder was way too full and the procedure took just under an hour as they struggled, the second time was full but not very full then because of my reaction they thought it wasn’t full enough, but turns out it was fine 😂😂 so stressful though! Thought it would have been delayed and I’d have needed to have drank more!

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 15:38

i agree I didn’t do the whole 4 hour hold even the first time but the second time 500ml after a wee an hour before was perfect amount for me!

zirafica · 05/12/2025 16:03

Yeah I agree with @Peonies94 they definitely want it more like half full rather than full full. And I'm sorry, that first experience sounds awful! An hour of trying!! They should've just let you go wee a bit out!

so glad it all went well. Hope you’ve enjoyed a nice relaxing afternoon :)

ah I know, not long to wait at all! Weirdly I find this wait way easier than the wait between starting patches & my lining scan. Maybe it’s because things feel more certain now? Although my embryo actually has to be moved from one hospital to another (long story) so there’s a lot that could go wrong still if something totally unexpected like a car crash were to happen 😩 stupid to worry about that though.

I start pessaries tonight.. any tips!? I’ve been told putting them up the back way is better but I’m so scared!! Hilarious how injecting myself twice a day didn’t phase me but this is 😂

zirafica · 05/12/2025 16:49

@AnonTTC exciting, one step closer with the pessaries! I’ve had absolutely no problem putting them in the front, it’s no bother at all. What I would recommend is using thin daily pads while you’re on them though! Also I’ve not seen people mention this much but progesterone causes constipation so be ready for that. I’ve been drinking psyllium husk which is helping, but during the TWW my thoughts now are “is this an implantation cramp or a bowel movement”? 😂😂 oh the joys of IVF!

The full bladder requirement is the worst! I totally overdid it and I was uncomfortable 😂

whysohardtogetusername · 05/12/2025 17:03

@AnonTTC I don't have any tips but I found the pessaries less bad than expected, honestly - definitely stock up on pantyliners like @zirafica said and don't wear your favourite pants!!

Thanks for checking in @CoolSummer89. @BellaTink647 how was yours? Everything went well with transfer, it was weird of course but in and out quite quickly. I've found this part of the process so much better than egg retrieval. I think @zirafica said she's doing natural modified and I'm on the same, it's quite low key. My clinic have said if I do get a positive on day 11 I can ditch the pessaries after first scan, which is also a relief - I hate taking hormones and extra medication.

I've given myself a work goal to hit in the next week to distract myself and I'm hoping it'll go quickly.

zirafica · 05/12/2025 17:18

@whysohardtogetusername I'm so glad it went so well! Honestly I don’t think I was in with the doctors for mine for more than 7 minutes 😂 and correct, I’m in a natural modified too but they told me to keep up with the pessaries until week 12 if it works, which I’m not too excited about.

I suppose I will be able to stop them if it fails so maybe that’s one more silver lining (prepping these to keep myself cheery)!

I’ve got to say the closer we are to the testing date (next Saturday so not soon at all) the more I want it to be positive, which is a shame cause I was so proud of myself for being chilled about it 😭😭

whysohardtogetusername · 05/12/2025 19:04

@zirafica that's interesting about the pessaries - I wonder why they say until 12 weeks for yours. I guess different clinics have different approaches.

I know I'm going to spiral with anxiety the closer I get to testing date, completely understand where you're coming from😂😂. I'm only fine now because it's Day 2!! My thing that I'm telling myself is that I can go straight back to the sauna if it's negative, which I've found great at managing anxiety in general, ofc can't use it now. It's such a weird thing to keep both possibilities in my mind, can't really get my head around it.

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 19:04

im on my prontogest injections up until 12-13 weeks! Anyone else on prontogest? @zirafica That’s what I told myself last cycle, that the one good thing was no more injections, I’m already so sore! Seem to bleed more each day! Though obviously we go into this wanting it to go one way only, it’s always good to look for the little things!

whysohardtogetusername · 05/12/2025 19:07

@Peonies94 more injections don't sound fun! The things we do!

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 19:13

@whysohardtogetusername i know right, they’re in the bum too so awkward and means my partner has to do it, which is a bit of a pain sometimes with work etc.
