December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

@whysohardtogetusername I thought the same! Might be my age? I’m 39. I really don’t know. But it’s so different for everyone which makes it so hard to compare! Oh you’re on day 2! I’m on day 3! We’re super close. I was fine yesterday but today I woke up feeling like the OTD is so far away, and I’d love to know sooner, but I also think if it’s negative I’d rather not know? Silly really.
@Peonies94 injections?? NO. Oh I’m so glad I’m on pessaries. That must be so tough! But it’s working so I suppose it’s a small price to pay. Icing the spot really helped me with the stims, I don’t know if you’re already doing that but I swear that was the only thing that made it bearable. I was so stressed about the injections I knew which needle
was thinnest and which thickest 😂 I’m glad that’s over!
completely agree with you both on finding things to look forward to if it fails. My list currently is 1) wine / prosecco / baileys 2) coffee 3) Pilates but that’s about it 😂

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 19:29

@zirafica so mine is progesterone in oil so it needs to be warm and quick bum massage and 20 mins walking afterwards! Just to stop the oil from ‘setting’ but I d been using the little heat pads you snap and then re oil and they’ve helped a little
yes baileys, wine no injections were mine 😂

zirafica · 05/12/2025 20:07

@Peonies94 oh my friend in the states is on progesterone in oil injections and she says they burn a bit, she’s not a fan! Ok bum massage sounds good, less sure about the 20 min walk, it’s cold outside 😂 well done keeping up with it all, hopefully your bean is enjoying it too ♥️♥️

Peonies94 · 05/12/2025 20:10

Yeah they’re not very nice and can be a little messy! I’ve found myself doing the hoovering and bits like that most nights running washing around, tidying up etc as tend to do them after dinner! Sometimes I’ll go outside and walk but mostly just try and potter around instead! He said so long as it’s just not setting in they’re fine!

zirafica · 05/12/2025 20:21

@Peonies94 oh good idea!! Well done figuring it all out!

BellaTink647 · 05/12/2025 23:38

@CoolSummer89 feeling fine 1 day post transfer, thank you. Busy at work so haven't thought about it too much, but then when I do remember I'm like "wow, that was only yesterday. Still nearly 2 whole weeks to pass"!

@Blueskycat ah I hated having to have a full bladder! I wee a lot in general and as soon as someone tells me I can't go, that is all I want to do. We left home 90mins before our appointment so I spent the whole car journey feeling like I really needed to go! I actually went for half a wee (first time for everything!) when I got to the clinic cos I was so worried about being too full and I was so desperate 🤣 and I'm so glad it didn't take too long because I'm not sure how I would have lasted 😆😆

CoolSummer89 · 07/12/2025 16:57

Hi @Sequins04 , hope the call from the embryology team yesterday was OK. Here if you need us xx

Sequins04 · 07/12/2025 17:45

Thank you so much for checking in @CoolSummer89. We have had the most wonderful news, and I still don't think it's properly sunk in. Out of the 4 eggs that fertilised, all 4 have made it to blastocysts! Two were biopsied for PGTA yesterday on day 5 and we had a call this afternoon (on a Sunday - super impressed!) to say the other two made it to biopsy today (day 6). We should get the results in early January, so fingers crossed for euploids so we can have a FET some time in the new year!😁

How are you getting along @CoolSummer89 any sign of ovulation yet to trigger your natural FET?

@BellaTink647 @Peonies94 @zirafica @Blueskycat @whysohardtogetusername I hope you're all doing ok post transfer?

zirafica · 07/12/2025 17:52

Yay @Sequins04 thats great news! All of my fertilised cells went to blastos as well, it’s a great start. Fingers crossed for your PGT-A to come back with loads of embryos!
I’m doing ok, thank you for asking! Today is day 5 post transfer and I’ve had some pretty unpleasant cramping yesterday and today. I also feel a very strong urge to bite my nails, a habit I broke after high school but comes back every month a week before my period so I’m kind of thinking I might be out as this is all feeling like PMS to me. We’re not testing until the OTD and I’m on progesterone pessaries so won’t get my period until I stop them, which I’m told to do if my test is negative. I just don’t feel pregnant… I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel

AnonTTC · 07/12/2025 17:52

Awww this is amazing news @Sequins04 !!! So pleased for you 🥰 hope you’re feeling relieved with that news and super positive for the new year xx

Sequins04 · 07/12/2025 18:02

Thanks so much ladies we are over the moon!

I'm so sorry you're suffering @zirafica. I've read that the progesterone can give symptoms very similar to PMS, so let's hope it's that and the cramping is implantation. Thinking of you!

@AnonTTC It's your turn for transfer week this week isn't it? Hope you're managing OK if you're on any prep drugs.

CoolSummer89 · 07/12/2025 18:14

Oh that is an amazing result @Sequins04 - well done you! Yes hopefully you can put your feet up and relax until the new year.

@Sequins04 thats great news, so pleased for you!
@zirafica its so hard, I found I fleet between feelings of is this a symptom which means this has worked or is this cramping a sign my period is on the way? Truth be told I think all my symptoms are the progesterone, but it makes it so hard!

Peonies94 · 07/12/2025 19:31

@zirafica 🤞🤞 for you though! When is your testing day again?

zirafica · 07/12/2025 19:57

@Peonies94 omg that’s so true! Everything I’m feeling, I check and it’s like “yep, progesterone causes this”. So I might be ok? I really don’t know.
The OTD is Saturday but we just agreed to test Thursday in cause it’s negative I have time to get used to it before we go into this massive friend party on Saturday.

whysohardtogetusername · 07/12/2025 20:00

@Sequins04 fantastic news, so happy for you! 🤗Hoping for many euploids 🙏

@zirafica I have to say I'm really not enjoying these pessaries now! I've had cramping too and bloated as hell. I had cramps on the first day of using them before I even did the transfer. It's so hard to tell. Everything I've read said an embryo doesn't start producing HCG until Day 6 and no symptoms doesn't mean anything!!

I'm very grumpy too but I don't know if that's the progesterone. For lunch I got out some fancy burrata I'd ordered as a treat, starting prepping for a meal focussed around it, then realised I didn't know if it was pasteurised or not and I couldn't eat it 😢. Not on the website or anywhere if it was made with pasteurised milk. Emailed the company who make it, waiting for that email on Monday. Didn't improve my mood 😂.

Peonies94 · 07/12/2025 20:04

@zirafica it’s just impossible to know! I have everything crossed for you! Progesterone seems to cause any and every symptom! I think that’s a really good idea! Gives you time to process the news a little either way, but it’s not too early so should still provide an accurate result!

@whysohardtogetusername i feel exactly the same! Soo grumpy and have had pretty much zero energy since starting the progesterone even before transfer! Definitely has me in a bad mood!

whysohardtogetusername · 07/12/2025 20:11

@Peonies94 I'm sorry it's happening to you too! I want to be cheerful and upbeat, it's stressful enough already 😂.

AnonTTC · 07/12/2025 20:29

Sorry you’re feeling anxious @zirafica - I think it’s natural in the wait isn’t it? Our minds go into overdrive! As the others have said though, I’ve been getting lots of cramps etc on the progesterone pessaries which I’ve been mentally noting to remind myself I’m getting these before I’ve even transferred so as to not fixate on them in the TWW. It’s funny isn’t it because when we’ve tried pre-ivf I would convince myself every symptom was a pregnancy one and now I KNOW it’s the progesterone because I’m getting them now with no embryo on board 😂 keeping everything crossed for you though. I’ve seen lots of people they have no symptoms or their usual PMS then get a positive test 🤞🏼 definitely agree with your testing approach ahead of the party, we are doing something similar as our OTD is 23rd but we’re going to test on the 21st because we have a string of events after that and I want to have a nice day just the two of us whatever the result is ❤️

@Sequins04 yes it’s Wednesday, thank you! I’ve been alright so far. Only started progesterone pessaries on Friday though so there’s plenty of time 😂 I think the worst part about those is that they have to be at the same time every day so I was saying to my husband I can’t believe I now have to potentially be up pre-7am EVERYDAY for potentially the next 10 weeks. Obviously I’m happy to do it and I’d take that over it failing but still a bit annoying haha x

whysohardtogetusername · 07/12/2025 20:44

@AnonTTC Pre-7am for 10 weeks sounds brutal. I've got mine at 8am, which doesn't sound so bad, but for some reason my dog keeps waking me up at 6am recently. Last few days I basically got over that, go back to sleep and then wham get hit mid-sleep cycle when my alarm goes at half seven.

I would say my clinic said you can take one immediately after transfer if it was due 1 hour before...which suggests to me you could probably move yours incrementally to get to a more normal time without an impact, e.g. 10 mins later each day until you hit a better waking up time? Maybe ask your clinic what they'd say to that approach?

AnonTTC · 07/12/2025 20:49

Omg now you’ve said this I’m wishing I’d done mine at 8AM/PM @whysohardtogetusername 😂 I think my thinking was I’m rarely out of the house by 7am but something I’m already on my commute to work at 8am so it felt least disruptive, but I didn’t think of my sleep!! We went to a gig last night and it was stressful hoping we’d be inside near a toilet by 7pm so I can see how it could quickly become a bit of a pain haha.

I think I might take your suggestion though and try to push it out until at least 7:30am because it feels a bit less brutal haha!

Peonies94 · 07/12/2025 21:13

@AnonTTC goodluck for Wednesday!! We just need this next few weeks to not go super slow now!

BlueSkyWinterSun · 08/12/2025 05:34

Hello,

I found this forum after insomnia scrolling! Super helpful to read everyone's updates.

I'm booked in for transfer on Wednesday 10th December using eggs I froze 6 years ago so not quite an FET but not fresh either. Frozen eggs, fresh sperm!

I turn 40 on the 21st December so I'm hoping to hold off testing until then as we have an overnight spa break so figure that would be helpful for either result.

Is anyone struggling with painful lumps and bruising from lupion injections? I've been injecting in the area under my belly button, but I'm starting to run out of un bruised skin to use. I'm going to ask on Wed what areas on the belly it can go. I was in brucelin injection before but had no issue with that.

Eeek 0530 now, I've been scrolling for hours and have an 0625am alarm to take the pessary 😅

Peonies94 · 08/12/2025 09:05

@BlueSkyWinterSun wishing you the best of luck that you get a nice amount of blasts and a successful transfer!
im on different injections that have to go in a specific part of the bum and it’s a really small area so I too have run out of space and have got little lumps, making it really quite painful now! Obviously I want nothing more than to have to do these for 12 weeks, but also so nervous to do them for 12 weeks!

Ahhh we are transfer date buddies! I have mine on Weds too.

I'm on pessaries/patches rather than injections for this part of the process so unfortunately can't help on that front, sorry!

Keeping everything crossed for you ❤️ Interesting to have somebody join with a their own version of transfer in the sense they are using your frozen eggs. How does that work, do they defrost them all and mix with your partner's sperm, or just fertilise one egg at a time for your transfer?
