December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

Amazing news! How far along were you when you did the test for downs etc? Was it on the NHS or did you pay private?

I was given a leaflet about NIPT testing at my booking appointment, but haven’t heard anything about it since, my SIL said they only offered it her because following her 12 week scan it said she was high risk?

She’s correct. NIPT is not the only test for Down. You get a preliminary blood test at the 12 week scan and if that shows anything above low risk they’ll send you to do a NIPT. Mine showed low risk so not going for a NIPT.

Hi everyone! Thought I'd check in and see how people are doing. I've got my 12 weeks but it's at 13 weeks scan tomorrow (finally). Have been signed off sick this week at work because the morning sickness combined with insomnia is something else. After a few weeks break, I've also been bleeding again with this subchronic hematoma. Which isn't great for my anxiety the day before a scan! Hope others are having a better time😅

OneQuirkyPanda · 16/02/2026 15:18

@whysohardtogetusername oh gosh that sounds really hard, bleeding is so scary isn’t it, even when you know why. I still check every time I wipe that there’s no blood after my bleed at 6 weeks.

My morning sickness massively reduced since 9 1/2 weeks, it’s still there in the evenings and when I brush my teeth, but no where near as bad as it was at 7-9 weeks. I have my 12 week scan next Monday, feeling a bit nervous, but I have quite a prominent bump now and need to wee all the time, so taking that as a good sign that things are progressing.

AlmostTime · 16/02/2026 21:23

Im booked for my 12 week scan next week,m (will be 12+2) I’m tapering off the IVF medication over the next few weeks.

I’m on 2mg of oestrogen for the next 3 days then that stops.

Has anyone else found nausea increases as they taper off?

I’ve been really fortunate, but the last week or so (week 9-11) since I dropped from 6mg of oestrogen to 4mg to 2mg i’ve been nauseas far more frequently.

zirafica · 20/02/2026 11:43

@whysohardtogetusername how did your scan go? I officially hit 14 weeks today, bring on the third trimester!!! have been feeling a lot better for the past 2 weeks but excited to be fully in the clear from all the 1st tri nonsense, glad it's over! have my midwife appointment on sunday (this is the one i should've had first but due to availability am having at 14 weeks instead of 8 lol) - any tips on how this will go and how long it roughly lasts? i've heard it's mostly admin?

CoolSummer89 · 20/02/2026 16:53

Hi @zirafica wow 14 weeks, where has the time gone!
in my booking appointment I was with the midwife for about 50 minutes. They basically ask you a lot of demographic and health questions to assess your risk(s) during pregnancy. It might have taken longer but he actually asked me to fill in a lot of the questions myself on the computer, while telling me something completely different about a healthy diet in pregnancy.
i also got weighed, had a blood test and needed to provide a urine sample, which I had no prior warning of so I had nothing in the tank!
because I am an IVF pregnancy my care is consultant-led, which is good for extra care and an extra growth scan, but a bit annoying as all my midwife appointments are in the hospital instead of seeing community midwives 5 mins from my home. I am also on aspirin as a precaution as I have family history of preeclampsia.

i have a question for you, I have my dating scan on Thursday, did you need to have a full bladder. My hospital hasn’t said this but I have seen that online.

@CoolSummer89thanks so much for the info! Will make sure to bring a bottle of water! The midwife I saw at the 12 week scan didn’t want to talk to me about ANYTHING, not even if I’d be marked as high risk (which is what I’m hoping for as I’d love to see consultants vs midwives) so I assume this meeting might be the one where we talk about this in detail.
so for the 12 week scan she said full bladder, as I was going in I was on the verge of needing a pee so I asked her if she needed full or empty and she said full!
thanks again for the details ♥️

@zirafica just realised I didn't check back in! Scan went great, all fine thank god. Such a relief!! How did your midwife appointment go?

Glad to be done with first trimester, but sadly nausea has continued for me 😱. But I think it is getting better? Maybe? I've had to go down to half days at work this week because I can't hack it 😅.

zirafica · 26/02/2026 20:56

@whysohardtogetusername oh yay, so glad to hear!! It went fine, got marked as high risk (yay lol), have a bunch of appointments scheduled in (16 week, 20 week scan, then a doctor appointment and 2 more midwife scans and I think that takes me to 28 weeks?). All of my symptoms except the bloat are now gone and this is the least pregnant I’ve felt in ages lol! Such a rollercoaster

CoolSummer89 · 06/03/2026 08:26

Hi all,
how is everyone doing?
we had our dating scan last Thursday, was such a relief to see it wriggling around and sucking its thumb! Haven’t heard anything from Combined test yet, so I’m hoping that means I’m low risk. Have started telling a few more people which is nice.
When are people telling work? I have told two close colleagues but I think I want to tell people before I start showing as I just feel a bit self-conscious about that. Would that be 16 weeks? I am 14 weeks as of yesterday.

Congratulations!

Seeing them wiggle is so reassuring.

I had to follow up for my combined screen results, which the sonographer said to do if nothing showed in BadgeNotes as it doesnt always interface through. I waited a week then phoned.

I’m 14 weeks +3 and have told my direct manager I’m pregnant as she knew I was doing IVF anyway, and the director as I have a lot of client commitments for Sept/ Oct that I will need to manage handover for soon. I’m gradually telling colleagues I’m close to as I speak with them, as we are remote, but I will see them all for an away day in April when I will be 18 weeks so I expect it will be obvious by then as I am tall and thin. I have a bit of a pooch already that I can hide, but no weight on my face. I’m too nervous to wear my ‘baby on board’ badge on the tube yet though, in case I bump into people I know locally. I don't know why, but I am nervous of that as it feels more real haha

whysohardtogetusername · 08/03/2026 14:10

Hello! Congrats @CoolSummer89, that's lovely and so cute to see them!

I haven't told my work yet except my direct manager (who I've known for 10+ years) as I'm on a temporary promotion and just applied to make it permanent. I'm not sure if it is obvious with me yet, I do look a bit tubby perhaps. I also have an away day in a few weeks when I'll be 18 weeks and I'm hoping I can get hide it until after that as interviews for the job will be around then!

@zirafica I think I've been put on a fairly standard pathway rather than high risk - next scan at 20+ weeks. Although I wouldn't say no to a bit more monitoring! Must be nice to have symptoms gone, although I can see how it might feel weird!!

zirafica · 07/04/2026 05:49

Just had our 20 week scan and have a healthy and very normal baby! How’s everyone else doing?

CoolSummer89 · 07/04/2026 09:00

That’s so good to hear @zirafica do you know what you’re having? Or will it be a surprise?

Our anatomy scan isn’t until almost 22 weeks so we went for a private scan over the weekend at 18 weeks and found out that we’re having a boy. My husband has always been very excited but I think it’s really helped him bond and I am now feeling more pregnant 😊

Great news @zirafica. Weirdly I also had my 20-week scan today (they moved it up), all good and happy baby!

What a great idea @CoolSummer89 - exciting to know the gender that early!

zirafica · 08/04/2026 17:11

nope we’re not finding out, wanted it to be a surprise as nothing about the pregnancy has been 😂😂
