December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

That was a lot to catch up on. Good luck to everyone having their transfers tomorrow.
Really good news on the fertilisation @Sequins04. Your description of IVF is so relatable!
I had my collection today, got 28 eggs retrieved which I can't quite believe. Now the nervous wait to find out how many are mature/fertilised tomorrow. Due to the large number I have also been changed to a freeze all cycle and will have to go through FET in the coming months. Hoping its not too longer wait. Im feeling ok at the minute, dont know if its a false sense of security and side effects might kick in tomorrow..
Also been given cabergoline to take for the next 8 days to help with potential OHSS. Nervous 5 dag wait begins now I guess..

Oh my goodness @RavenWillow that is amazing! Welcome to the 5 day waiting game. How are you feeling post collection? Make sure to take it easy the next few days.It sounds like moving to a frozen transfer is definitely the safest thing - we may even be future FET buddies!

I still can't quite believe it, this waiting to find out the fertilisation is crazy though..
Im feeling ok so far, little worried it wont be like this tomorrow and its getting me into a false sense of security, was so bloated pre collection and feel so much better now. Yeah I know you're right but does feel a little disappointing as its more waiting.
I was thinking that, hoping its not too long of a wait for us both.

Good luck to everyone having transfers today and good luck @RavenWillow with your fertilisation results! Thinking of you all today! Oh and @Sequins04 your day 3 results come in today right? Sending good vibes to you all ♥️♥️♥️

Ah @RavenWillow this is amazing news, congratulations!! :)
Glad it all went well. I was put on the same thing for OHSS and it soon kicked in and I felt back to normal again. I think it's better if they give you the meds right away rather than having to go back in etc.

I honestly don't think any 2 people are the same but if this gives you some additional hope, we got 23 eggs, 17 fertilised and we got 14 day 5 blasts frozen!! We were shocked beyond belief. Like you, we were freeze all because of the volume and I promise you it has gone so quickly, especially as you have Christmas in the middle. Keeping everything crossed for your updates in the coming days ❤️

OMG!!!!! Our first positive on the thread. This is such great news, congratulations @Peonies94. Your early testing has been worth it and now you get even more days of being able to get excited to meet your little one ❤️ Hope you and your partner are made up xx

Sequins04 · 04/12/2025 10:17

Congratulations @Peonies94 that is such wonderful news! Stick little baby, stick!! I'm glued to my phone waiting for the day 3 lab update. Doing some Christmas shopping online to try to take my mind off it

RavenWillow · 04/12/2025 10:20

Thank you for sharing that @AnonTTC. I actually feel fine, like its the best I've felt, the last week before retrieval I felt like I would burst but since I've felt so much better. I almost don't understand why I can't just transfer, but at the same time it's nice to feel normal for a while. Just waiting and waiting for the phone call for fertilisation results. It does feel like forever away to do FET but I'm hoping time just goes quickly now.
Congratulations @Peonies94 that's great news!

Peonies94 · 04/12/2025 10:26

@RavenWillow thats a great number, crossing everything that it continues going well for you! And thank you!

@AnonTTC thank you! Yes we’re so pleased! of course nervous but also very hopeful! @Sequins04 thank you! Ohh those waits are the worse! Hope you’re doing okay, and the call doesn’t take too long!

Well I'm glad you're feeling well :) Although, I totally understand why because of that you are itching to transfer, the waiting really sucks with this process doesn't it!? Could you try naturally in the meantime, or is that a no go? For me it wasn't an option as I have 0 ovulation naturally but I know some people who have used the gap for that just to see what happens. Treat yourself to some indulgence over Christmas and then once NY is here you'll be counting down to starting the FET process ❤️ Hope your call comes soon.. & yours @Sequins04 !!! x

Similar to AnonTTC, I had 28 follicles, 20 mature, 14 fertilised and all 14 made it to good grade day 5 blastos so it’s looking good!!!

RavenWillow · 04/12/2025 11:26

Thank you @Peonies94
Thanks for sharing that @zirafica
So I got the call and I think about 24-25 were mature, 17 have fertilised 8 via ICSI and 9 naturally. They have said they have a "do not disturb" policy so will now have no update until Monday afternoon. They did say if any are slightly slacking on Monday they will continue to culture until the Tuesday so just a bit of a wait now really..

@RavenWillow this is a great, great result!!! Shame day 3 falls on a weekend but you’ll have a great idea of what the finalnstate will be when they update you Monday and Tuesday. Congrats! If you’re ever going to have a glass of wine, now is the time!

AnonTTC · 04/12/2025 11:45

Brilliant news @RavenWillow - so funny your fertilisation results are the same as mine!! & our day 5 results were exactly the same @zirafica.

My clinic was exactly the same in terms of no update from fertilisation until day 5. One thing mine did say was that they expected 45% (ish) of fertilised to make it to blasts and they would contact us before day 5 if what they were seeing in over the coming days was indicating drastically less than that, so I felt pretty chilled knowing if we weren't contacted then we would likely get at least 7/8 embryos (obviously we ended up with much more but I would have been thrilled with those numbers either way). I'd imagine yours would be the same so with those odds it's looking good!!?

CoolSummer89 · 04/12/2025 12:08

Just popping a quick message in here as I am at work and will message again properly this evening.
best of luck for the next few days @RavenWillow, I had 14 fertilised and I got 8 blasts. But the hospital told me to expect around 30%, which would have been 4. I don’t know whether that was just to manage expectations, but I was certainly over the moon to get over 50%.
also did they measure your progesterone levels before egg retrieval? Basically if your progesterone level is too high (which it often can be if you are on an FSH only stimulation protocol and are a high responder) then you basically have no chance of an embryo sticking because your uterus thinks it is much further along post ovulation, as progesterone usually peaks 7 days post ovulation. So if you put a 5 day embryo in a 12 day uterus it won’t work. That’s what happened to me and even though I was impatient to have a transfer, I was comforted to know that if they had gone ahead it would have just been a waste.

And yay @Peonies94 ! This is such lovely news.

@RavenWillow rhsrs great news! Fingers crossed for the update now 🤞🤞

BellaTink647 · 04/12/2025 14:42

Great news @peonies94!!

I'm back home now post transfer with embryo on board! Feels very surreal. Can't actually believe we've reached this milestone..a year tomorrow since our first consultant appointment!

zirafica · 04/12/2025 15:06

Yay @BellaTink647 glad it went well! When do you test?

Peonies94 · 04/12/2025 15:44

@BellaTink647 its such a strange feeling isn’t it! Wow so many appointments I can imagine in the last year! Wishing you the best of luck! Hope you’ve got some nice plans for the next 2 weeks! What date have you been given for your official test date?
my bloods have been booked for the 10th in the morning 🤞

BellaTink647 · 04/12/2025 15:58

I have got a few couple of weeks with work and some festive bits which I'm hoping will help pass the time.
OTD is 17th December. But I am actually away with work that day (typical!) So probably going to wait an extra day so I can be home with hubby when we test.

Peonies94 · 04/12/2025 16:43

@BellaTink647 so typical that it lands that way! But yes it’ll be fine to either do a day or two before or after!

I find it so strange how every clinic gives test dates at different amounts of days! In my clinic each consultant has a different amount of days varying from 10-13 days! (Mine is 11days)

RavenWillow · 04/12/2025 17:01

Pleased it all went well @BellaTink647
They did test my progesterone before egg collection but never told me what it was, though that is a really interesting perspective I hadn't thought about. I guess not only is their risk of OHSS my hormones may be completely out with so many eggs. They did ring again this afternoon to see how I was and have booked an appointment on 16th to discuss next steps which is good :)

Sequins04 · 04/12/2025 18:03

Congratulations on having your embryo transfer @BellaTink647 - keeping everything crossed for you that baby sticks!

That's wonderful news that so many have fertilised @RavenWillow!

We had our day 3 update this afternoon. As a reminder they collected 7 eggs, all 7 were mature, and 4 fertilised with ICSI. We are so excited thar all 4 are still going strong at Day 3! Can't believe we're so lucky, and praying they keep going! Our next undate is on Day 5, and so they'll give us a call on Saturday 😀
