December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

@Blueskycat Agreed! Lots of clinics have closing days for Xmas. At mine, basically if my period had started after the 20 November, they would have shifted me to Jan. And there are some people who I guess prefer to enjoy the holiday without the stress of a cycle. I get that.

can I join please? I’m a little earlier as I’m having my transfer the 29th, but is anyone else in a similar position and having a transfer in the next week or so? Wishing you all the best of luck!

zirafica · 25/11/2025 09:15

Hiya, joining here! Got my transfer date confirmed on 2nd December. Triggering tonight, starting progesterone pessaries / Cyclogest on Thursday and then in a week we're crossing our fingers that our embryo sticks!

CoolSummer89 · 25/11/2025 14:48

Hi @Peonies94 Of course! Welcome. That’s so exciting, is this your first transfer?

hi @zirafica i have heard a lot about cyclogest but not experienced yet. Is this your first pessary rodeo?

@CoolSummer89 I had a failed transfer in September, what about you?

Peonies94 · 25/11/2025 19:03

@zirafica yoir a few days behind me! How are you feeling? My transfer is on the 29th! Started progesterone yesterday!

zirafica · 25/11/2025 19:51

@Peonies94 I saw your post somewhere else and thought omg same timeline! Well very close! TBH I’m terrified of it not working and then even more terrified of it working if that makes any sense 😂
@CoolSummer89 hi! First progesterone pessaries but I’ve had them in the past so kind of know what to expect (I think)

Peonies94 · 26/11/2025 06:40

@zirafica itd horrible isn’t it! I found my first transfer I thought about it constantly all day this time it’s on my mind loads, but probably not quite as much!

@Peonies94 it’s going to be okay!! sorry to hear this is your second time around - hopefully it works out ♥️

Everyone here seems to be on quite a similar timeline. I have just haf my first follicle check and they said im progressing well however im really mad as they have already said that i need to go back friday for another check but egg collection will be on monday and transfer friday which means wont be a 5 day transfer. This all is beacuse they aren't open at the weekend. Anyone else had a similar thing? This is my first cycle and just feel a bit lost tbh

i think some people have encountered this - it's popped up as one of the important questions to ask the clinic when deciding where to go, whether they work weekends. i don't think there's much you can do about it sadly, but on the other had i'm sure they'd not offer to do it on day 4 if they didn't think it was feasible?

I wish i had been more aware about this before. I was just so hapoy to finally have nhs funding approved and get moving after so long. Im worried my follicles won't even be that big by the time of trigger as most were only around 12 today and from what they were saying I would only have another 2-3 days stims maximum. Just seems a bit quick like they are just trying to squeeze me in a gap or something. I dont know, maybe im finally feeling the effects of the medication on my hormones and im all over the place. Sorry!

Don't apologise, this is the most emotionally intense process ever. We all feel you! So if they're 12 today that's not bad at all - I am doing a FET so slightly different actions, however my follicle was 13.8 on Monday and they told me it would be over 15 by the end of Tuesday so they grow quite quickly! I wouldn't worry about this! How many follicles do you have?

zirafica · 26/11/2025 16:55

@RavenWillow I've just seen on another thread (without stimulation drugs) a follicle was 13mm on 22nd and 23mm today (3 days later) so that's also very reassuring. It'll grow a lot in the next few days don't worry at all!

Peonies94 · 26/11/2025 17:15

@zirafica is this your first transfer? Yes not too long to wait now!! 🤞

Sequins04 · 26/11/2025 17:52

@RavenWillow I had my first scan yesterday and it sounds like my follicles were similar in size to yours. My clinic is also rescanning me on Friday and hoping for the egg collection on Monday. I thought that sounded too soon too, but the nurse said they can grow 2mm a day even after stims stop. Mine matches yours so presumably we're actually both on track!

RavenWillow · 26/11/2025 18:04

@zirafica thank you so much, think im jusy very over emotional today and full of cold and just fed up, just worrying about everything. Been so calm until today. Youve really helped though so thank you

zirafica · 26/11/2025 18:15

@Peonies94 yup first one! I don’t really know what to think so I’m pretending it isn’t happening!
@RavenWillow im so glad I helped! You’ll be ok, the doctors know what they’re doing and I’m sure they wouldn’t choose to implant if they didn’t think it was the right thing to do.

We really are identically on track then! Would you also be transferring on the friday or does your clinic open at the weekend?

Sequins04 · 26/11/2025 20:58

@RavenWillow the clinic gave me a booklet and it says transfer on day 5, which would be the Saturday. I'd just assumed they'd be open but must check. I did read somewhere though that the best incubator is a human, so maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing if it was day 4. @zirafica it is all a bit overwhelming isn't it.

zirafica · 26/11/2025 21:15
This Is Fine GIF

@Sequins04 it really is, what if it doesn’t work but then omg what if it does! Obviously this would be my first child so grasping what a humongous change to my life it would be is scary in itself. IT IS ALL GOING TO BE FINE.

RavenWillow · 26/11/2025 23:08

@zirafica @Sequins04 As much as I don't want to see you freaking out it is making me feel so much more normal! Its crazy like its something you've always wanted but either way it's so scary! Does just feel like another world right now, although I've had a bit of a meltdown today it still doesn't really feel real

I genuinely don’t know when it starts feeling real 😂 probably once you’ve got the baby in your hands and all the non sleeping kicks in. Honestly I’d say this freaking out beats the anxiety that used to kick in middle of the night on whether there’s something seriously wrong with me and whether we’ll ever be able to have kids etc. at least now I’m doing something about it / it’s out of my hands in a way?

CoolSummer89 · 27/11/2025 07:18

Hi @zirafica and @RavenWillow, best of luck for last few days of stims. Things can change real quickly, so hopefully your next scan shows this.

i had a look back at my notes:
On the Friday all my follicles were under 15mm but mainly around 12mm
On the Monday my follicles ranged from 22mm to 10mm. Triggered that night.
Egg collection was on Wednesday and they got a mature egg out of every follicle that was 12mm+ on the Monday.

Best of luck and eats lots of protein to support the growth!

@RavenWillow see you’ll be fine!!
@CoolSummer89 I actually did my egg collection back in August! 26 follicles/ 20 mature / 14 fertilised / 14 made it to day 5 blastos.

Was so excited about the results but knew something had to give at some point cause we weren’t getting pregnant naturally, so we PGT-A tested 7 out of the 14 blastos and only got one euploid out of the 7. Which explains it.

That euploid is getting defrosted and transferred on Tuesday!

If it doesn’t work we’ll get the remaining frozen embryos PGT-A tested and hope there’s more euploids hiding in there cause 1/7 is very low for my age (39, should be 30% euploids) but the testing is SO PRICEY.
So hoping this one will stick.
And then I can start properly panicking about my complete unpreparedness to raise a child 😂😂
