December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

Good morning from disgusting o’clock.

Could not sleep, so I have tested and it is positive! Absolutely in shock, we were TTC for two years and never saw a positive, so to have had an embryo implant on first transfer we feel very lucky.

Hopefully it sticks and the symptoms stay minimal. Thanks so much for all the support on here ladies, while I have been losing my mind trying to read nipples like they are tea leaves ❤️

@CoolSummer89 what lovely news to wake up to. Congratulations! I hope your brain let you get back to sleep! I've got my niece & nephew for a sleepover, I fell asleep before them and they keep their Christmas naughty elves in their room so I had an early rise to sort them out and now can't fet back to sleep 😂.

@AnonTTC great news it looks like levels are rising 🥳

@Poppy9991 so sorry to read you've had a negative test. I hope you've got some good support around you & all the best for your next transfer. Such an emotional rollercoaster

Peonies94 · 24/12/2025 06:59

@Poppy9991 in so sorry! Hope you get your bloods very soon to confirm for you!!

@CollsR thqt makes sense especially with it being Christmas. It’s so hard to make a decision either way and this time of year makes it even harder!

@BellaTink647 sorry to hear you’ve had a tough time as well! Hope you’re doing okay! I’ve read so much about bleeefing being normal but it doesn’t change the fact it causes so much stress and worry!

sorry I’ve not been very active on here and not sure if I’ve missed other stuff but I tried to catch up! Have my scan this morning so been awake half the night! So nervous and just such a bad day for it!

AnonTTC · 24/12/2025 07:08

Omg @CoolSummer89 - congratulations!!! What a lovely Christmas Eve morning gift for you and your partner ❤️ so pleased for you and hope you managed to get some sleep afterwards.

Not sure how you felt after the test but I have to say I think the news only sank in yesterday for me after a couple of days of disbelief 😂

Good luck this morning @Peonies94 - let us know how you get on and hope you feel better afterwards x

BlueSkyWinterSun · 24/12/2025 07:26

@Peonies94 all the best for your scan this morning!

AnxiousHopeful · 24/12/2025 08:52

Good luck @Peonies94 for your scan and congrats @CoolSummer89!!!

Also so sorry for everyone I'm missing, it turns out I'm really bad at using mobile to browse this!

We're currently stuck in what Google calls beta hell. We did a blood test on Monday and the result was 52 which according to the clinic isn't bad but isn't as strong as they would like to see. We did do the blood test a day earlier than they would have wanted to due to Xmas though.

My wife is spiralling a bit and I think the cheap stick tests she's doing are all over the place but this morning's did look lighter than the previous days so we've opted to go private and do another blood test today just as I know she will be struggling till Monday (which is when our clinic re opens)

Honestly I'm worried it's not looking good and I'm not sure that today will reassure her more than worry her more but am praying that the number has risen enough we can get through the holiday.

Christmas is a blessing and a curse when it comes to this, the time off has helped my wife a lot I'm sure but I really wish we could visit our clinic later this week! Wish you all the best on your sides and journeys, I feel like the worry will never end!

So sorry @Poppy9991 that you had the same journey as us! Wishing you all the best!

CoolSummer89 · 24/12/2025 10:33

Hi @AnxiousHopeful i am so sorry that you guys are going through this.
i think you are absolutely doing the right thing by getting a private test today to be more definitive.

completely understand your wife’s compulsion to test when she wants answers. Advice tends to be to test every 48 hours because results on urine sticks are too variable. You should know soon the result from the private clinic (assuming it’s same day), and then you can move forward from there.

Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you

@CollsR very wise to wait, hopefully you can be distracted by Christmas a bit!

@CoolSummer89 Fantastic news!! How wonderful. A literal Christmas gift 😄

@AnxiousHopeful I'm so sorry, I can understand you both must be incredibly anxious the whole time. Private test sounds like a good idea. What a tough time, the waiting is painful. I do think pregnancy tests are so different, it's hell to look at the different lines. Keeping everything crossed for you.

And good luck for today @Peonies94 agree what timing! Eeek! Hope it goes well 💚

CollsR · 24/12/2025 12:37

@CoolSummer89 Wonderful news!!! Very happy for you!! Lovely to have some good news!!

@Peonies94 goodluck with your scan!

CollsR · 24/12/2025 12:39

@AnxiousHopeful You’ve definitely made the right call going private instead of waiting until Monday. Wishing you & your wife the best. But here whatever the outcome.

CollsR · 24/12/2025 12:42

This embryo transfer is definitely my last ever. We have one little one already which I appreciate is a huge blessing. Praying this works & we can have a second. But definitely waiting until after Christmas to test. Enjoying the bubble of hope too much.

Makes sense @CollsR - apologies if my testing a bit earlier has been disconcerting.

Ideally I would have waited until test day, but Christmas is complicated as I am with my husband’s family. My brother in law and his wife have been TTC for 6 years, and they have faced huge setbacks. So behaving like I was pregnant on Christmas Day without knowing if I was or not, would have been very stressful. We have all been on the other side when we’re wondering if close friends and family are pregnant.

really hope you enjoy your Christmas and that you get the result you are hoping for.

This is so kind of you ❤️ totally know what you mean where you think somebody else is pregnant when you’re struggling and the fact you thought about them and tested to help avoid unnecessary stress is a very thoughtful thing to do given you’ve had a tough journey yourselves x

Not at all! I’m glad you tested early. We’ve all got to do what works for us. I usually test early and planned too. I’m genuinely pleased you got a positive & shared ❤️❤️

Im sorry to hear about your BIL and sister. I hope they cope okay. I hope you have a magical Christmas. Enjoy sharing your news! We will be having a magical Christmas.

Sorry if I’ve been a bit blunt. I’ve just been posting in short moments here & there.

I appreciate having this group to share with. I have two close female friends who are not responsive right now (Christmas for one and mental health for the other). I have other friends who don’t get it.

Bees28 · 24/12/2025 18:51

@CoolSummer89 congrats, congrats!!

whysohardtogetusername · 24/12/2025 19:10

@CoolSummer89 I just realised that you posted taking the test at 4am!! 😆That's so sweet of you that you tested early with your brother and sister-in-law's situation, I'd feel exactly the same.

Hope everyone has the best Christmas they can in the circumstances, and that for those of you celebrating positive news you can enjoy it.

Don't want to complain too much as I'm obviously happy and grateful I've got this far, but I've been getting worse and worse nausea. Made a mistake today and left the gap between breakfast and dinner slightly longer - felt so awful. Really don't love the progesterone pessaries as I'm sure they're worsening it. Hoping I can stomach a Christmas dinner tomorrow 😅🎄

Sequins04 · 24/12/2025 19:50

Huge congratulations @CoolSummer89 !!

BellaTink647 · 24/12/2025 20:01

@CoolSummer89 so pleased to see your positive news :) :)

@whysohardtogetusername I hope you can enjoy all the christmas food without too much bother!

@collsR sounds like you're making the right decision for you. We also waited until OTD which was 13 days after transfer. Enjoy the ignorance bubble a little longer if you feel you can ♡

@peonies94 really hope your scan went well this morning.

We told a few close family members this evening which was so lovely, but I'm just praying we haven't tempted fate as they are naturally all so pleased for us.

Peonies94 · 25/12/2025 06:39

i had the scan! Heartbeat was seen however through the night I’ve had some quite heavy bleeding! Think it’s all over. Epu is closed until Monday so gp will refer me there on Monday!

@CoolSummer89 congratulations, wonderful news!

CoolSummer89 · 25/12/2025 08:12

Oh @Peonies94 - I’m so sorry that this is happening while there is no access to support. Sending you lots of love ❤️

AnonTTC · 25/12/2025 10:57

Glad your scan went well but sorry you’re experiencing some bleeding.

I know nothing I say will help to ease your anxieties until you’ve seen a professional but I wanted to let you know I’ve spoken to so many people who had bleeding (even heavy) and everything turned out fine. This seems
to be especially common with IVF pregnancies, and also hematomas seem to be quite common so please don’t write anything off just yet. Keeping everything crossed that all is okay for you and sorry you can’t see anybody until Monday. Please let us know how you get on ❤️ xx

Peonies94 · 25/12/2025 12:17

@AnonTTC thank you! Will keep everything crossed but I just wish I could be seen and know what is doing on! I’ve read stories of people having bleeding for a few hours and this being the case, just feels like the longest wait ever!

BlueSkyWinterSun · 25/12/2025 12:22

@Peonies94 I'm glad your scan went well & so sorry to hear you're bleeding esp when the clinic is closed. I know it won't help how you're feeling just now, but I had several heavy bleeds with my last pregnancy. One morning I woke in a small puddle of blood. They were never anything to do with my son or the placenta, always ended up being cervical issues caused by hormones, cervical erosion, hematoma, and then a polyp. All were caused by pregnancy hormones. It didn't take away the worry but there was never a risk to him.

Sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way ❤️

CollsR · 25/12/2025 18:10

@Peonies94 Im very sorry you’ve had heavy bleeding. I’ve had one successful pregnancy and had VERY heavy bleeding and bright red at one point about 20hrs after gentle romance. I was very worried put everything was fine and they said bleeding is usually a vaginal wall tear. Skin is super thin now, like an old persons hands, thanks to all the drugs.

I’m not a doctor but I assume your scan was transvaginal. The most likely answer is scan damaged your vaginal wall a little and your baby is fine. I sincerely hope this is the case. I hope you can find some peace and calm until your proper check Monday.
