December 2025 FET

CoolSummer89 · 21/11/2025 10:50

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

oh yes totally hear you on everyone being different. You see loads of people say they have 0 symptoms at all and they’re convinced it hasn’t even worked so you just don’t know do you? Your point is already proven because I’ve had suuuuper sore boobs since like a week ago and the embryo wasn’t even back in yet 🤣 Thanks for sharing though.

I’ve had some cramps in my lower left side this morning which I can only describe as like ovulation cramps but I was having cramps pre-transfer from the progesterone so not reading too much into it.

I’m really sorry to hear about all of your family issues as well, that sounds really stressful and upsetting so hope you’re feeling okay and manage to get back and see them all ❤️ congratulations again on your positive though, hope that’s helped you lift your spirits a little at a tough time! X

zirafica · 11/12/2025 11:44

Thanks @AnonTTC! it’s just hard to process it with everything else that’s going on so I’m like YAY but also panicking about travel and logistics. It’s going to be fine, this time next week it’ll be a week before Christmas and I’ll be calm, at home, rested and able to relax. AND YOU’LL BE TESTING!

Blueskycat · 11/12/2025 12:10

Ahhh congratulations @zirafica, amazing news!! Hope you manage to get all your travel logistics sorted and into the more relaxing part soon.

Peonies94 · 11/12/2025 13:13

@zirafica im just so pleased for you! Let’s hope this is the start of many more positives to come! So far 2/2 so that’s great!

yeah absolutely your not far off of your due date, I think for me it was just panic as it took me a few days of tests to believe it fully! I’d say 3 days after testing I finally accepted that it was positive! Goodluck for your blood test!

my clinic has said I don’t need a second one but that seems to defeat the point a little so I feel like I’d like another anyway, but then also think I could save the money as it’s the same price for a scan at another clinic nearby so could wait a couple weeks and have a scan instead!

zirafica · 11/12/2025 14:23

@Peonies94 based on my experience with an ectopic, they probably would've already flagged if they found it too low (ectopic doesn't just not-double in 48 hours, it's generally lower hcg than should be at that time in the pregnancy) and scheduled in another follow up. if that helps at all! my clinic offers a 6-7 week scan, i think with the timings that'll probably be in jan now but i'm ok with that! but yeah a scan >>> blood test definitely! i'm going to test on my otd again as the clinic said definitely to do that before i call them, and then i'll schedule in a blood test with them for when i'm back, and then i think i'll sit still until the scan and try to enjoy a sober christmas 😆
@Blueskycat thank you so much! how are you getting on?
happy to report logistics are done, everything is booked, the weather looks lovely there so despite the sad occasion i am going to try to enjoy some walks by the sea in the sun. tbh i can't imagine anything i'd like more at the moment and i find it so relaxing, so it's actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise? not excited about waking up at 3am to catch my flight tomorrow though!

CoolSummer89 · 11/12/2025 15:24

Only had two Cyclogest and I am already fed up. This better work 😅

@Peonies94 @AnonTTC it’s positive and my mind is a mess and my fiancé looks like he might throw up so I think everything’s happening as it should?

Congratulations!!!! So pleased for you!

Poppy9991 · 11/12/2025 15:46

@zirafica huge congrats!! amazing news!!! yay!!

who’s testing next? My official test date is next Friday (not tomorrow) which would be day 11 post transfer (transfer day being 0) but if I manage to wait until Monday (day 7) that would honestly be a miracle. A very good friend is having a Xmas dinner at hers on Saturday and it’s going to be very odd for all my friends that I’m not downing fizz and cocktails…(will also be super thirsty watching everyone having a go at those drinks!) but I feel there’s probably little point in testing on Saturday as it would be d5 so even if negative this could be a false negative? I don’t know… I also know that last time I had a positive faint line at day 5 but that doesn’t mean anything. I’m overthinking it only because of the Xmas dinner really otherwise I wouldn’t be (too) bothered waiting until next week…

@CoolSummer89 good luck with cyclogest. I don’t like them (I take 3/day) but hate my injections even more (lubion + blood thinners, the worst).

But won’t complain if all of these work in the end!

whysohardtogetusername · 11/12/2025 16:10

@zirafica whoop whoop! God this is nerve-wracking but congrats 💓

@CoolSummer89 I also hate them 😂

@Poppy9991 I'm due to test on Monday? I think there was at least one other person before me? I don't think I can test earlier as I have stuff to do on the weekend and it would throw me off way too much. I have some work I could do with using part of the weekend to finish. I have a day job and also a self-employed creative job, yes I know mad but I've been off day job work and doing just the creative stuff this week which has a deadline in Jan. Keep telling myself it's a distraction at least!

BlueSkyWinterSun · 11/12/2025 16:26

Hey ladies, I've started writing back multiple times over the past few days but have been a silent reader instead 😂.

So lovely to read your great news @Peonies94 & @zirafica

@zirafica sorry to hear you're having a difficult time atm. That would be challenging enough without the extra hormones flying around everywhere.

Glad your transfer went ahead on Wed morning @AnonTTC and so the wait begins! I hope it passes quickly for you!

I had my transfer yesterday too. I went alone so my husband could look after our little boy. I thought I'd be fine but once I got to the car park & couldn't find a space, the tears just would not stop 😅. I got parked a few streets away and think the walk in cold wind and rain helped calm me down. My test date is the 20th Dec but we're taking my niece & nephew for the day so I'm thinking I might delay it until the 21st. In my head I thought it would be the 21st they told me to test anyway. At the moment my brain does not want to test early, I found the negative tests with a flicker of hope that it was too early really difficult when we were trying naturally.

Poppy9991 · 11/12/2025 16:52

@whysohardtogetusername good luck for the wait! not too long now and yea work is also very busy for me at the moment (although an office job so can’t complain too much) but it seems that everyone has crazy internal deadlines to meet by year end so the tasks keep piling up as well as my stress level so this afternoon at some point Inwas like f* that and went to the lounge (I am wfh today) and played some video games. That was nice ha! Work will still be there tomorrow but at least I had a bit of fun.
‘I’m exhausted these days! don’t know if it’s the hormones.

@BlueSkyWinterSun sorry you felt so emotional on transfer day. It is quite draining mentally the whole process. We’ve done most of it now hopefully but the wait is thé worst for me!

@zirafica Sorry to hear about the situation but you’re right, silver linings. At least you’ll be able to get a bit of sunshine. Good luck with your flight and it will keep you busy at least!

BellaTink647 · 11/12/2025 17:37

@zirafica so pleased to read your positive news! :) sorry about all the other stuff you're having to deal with. Hope you are doing ok...I can imagine your head feels a little messed right now!

@BlueSkyWinterSun glad your transfer all went well.

I'm 1 week out from OTD l. I've definitely been feeling more emotional than usual but I know that will be all the hormones being pumped in! Luckily I have a pretty busy week so hoping thay will keep my mind from thinking about testing!

AnonTTC · 11/12/2025 19:37

Glad to hear you’ve managed to sort everything for your trip home @zirafica. Do you think you’ll share your news or keep it secret?

And amazing your transfer went well @BlueSkyWinterSun , but sorry you were so emotional beforehand 😢 it is quite an overwhelming experience isn’t it? Also, my OTD is 23rd but we’re actually planning to test on 21st so we’ll be testing together too! 😀 x

Oh I wonder why we have different OTD when we transferred on the same day. Was your embryo a 5 day transfer? Maybe just different procedure for different hospitals.

RavenWillow · 11/12/2025 22:38

Thanks for all your kind messages everyone. I went for a scan today finally with a lovely consultant who has confirmed I have moderate OHSS but on the higher end of that, have fluid in abdomen and under ribs so have to continue to rest and take heparin injections for the next 2 weeks.
I did get a call from the clinic to say that they had frozen a further 3 embryos on day 6 so have 11 embryos frozen for when I am finally better and I have to say I am so relieved we were switched to a freeze all with what this has been like.

Congratulations @zirafica that is amazing news, really pleased for you! Sorry for everything else you have going on but seems you are looking at it in the right way to make the best out of a bad situation.

Congratulations @Peonies94 that is a really good number and bet you can't wait for your scan now!

Really pleased your transfer has been confirmed now @CoolSummer89

Pleased everyone's transfers have gone well so far and you all seem to be surviving the TWW one way or another 😊

Hmmm yeah I’m not sure? I think it’s just different clinics sometimes. Some do 11 days after and some do 13 (mine being the latter). From what I can gather online, most people (who are going to test positive) tend to get a positive result around 1 week after transfer so I feel fine doing it 11 days after rather than waiting the full 13. I’m with the NHS so maybe they like to avoid people testing early and seeing potential chemicals or something?

Oh @RavenWillow bless you! You must still be in so much pain then? I was given the injections for OHSS and they seemed to calm things down over a couple of days so hope you’re on the mend soon 🤞🏼 I felt the exact same as you and was glad about the wait for FET because my body did NOT feel capable of housing a tiny little embryo with the OHSS mixed in. I’m glad you’re feeling better about it though ❤️ with Christmas in between I’m sure your transfer will come around in no time! X

Blueskycat · 12/12/2025 08:51

Glad you had a good consultant appointment @RavenWillow. Hope you’re feeling better soon, OHSS sounds really tough.

My OTD is 12dpt which would be Weds, I’m just trying to decide when I’ll test as I have a tricky work meeting at 9am on Weds which isn’t ideal! I might take Tues off work and test that morning… sounds like some clinics do 11dpt as test day anyway so I can feel confident in the result then. Starting to feel really nervous about testing… we’ve had 2 failed FETs this year already so a third would be cause for concern- we’re completely unexplained.

Hopefully it’s a success but it’s hard not to worry! Glad to have a whole thread of testing buddies in any case, really helps to not feel so alone ❤️

CoolSummer89 · 12/12/2025 11:43

@Blueskycat Oh definitely, I think anything from 9dpt onwards will be pretty accurate as that is when (if trying unassisted) a period would be missed.

I think it's a good idea to test that day earlier, when you're off work, and get out any emotions from the result before tackling work.

I was just going through the thread is @Klmno still on the chat? I think they were also transferring this week.

Then we have @CollsR and me next week, and then that is all of us (so far)!

Hi everyone, thanks for the well wishes. Currently on a boat, wearing short sleeves and soaking up the sun so things could definitely be worse!
@RavenWillow so good to hear from you and glad it’s going better!
@BlueSkyWinterSun @AnonTTC we’ve seen the different testing dates for same day FET quite a few times on the forum. I think it’s just clinic preference?
I tested on day 9 and the result couldn’t have been clearer so I don’t think that will be any kind of problem. If anything you can retest on day 11 just to be sure, but day 9pt should give you the answer you’re looking for.
@CoolSummer89 i think @Klmno is more active on the November thread, said it was too hard to catch up on what’s been going on here (understandable!)

CoolSummer89 · 12/12/2025 13:19

Yea completely understandable! You are welcome back whenever you want @Klmno but also if you are protecting your peace that is good too

Oh yeah I'd imagine your result will be pretty accurate by 11dpt @Blueskycat.. from what I can tell anything past 7dpt tends to give a positive if you're going to get one? I reckon the clinic's just ask us to test later to ensure the result is as clear and accurate as possible, and avoid potential disappointment. I've ended up on an awful TikTok algorithm of post-FET tests and they all seem to be positive much earlier than 11DPT (honestly, never used blooming TikTok before having IVF and got it to look at other people's experiences and now I'm addicted 🤣).

Glad to hear you made it okay @zirafica, very jealous you're getting some sun! I bet the vitamin D will be perfect for you at this time!! Where is it you are? (obviously no worries if you'd prefer not to say).

Question..

  1. Has anybody here continued having coffee in their 2ww? I cut caffeine out pretty much completely the past month and wondering what the general vibe is?
  2. The reason I ask is because today I am FLOORED with tiredness which I assume is the accumulating progesterone in my system. Anyone else absolutely knackered after your transfer? I ended up having an instant coffee and hoping I've not done any damage haha (google says it's fine).
Poppy9991 · 12/12/2025 15:16

@AnonTTC I’ve been limiting myself to one coffee per day but I think is the general pregnancy advice is up to 2 cups a day (200ml - depends if you also have caffeinated tea). In any case shouldn’t affect your results I would think unless you drink loads. Maybe have a lighter one if you need it? or lots of orange juice etc to give you the energy.

And take some naps!!

I stopped coffee from the day of the transfer but I think I'll go to one a day cause ooofft my head has been agony since last night. It kept me up most of the night and haven't been able to venture out today. I'm putting it down to caffeine withdrawal going from 3 cups of coffee and 2 cups of tea a day to zero 😅. I asked good old doctor Google and it suggested it could be caffeine withdrawal.

Poppy9991 · 12/12/2025 16:01

I was looking through my bathroom stuff to find some first response pregnancy tests and found some that are too old now so will need to buy new ones but I also found an opened box with the positive tests I did for when I got pregnant with my boy… I knew I kept them somewhere (I know, ha, odd to keep them but it was such a challenge to get pregnant last time I wanted to keep them as a keepsake) but anyway, I realised that I wrote the day I tested on them they were 6 day post transfer and super clear results. So now, the early testing demon is tempting me again… I think I’m going to try and hold off until Monday still (day 7)! Will be hard!
