Hi! I’m starting the process of a FET in September, transferring a 4AB early October. Trying for baby number two. Anyone else? Would be great to have people to talk to amongst the symptom spotting, line eyes and general freak outs ☺️

Good luck for your scan today, @Sara237.

Sara237 · 29/09/2025 09:01

Thanks for all the messages of encouragement and support. Means a lot.

cakeislife1234 · 29/09/2025 09:26

@Sara237hope your scan goes well today!

I have mine at 3pm and also have the impending doom feeling, it’s taken so long to get to this stage im so nervous!!!

Sara237 · 29/09/2025 10:42

@cakeislife1234 it's really not a nice feeling is it? It's relentless and takes its toll. I've managed to get an earlier scan so just waiting in clinic ATM. Everything crossed for you too.

cakeislife1234 · 29/09/2025 10:51

@Sara237 it’s all the waiting and suspense before appointments and stuff isn’t it.

im dreading the 2ww before test day (if we get that far) as I know my anxiety will be through the roof!
thinking of you this morning, hope all goes smoothly x

Also dreading the 2ww, I don’t sleep well and end up testing at all hours of the night 🤦🏻‍♀️

My scan was perfect! Ovaries 'quiet', lining 9.8mm which clinic says is fine. It's usually thicker but has triple line so happy. In fact I'm ecstatic and extremely shocked after 18 months of set backs to be ready for transfer! All booked for Monday. Sorry I've been so doom and gloom. I'm going to enjoy this first little win anyway!
@cakeislife1234 Thinking of you at 3. 🤞
@InfertilitySWS The 2 week wait will be so hard.
@SarahAndQuack Thank you!
Clinic don't want me to start injections of progesterone till Thur? And pessaries from Wed. Doesn't seem much time to get the progesterone going but have to trust the process. In other news, my little boy has been sick all day. And of course, he just wants to be hugged while I want to scream, no more germs honestly I cannot get a sickness bug now!

SarahAndQuack · 29/09/2025 15:14

Oh, that's wonderful news! So pleased for you.

And you weren't being doom and gloom at all. So please don't think that!

Hope your boy is better soon. My daughter has been like velcro too - I keep trying to explain that once we get to the 2WW I cannot keep picking her up. How old is your little one?

cakeislife1234 · 29/09/2025 15:41

@Sara237 that’s wonderful news! So happy for you!

my scan wasn’t great. They think they’ve found (another) polyp and a cyst on my ovary. I’m waiting for a phone call back from the consultant as she was in a meeting when I was there.

but looks very likely will have to abandon this cycle, most likely referral for a hysteroscopy and yet another delay! After 4 years I really thought we were getting somewhere but just seems to be one thing after another for us!

Sara237 · 29/09/2025 15:56

@cakeislife1234 FFS, I'm so sorry, that's so frustrating. I know how you feel but you will be getting closer along even if it doesn't feel like it right now. Sending virtual hugs.

Sara237 · 29/09/2025 15:59

@SarahAndQuack So technically not really little at all...he's 8 😂 but still my little one especially when poorly bless him.

SarahAndQuack · 29/09/2025 17:58

That's rotten news, @cakeislife1234, I'm so sorry. Ovarian cysts are really bloody tedious.

Aw, same! DD is 8. I know exactly what you mean. They can be very grown up and they can also revert to needing a big cuddle. Forgive me asking (just I don't know many people in the same boat) - does your DS know that you're doing fertility treatment? DD does, for various reasons, though I am not sure how much she's really taken on board. She's desperate for a sibling, but of course she would have wanted a sibling close to her in age, and obviously that didn't work out.

Sara237 · 29/09/2025 19:26

@SarahAndQuack Oh my goodness; I assumed you had a younger child for some reason. You've got to see what chatgpt says about a big age gap. It's literally my new therapist.
My son has no idea. I won't be telling him until I'm at least 5 months pregnant! I just couldn't face the emotional rollercoaster but I completely understand why you would share it with them.

Oh, I do hope a big age gap is ok! Reassured you think it is.

I felt with DD it was right to tell her, because she knew something was up. She doesn't really know all of it or understand all of it, but we've talked about how I know she'd love a sibling but unfortunately, that doesn't always happen.

InfertilitySWS · 29/09/2025 20:52

@Sara237 fantastic news!! I started progesterone Sunday night, so come Friday and have done 5 days plus one pessary, so similar!

@cakeislife1234 aw I’m so sorry to hear that, so frustrating all these variables we can’t account for or control, sending hugs

Update from me, the consultant said they’ll only transfer one, which I’m okay with, but would have been good to know I won’t have to do another round if this one fails, oh well, hopefully it won’t 🤞🏻

Hi all, mind if I jump on here. Technically Sept FET as I had my transfer a week ago rofay, but not testing till October and the other thread has went very quiet so hoping I can find people in the same boat!

I had a fresh transfer of 1 of my 2 embryos back in '21 which resulted in my little boy who's now 3 😱 We've returned for the second embryo that'll likely be our last attempt. First time round I was cool as a cucumber, this time I'm clinging the walls and ChatGPT is sick of talking me through my symptoms!!

SarahAndQuack · 30/09/2025 17:54

Hello! I think there are a couple of us who moved over from the September thread.

How are you feeling, aside from climbing the walls?!

StillBelieving2 · 30/09/2025 21:10

Oh yes, great Hi! I'm ok, I caved this morning with a cheapie test which was negative, I know they're unreliable at this point but I had held some hope!
I'm flying to Ireland on Friday evening till Sunday, with OTD on Monday so debating when to FRER test...
How are you?

SarahAndQuack · 30/09/2025 21:32

Oh, that's such a hard situation! It is still so early. I hope your time away is a good distraction until OTD.

I'm ok - thanks for asking. Getting nervous about transfer on Thursday. I had a really good counselling session from the clinic today. I've never taken clinics up on counselling before (and have been dealing with them for over a decade!). I was really impressed how useful it was.

SarahAndQuack · 30/09/2025 21:33

You've got to keep in mind: a negative at this stage just means unproven.

StillBelieving2 · 30/09/2025 21:52

Oh really? I've never taken them up on it either! This will very likely be our last round, although I'm not ruling it out completely 🙈 Hopefully it won't come to it anyway 🤞 Keeping everything crossed for transfer, will be nice to be in the 2WW together!
I know cheapies are useless really, I dont even know what I bothered really! I'd just seen on other threads people's getting wild positives for 5 and 6 DPT!

Lalalansy · 01/10/2025 08:35

Hi everyone apologies for also jumping on this thread late. I also have a 7 year old (8 next month!) from ivf. I had a double embryo transfer yesterday. This will be my fourth (and last) transfer in 18 months and have literally lost all hope. The DET was with two 3BBs so not great quality. I also had one 4AA but they told me (5 mins before the transfer!) that they didn't want to use that one as it was a 6 day blast. It would have been nice to discuss that with them earlier.

Wishing everyone the best of luck! My test date is the 12th but the chances of me waiting until that date are zero 😆

Sara237 · 01/10/2025 13:07

@SarahAndQuack Good idea to use the counseling offered, I've never made use of it either though have had plenty of counseling just not from ivf clinic. It makes sense that they'd prob be the most helpful. Glad you found it helpful. Good luck for scan tomorrow.
@StillBelieving2 If that was your first test, you've done well! I could not wait till OTD but the upset caused by seeing early negatives means we prob should. So hard. Sending you every best wish 🙏.
@Lalalansy It shocks me that they don't go through which blast to use before the last minute...I appreciate they know best in this but honestly there must be a better way to communicate this...
Did they recommend transferring 2 embryos? I ask, as I've gone round in circles on this. I have an 8 yr old too! Yeah, I could not wait till the 12th either.
