26 weeks, and I have bought a baby gro and a cot mobile! Might need a bit more haha. I've made a list of stuff and we have a John Lewis baby appointment in early January for the big stuff, I'm still feeling a little uncertain about buying things and the house filling up with a by stuff. Starting antenatal classes today, so it's feeling a bit more real anyway!

confused2025 · 11/11/2025 17:34

@Orangewillow I have mine tonight as well but online. Not sure what to expect as it’s about birth tonight x

Orangewillow · 11/11/2025 17:40

@confused2025 think mine is too. Feeling a bit nervous and under pressure to make friends haha. Also my husband can't come as he's been sick so am a bit nervous going alone. Going along a little early to chat to instructor about previous losses and anything triggering that might come up

@Orangewillowsending you ❤️ and that’s a good idea. Mine is online and they don’t put their cameras on. I just didn’t want to have to drive so I’m being super lazy. I still can’t believe we are 26 weeks. How quick is time going.

lemons44 · 11/11/2025 19:14

@Orangewillow@confused2025 hope it goes ok! Did u go with NCT? I have NCT classes booked for January when I will be 29 weeks. Me and DH suddenly realised we literally don’t know ANYTHING about babies so thought it would help us learn.

Even though I haven’t bought anything yet we are thinking of decorating the nursery just before Xmas when I will be 26/27 weeks. Purely because work wise we are both SO busy in the new year and I’m worried that leaving things later when we will have such limited time will actually stress me out more, if that makes sense. I want to go for an under the sea theme 🐟 🪼🐳🐋🐙 (I know baby will be in our room for a long time first though).

Orangewillow · 11/11/2025 21:58

First class was good! There's definitely a lot I don't know. I'm the latest due date in the group which I feel a bit weird about, but they don't run the class In December which would work better for my due date so it is what it is!

lemonwrighty · 12/11/2025 06:35

I was only buying clothes in the early stages as I was scared to buy the big things. I’m coming up to 26 weeks now and I’ve ordered the nursery furnitures and the travel system which are all arriving just after January and the small bits like the bottle sterilisers and prep machine, it’s a weird range of emotions, it’s all exciting but still nervous, I’m really trying to enjoy this pregnancy and not let anxiety stress the baby out.

lemons44 · 12/11/2025 08:51

@Orangewillow how many people were in your class? I’ve heard that you can make lifelong friends in these classes but I’m not sure.

@lemonwrightyhow exciting! you are very organised. Same I am trying to just enjoy it, especially as I don’t know if we will ever go through this again as it took so long to get here! x

lemons44 · 12/11/2025 08:53

When is everyone due again? Do we have anyone due in Jan?

I am due 21st March x

Orangewillow · 12/11/2025 09:02

@lemons44 there are 11 women, and slightly fewer partners I think. One of my friends has made really great friends from her classes, most people I know have found it great for mat leave friends but maybe not lifelong besties. Luck of the draw really, I'm hoping to make friends from it of course, but I luckily have a couple of friends due close to me as well including one of my best friends who lives nearby so that helps!

I'm due 15th Feb

@Timetotryagain I haven't bought anything either - 18 weeks tomorrow. I have a Mamas and Papas and John Lewis appointment when I'm 23/24 weeks and I might start buying stuff then, only things like prams if they might sell out in the colour I want. I'll probably leave everything else which won't sell out to 34 weeks or so.

Edited

Mid March
But ivf and low papp A
= she, will likely be here by c sec in feb

lemonwrighty · 12/11/2025 09:28

@lemons44 I’m due 20th Feb but as I’m high risk I’m more than likely to have a c section at 37 weeks so baby might be here end of Jan/beginning of Feb 😬 I like to think I’m being organise but I’m really not, the house is a building site (just moved) and we’re aiming to have it finished end of Dec so just trying to control my stress at the moment by buying cute baby bits 😂

I’m due 15th March, was originally meant to be 18th but baby measured 15th March so my consultant has gone with that. Gosh I wish I could relax enough to enjoy it but I’ve not felt any movement since yesterday afternoon and I’m totally freaking out, I know it’s normal at 22 weeks to not feel movement every day but I’m just so anxious all the time that something is going to go wrong.

lemons44 · 12/11/2025 13:31

@KayEmmSquared I could have written this myself!! I started to feel movement for the first time on Friday (I am 21 weeks).. I have felt a lot of movement every day and night up until yesterday afternoon and since then nothing. I also read it’s normal but get worried too. I’m thinking of having a sugary drink later and laying on my side to see if I can get him to move. I do wonder though if he’s just turned around or something so I can’t feel him as much.

confused2025 · 12/11/2025 13:42

@lemons44if in doubt, just go to your maternity unit. They will understand. They stressed this in my antenatal class last night. Better to be safe x

KayEmmSquared · 12/11/2025 16:15

@lemons44 I did exactly that and guess what…there was movement! The relief!

@confused2025 i get really worried the maternity unit will think I’m overreacting or a pain in the butt, did they really encourage it at the antenatal class? Next time I might just call up, the stress can’t be good for the baby!

Orangewillow · 12/11/2025 17:26

I went into the maternity unit last week (25 weeks) to get checked and they were lovely about it, and I spoke to a Dr as well as the midwife who checked heartbeat, and they said always give them a call if you're worried! I've been finding the whole movement thing quite stressful as it does seem to vary, I think depending on the position they're in, midwife said they're still very small at this stage so sometimes it's harder to feel them (and othertimes he is sitting on my bladder and kicking it, which I can feel fine!)

confused2025 · 12/11/2025 17:28

@KayEmmSquaredyes, they encourage it as they say stressing isn’t good for the baby and they call out if you sense any change in movements to go to them. They’re really good about it - at least in my trust x

lemons44 · 13/11/2025 13:24

thats good @KayEmmSquaredI have also started to feel baby again.

lemons44 · 13/11/2025 13:26

Think I may make a separate thread on this on the pregnancy board but has anyone had sharp pains on their pubic bone? From what I’ve googled it doesn’t seem to be a cause for concern but could be pelvic girdle pain. I can feel baby kicking in a similar area but at 21 weeks surely baby isn’t strong enough to hurt me when kicking into a bone? The pain is like sharp shooting pains that has happened in some bursts a few times today.

lemons44 · 13/11/2025 13:32

the pains are in this blue circle. Anyone else has this?

KayEmmSquared · 13/11/2025 13:48

@lemons44 we are the same person at this point…I have pelvic girdle pain, that exact location. I went to see the antenatal physio and she took me through some exercises and sleep positions to try to help alleviate the pain (honestly nothing much works imho) and strengthen the muscles down there. The physio said the pain will be worse during growth spurts due to the pressure of the growing baby/uterus, but in between that it should be manageable. I also got a belly support band which is a miracle to have if going to be on your feet for more than an hour or so.

magpie234 · 13/11/2025 14:28

I have had the round ligament pain up the sides and randomly bad tailbone pain too which is making sleeping really uncomfortable. Probably because I have spent so much time sitting down lately…
