Thanks all for your replies.

Happy to report that baby looked fine on the scan.

@Strawberrryfields thank you! And sorry you are having nerves too. I think I felt flutters last week multiple times, and maybe one kick.. but this week I would say I have questioned if I felt anything at all!
I suppose it really is still too early to feel things regularly.

@KayEmmSquared my consultant made me jump up and down 🤣 she was also pushing very hard and it was a bit painful. She measured everything fine but struggled with the heart as baby kept putting his arms in front of it .. which was when I had to do some jumping to get him to change position.

That’s brilliant news congrats! Hope you can have a relaxing weekend enjoying your great news 🥰

Thank you just keeping everything crossed 🤞

I had to walk around for 15 minutes and drink a sugary drink during my early anomaly scan to get the baby to flip the right way. For those who have felt baby move - what does it feel like? I feel something in my lower abdomen but I have so much gas and constipation it's really hard to tell. Does it feel like an actual kick? or just like gurgling/pops?

@KayEmmSquared @worldwidetravel2017 do they tell you there and then if things are looking ok?

Yep

Yesterday pm i felt first ' flutters '

Id felt other sensations before
But yesterday was 1st flutters

lemonwrighty · 01/11/2025 10:52

@SamVan it’s quite hard to describe, it feels like flutters at first, as you get further along it then starts to feel like something wriggling around in your tummy. I’m 24 weeks and it feels like baby is trying to escape my tummy with the movement, I’m starting to see the movement on my tummy as well. It depends on where your placenta is lying, I think posterior position is where you feel the baby more compared to if you had anterior placenta. But I think you’ll be able to tell between the baby moving and gas/constipation, the feeling is just different

lemons44 · 01/11/2025 11:10

Does anybody else feel weird about telling people you are pregnant? Now we had our 20 week scan I have started to tell some people (our immediate family and best friends knew already). I’ve told my colleagues and just typing a text to tell some wider friends and all of a sudden it just makes me want to cry and makes me feel really exposed! It’s such a hard feeling to describe. I don’t know if anyone has felt this

magpie234 · 01/11/2025 11:53

@lemons44 I feel the same and would ideally keep my preg a secret till they are born! Have told quite a few people now as will be seeing them in the run-up to Christmas but have so far managed to avoid telling anyone in person. Have been keeping it pretty lowkey tbh!

lemonwrighty · 01/11/2025 12:32

@lemons44 we’ve only told people face to face. We told our immediate family and a few close friends of ours around 8 weeks and then with others they only knew when they saw me with a bump as it’s getting quite hard to hide now, there’s still many people that don’t know

Timetotryagain · 01/11/2025 22:48

@lemons44 i cried when i announced my last pregnancy at 30 weeks or something (was covid times so easier to hide haha!) I felt the same as you was so worried and just didnt want to announce

So glad your scan went well! I have mine this week but i am feeling movement everyday now which is nice :)

confused2025 · 02/11/2025 16:22

Hope everyone is doing well. I had a moment of panic this morning - hit 25 weeks and we have very little done. I have picked out what pram I’m going for - (Silver Cross Nia - it just seems so practical) and I have put my baby list together on Amazon’s baby registry (I’m not sharing this with anyone but using it for the 15% discount). My 28 week appointment is on the 28th November so plan to order all of these things then (hoping for additional discount lol).

lemonwrighty · 03/11/2025 13:13

@confused2025 I’m only a week behind you and I’ve not bought anything other than newborn clothes. I’ve got an appointment with John Lewis in a couple of weeks to try out a selection of travel systems and I’m hoping to get most of the main bits during the Black Friday sales. We’ve just moved house also so trying to get the house sorted before baby arrives is absolute mayhem.

confused2025 · 03/11/2025 21:14

@lemonwrightymoving house is stressful. I’ve just been lazy lol. Make sure you set up your baby list on Amazon for the 15% discount if getting anything on there

lemonwrighty · 04/11/2025 06:40

@confused2025 it really is, hopefully the house will be done just before Christmas then we can be in full baby mode. How did you find the silvercross Nia? I like that it’s air cabin approved so you don’t have to buy another stroller if you’re going away. I was looking into the silvercross cove and the reef but both are quite bulky.

confused2025 · 04/11/2025 19:36

@lemonwrightyi haven’t seen it in real life yet but I’ve been convinced from all the instagram ads they send me 🤣. Yeah it will be good to be all settled. We need to move things around for a nursery etc but I think we will be in the zone after the 28 week scan x

lemonwrighty · 05/11/2025 13:23

Hope Your 28 weeks appointment all goes well.
I can’t believe I’m writing this but for the last few days I have been researching and applying for nurseries!! All which have a waitlist, luckily the one I want have availabilities for when I want the baby to start but it’s crazy how booked up they are already for spring 2027 so if you haven’t looked at nurseries/ childminders and your area is in demand, I’d probably start looking now 😬

confused2025 · 05/11/2025 13:31

Thank you @lemonwrightyand good advice, I haven’t even thought of this

SamVan · 05/11/2025 13:43

@lemons44 @magpie234 I feel the same. I've now told work and most of our friends (no public announcements just as and when we see them) but it's hard to hide how as I'm huge at 17 weeks due to a large fibroid. Totally get feeling exposed but also if I had a miscarriage at this point I'd be so devastated and unable to function that they'd probably find out anyway. I hope your pregnancies are still going well!

Btw does anyone else have large fibroids? I have an 11cm one which my doctor says could degenerate at some point and will be very painful if it does. The reddit posts I've found of people who had this happen are horrifying so I'm really nervous about it now.

worldwidetravel2017 · 06/11/2025 17:39

I have a fibroid but its small

Timetotryagain · 10/11/2025 22:34

Is anyone else scared to buy anything through fear?

21 weeks now and not bought a single thing yet :( i have made lists of what we need to buy so thats a big step!

confused2025 · 11/11/2025 04:30

@Timetotryagain yes, very scared. I have my baby Amazon list and my pram in the basket ready to go after my 28 week appointment on the 28th Nov. You are not alone x

magpie234 · 11/11/2025 08:51

@Timetotryagain Me too though I am a way behind you at 15. My plan is to get a list together then buy things (in the Jan sales!) after our scan at 20 when I will (hopefully 😩 🙏🏻) feel more reassured. But I reckon even then I will feel like buying anything is jinxing it! Only just ordering some new clothes for similar reasons. In disbelief that I actually finally have a bump growing!

KayEmmSquared · 11/11/2025 10:04

@Timetotryagain yes! 22weeks and not for a single thing, I can’t even bring myself to write a list, I have one in my head but I can’t write it down, I’m terrified! Going to go pram scouting in a couple of weeks then hopefully get it in the Jan sales 😂 that will probably be our first purchase but 🙈

lemons44 · 11/11/2025 13:04

Thanks @magpie234@lemonwrighty@Timetotryagain it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has had these feeling about telling people!

@Timetotryagain I haven’t bought anything yet, I also feel very scared, although I am finally starting to feel movements (hooray!) which is helping my anxiety. I am really tempted to just be brave and browse on Black Friday as I really don’t want to miss deals when everything is so expensive.

SamVan · 11/11/2025 16:19

@Timetotryagain I haven't bought anything either - 18 weeks tomorrow. I have a Mamas and Papas and John Lewis appointment when I'm 23/24 weeks and I might start buying stuff then, only things like prams if they might sell out in the colour I want. I'll probably leave everything else which won't sell out to 34 weeks or so.
