@Hopeloveandkindnessit could be just pregnancy, or low blood pressure or glucose levels. I sometimes get a feeling of being very hot and need to lie down asap. I just bought a blood pressure monitor online for £20. It might be good to get one of these and to maybe see if you can get in with your GP just to make sure. Hope you’re ok x

Thanks I think I will, can the low blood pressure happen suddenly ? I had mine checked a few weeks ago and was normal but I normally am on the lower scale for BP. If it doesn’t pass il call the doctors. Trying to just eat a couple of rich tea biscuits to see if it helps the nausea pass 🤢 xx

confused2025 · 19/08/2025 06:30

@Hopeloveandkindnessi think it can that’s why I just got the machine to check it regularly but I’m pretty sure it’s very common and not something to worry about. I am loving rich tea biscuits at the minute as well ☺️

Told my line manager and some of my team I'm pregnant over the last couple.of days, felt so nerve wracking (even though they're v supportive and know I've been doing ivf so it's not a complete surprise) and kind of makes it feel more real - but also like I'm tempting fate by telling them!

SamVan · 19/08/2025 21:29

@lemons44 Thanks, that makes me feel better!! I guess there's nothing much I can do at this point it either sticks or it doesn't. I had food poisoning last night and thought it was a miscarriage but no bleeding so far. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling super emotional. I think that's normal. I cried yesterday morning and my clinic agreed to have me in for an earlier scan though they don't think they'll see anything. You're not only pregnant but also on lots of meds - give yourself a pass :)

@confused2025 My obstetrician said nail polish in general was fine. But i use nailberry as it's meant to be non-toxic (no idea if its any different to the rest but it doesn't have a strong smell).

Is anyone else waiting for their first scan? I'm having my first one this friday at 6w2d but it'll be abdominal. Not sure if they'll be able to see anything.

lemons44 · 19/08/2025 21:48

@Orangewillowmy manager knew from 4 weeks as she knew we were having a transfer 🙈 as well as both sets of parents. Honestly I wish people didn’t know but our parents and my manager (plus two of my friends) all know of our IVF journey and all knew we had a FET so I kind of felt pressure to let them know the outcome. IVF sucks and takes away so much. We think we may do a gender reveal at some point so we still get to have that feeling of an announcement that we have missed out on.

@SamVanso sorry you had food poisoning! How do u feel now? How comes the clinic are doing an abdominal scan and not a transvaginal one? x

confused2025 · 20/08/2025 07:12

@SamVannailberry is a great idea. Hopefully you just ate something that baby didn’t like and I’m sure everything will be ok. @Orangewillow I told my manager last week and it does feel like a little bit of relief. Also told close family at the weekend.

Had a scan at 9+4 and everything looked good, feel a bit more relaxed now as had a few days this week where i have felt better in terms of nausea and wortied. But seems its probably normal for this stage to be starting to feel a bit less sick 🙏🙏

I am not sure when i will tell work, maybe in a few weeks!

lemons44 · 20/08/2025 13:07

@Timetotryagaingreat news x

confused2025 · 20/08/2025 13:09

@Timetotryagain this is amazing news 🥰

Hopeloveandkindness · 20/08/2025 13:22

I have a private scan on Friday and I’m so nervous today!! I just keep thinking aw somedays I’m not very nauseous or some days I’m not overly exhausted etc. I have really got in my head. Seen a lot online about miscarriage lately and think I have been triggered. I suppose not anything I can do but hope and pray everything is still ok and baby is still growing away nicely in there. Hoping this anxiety reduces the further along you get 🙏🏻🙏🏻

🤣 I’m the same felt so nauseous yesterday but today feel not as bad and hoping for it to come back it’s absolutely just the biggest mind game but I’m glad I’m not the only one. Coffee is still making me gag so hoping that’s a good sign although really missing a nice decaf cappuccino so hoping my love for it comes back 🥰 I go on holiday next week so hopefully all good news and can actually enjoy normal food 🤢

@Hopeloveandkindness I had this on instagram. That algorithm is so bad. You can block trigger words though and I found that good so would recommend you doing this. Now all I’m seeing is ads for bugaboo, silvercross and icandy 🤣

🤣🤣 I will give this a try!! Or I will just stay off socials for a few weeks give myself a detox!! xx

lemons44 · 20/08/2025 21:57

I am also really struggling with the social media algorithms showing me very sad things! Think I need a break from it.

Timetotryagain · 20/08/2025 22:10

@lemons44 @Hopeloveandkindness i agree with @confused2025 and muting words or clicking "see less" ot "not interested" on those kind of posts. I have muted a lot of those words and i feel better for it 💕

Timetotryagain · 20/08/2025 22:12

@worldwidetravel2017 glad you are starting to feel less sick now!

Oh for those over 12 weeks, did your midwife start you on aspirin due to it being an ivf pregnancy? I have heard many do due to pre eclampsia risk (although i had a natural frozen transfer so less risk there)

confused2025 · 21/08/2025 01:56

@Timetotryagain yes, but it wasn’t due to IVF it was down to being advanced maternal age. They will likely discuss this with you at your booking appointment.

Orangewillow · 21/08/2025 07:34

@Timetotryagain no I've not had aspirin mentioned to me at all. At my 12 week scan they said I was low risk for pre eclampsia so maybe that's why...

I never had this mentioned to me at my booking app, have my 12 week scan on 5th sept so maybe they will mention it then xx

Oh interesting, thanks for sharing. With no other risk factors? Will ask about this at my booking appointment, making a list!
