I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

Quick q for everyone… do your clinics count your day 1 as the first day of any bleed including those that are technically withdrawal bleeds after stopping medication (eg progesterone)? Or do they say that only day 1 of your first natural period (so the next bleed after the withdrawal one) counts? Mine is the latter which wastes so much time!

Miraclemuma03 · 08/07/2025 08:02

Not sure what our clinic does, though I just had a period and started the pill during it for 10 days and now have to wait for I suppose is a breakthrough bleed and then il start stims .

Two made to the freezer - a 4BB and 4AC. One more little bit behind so may make it, but unlikely.

Feeling so grateful ❤️

Heya @magpie234 , I'm pretty sure my clinic do not count the withdrawal bleed as Day 1. My clinic made me wait for the bleed after the withdrawal bleed to conduct my FET. It really sucks waiting, doesn't it!

Oh woooooooo!! Look at you go! So relieved for you @PlanBFertility !

RainbowFluff · 08/07/2025 09:55

@PlanBFertility great news! So pleased for you.

My surprise today was that they don’t count or measure the follicles, I tried to count and could see at least 8 but it’s only day 3. I’ve had around 13 eggs in my previous cycles so assume it will be similar. At least my date with Wanda was very quick!

@Timetotryagain congrats!! ❤️❤️

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 12:51

Thank you! @PlanBFertility obviously super early and super faint but atleast i can stop obsessivley symptom spotting etc!

How are you feeling 1dp?

magpie234 · 08/07/2025 13:25

@Timetotryagain Huge congrats! Hope it keeps developing nicely. This is the inspiration I need as I wait to start a natural cycle. Did you take progesterone or fully natural?

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 13:38

@magpie234 so i started taken progesterone suppositories at 3dpo (2 a day) but i didnt have a trigger shot or anything so i ovulated naturally.

Symptoms wise for those symptom spotters. Boobs feels absolutely fine, not swollen atall and not painful! But i do have a heightened sense of smell but apparently thats from the synthetic progesterone so honestly no symptoms. A little bit hot but again - progesterone!

Hi,

New here.
CD1 and got the go ahead to start stims tomorrow morning. DH is away and I’ve been prescribed the ovaleap pen so I’ve just been trying to work it out. Luckily he is home tomorrow and has no more travel booked for the foreseeable so I’ll have a more grown up grown-up to help!

Not sure if there’s a different thread I should be on or if other people are ttc here who already have a child(ren)? We are ttc our third and I don’t want to come across as insensitive…

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 14:12

@TammySue i had the ovaleap pen and it was really easy to use after watching a few of the videos on youtube with how to refill the cartridge etc. We have a toddler and theres a few others on this thread ttc a 2nd/3rd as well

PlanBFertility · 08/07/2025 14:35

@Timetotryagain crampy. It’s worrying me!

magpie234 · 08/07/2025 14:46

@Timetotryagain Have you genetically tested your embryo/s?

Orchard12 · 08/07/2025 15:02

.

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 15:07

@PlanBFertility i was (and still am) quite crampy i think its quite normal after a transfer!

@magpie234 yes we genetically tested ours as we have a history of pregnancy with genetic issues. Have you?

magpie234 · 08/07/2025 16:11

@Timetotryagain No… trying for our first but I think next time if there is one we will test as hate feeling we might just be wasting time transferring aneuploid embryos and never know or think the problem is something else. Conversely if we knew we were transferring euploids it would definitely mean something else was at play! So am kicking myself a bit. Consultant suggested not to for our first round though.

Woooaaaaaaaaaaaahhh wooooooo I'm thrilled for you bud!!!! Massive congrats @Timetotryagain!!!! Your positive result is spurring the rest of us on!!!!

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 18:07

@magpie234 hopefully it works out for you! I think a lot of the evidence says that pgt testing not beneficial unless advances maternal age or known genetic issues so fingers crossed!!

@ALittleExpressive thank you!!! How are you feeling? Have you been tempted to test?

ALittleExpressive · 08/07/2025 18:26

@Timetotryagain ohhh verrrry tempted! But my partner wants to wait until at least Sunday (she was resolute on waiting till the blood test), but she's now saying 9DP5DT, ha!

magpie234 · 08/07/2025 19:02

@Timetotryagain I am 35 (36 in Oct) so prob so count as advanced maternal age alas!

@ALittleExpressive My husband is the same as your partner. How do they have so much patience?! My rationale is I wanted some more time to come to terms with a failure before speaking to the clinic - and was glad I did that in the end. But really… I am just extremely impatient 😅

Timetotryagain · 08/07/2025 19:21

@ALittleExpressive my partner was the same but i just had a moment of impulsivness, went to the shop and did it in secret and then i said to him "you might be annnoyed at me but look at this" nahah

@magpie234 yeah the ones not going through the physical process probsbly dont think of it every second of the day but we do haha!

My clinic otd is 13dp5dt which seems super late!!!

ALittleExpressive · 08/07/2025 19:23

Haaa, @magpie234 ohhh I'm in the extremely impatient club too! 😹

What's the next major date in the calendar in terms of your treatment?

magpie234 · 08/07/2025 21:23

@ALittleExpressive Next major date is whenever my period decides to show up so I can start again (not due till 19th tbf). But we have a consultation next Thursday to talk through next steps (will be a natural/natural modified cycle). Today I also booked us in for an appointment with a respected urologist and got one in a month. So even if my period throws a spanner in the works we will still feel like we are moving forward even if not with ivf. Urologist so expensive though and not on NHS or covered by health insurance… sob!

So when is 9 days post for you then and are you going to test then do you think?
