July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

Hi ladies! Please can I join?
I’m due to start my first cycle next week, which will be a freeze-all (hopefully!) as I have PCO. 36yrs, trying for first baby and also have Endo. Currently swinging between denial it’s happening and everything @SummerSolstice25 described 😣 will be lovely to have a thread of people who get it 🙂

Hopeful786 · 24/06/2025 23:34

Hi, I am starting down reg 4th July, no previous children, 39 years old, tried ICSI with my ex previously in 2018 which failed, now trying again my current DH, nearly 20 years unexplained infertility, its so draining. Would appreciate any support x

Miraclemuma03 · 25/06/2025 02:58

@Bejewelled19 @Hopeful786 welcome and good luck for your rounds. There are great support in these groups. Loads of beautiful supportive woman who are also going through the same thing.

Miraclemuma03 · 25/06/2025 08:57

Did some blood work on tuesday morning and got results this morning. Looking at where I am in my cycle since im late for a period. My progesterone is still too high to have a bleed, but everything else is back to baseline. hoping today they dropped and I start tomorrow.. really hanging to ring with day 1.

waitingforourmiracle · 25/06/2025 11:13

@Miraclemuma03 fingers crossed! My period started very very light last night and still isn't enough to call the clinic as day 1, hopefully will in the next 24 hours! The cramps are awful!

waitingforourmiracle · 25/06/2025 13:52

Got a provisional transfer date of the 11th July! Going for a scan 4th July

FancyGoose · 26/06/2025 08:05

Lovely to see so many people joining and wishing everyone the best of luck for their transferrs/egg collections etc. It's such a shitty process but it's so good to be able to speak to other people who get it.

I've been on progynova for a few days and have my first scan Tuesday to check what my lining is doing. I'm guess my transfer will be early the w/c 7 July. Feeling really anxious about it already but trying to take it one day at a time and remind myself that this is a different protocol and a different embryo so there's no reason I couldn't have a different result to all the previous rounds.

SummerSolstice25 · 26/06/2025 08:22

@FancyGoose I think we’ll be similar dates.
I have a scan on Monday.

I am on the public system and the clinic won’t do PGTA, and they won’t allow me to pay the add on myself to include it. Should I be concerned about this considering my age? I am so new to this so I may not fully understand it but does it mean there’s more chance of a miscarriage or a child with a disability, or have I completely misunderstood what PGTA does?

FancyGoose · 26/06/2025 08:42

@SummerSolstice25 pgta tests whether the embryos are genetically normal (euploid). If they're not, then there is a good chance they won't implant or if they do implant then yes, there's a higher risk of miscarriage or issues for the child. That being said, a euploid embryo isn't a 109% guarantee - they have higher rates of implantation than an untested embryo but far from 100% (I think around 70% but would have to check) and it doesn't rule out the risk of miscarriage or disabilities entirely. My main motivation to test was to know I am only proceeding with genetically viable embryos rather than 'wasting time' transferring something that was never going to work as we've been on this journey for a while now - and I am hoping if we do get a positive that it might make me marginally less terrified of having another miscarriage but we'll see! But it's definitely not a must have - lots of people don't test and obviously if you were conceiving naturally you'd never be able to and the majority of pregnancies are healthy and straightforward. PGTA doesn't change the outcome in any way, the embryo is either going to stick or it isn't, but it just let's you rule out the ones that definitely won't.

Exciting we're on similar timeliness - is this your first FET?

SummerSolstice25 · 26/06/2025 08:55

@FancyGoose I’ve been so worried about it. If we were allowed to pay the extra we definitely would. I hadn’t thought about it the other way though, we’ve obviously been trying to get pregnant naturally for the last year and there would have been no opportunity to test if that had worked out so I suppose I have to look at it that way.
This is my first treatment, unsure if it’ll be fresh or frozen, I assume that depends on how my stims/scans go, I do know it’s ICSI though. I’m usually so well researched for things but this has come about quicker than I thought it would so I’m very much learning on the go.

FancyGoose · 26/06/2025 09:29

@SummerSolstice25 it's probably a good thing to not have researched too much and to take it as it comes. Yeah I think usually they'll go for fresh unless there is a reason that they don't think that's right (like risk of OHSS) - I've always had a fresh other than this time because we had to freeze all to test. Best of luck with it all - it's horrible we have to go through so much just for a chance to have a family.

Timetotryagain · 26/06/2025 10:31

Hello :) i am day 12 of a natural FET cycle, had my scan today and lining 8mm and due to ovulate soon so looking good so far.

Good luck to everyone this month!!!

Timetotryagain · 26/06/2025 10:32

I recognise a few usernames on here from the march/ apr threads too :)

SummerSolstice25 · 26/06/2025 15:11

@FancyGoose I assume they’ll put a fresh one in there (assuming we get any embryos at all of course), and if it doesn’t stick anything else will be frozen and those will get transferred down the line?

GamerGirl09 · 26/06/2025 16:07

Been reading through recent messages on the thread and everyone’s been through so much ♥️ its such a tough and draining process on so many levels isn’t it. Wishing everyone the best of luck this time round 🤞🏼

I started Progynova yesterday, have scan booked on 7th and hopefully transfer the week after ♥️

GamerGirl09 · 26/06/2025 16:09

@SummerSolstice25 that’s right 👍🏼 but if you’re higher risk of OHSS they’ll freeze all instead and you’ll have a FET the next cycle or whenever you/your clinic are ready

Timetotryagain · 26/06/2025 16:18

Has everyone told work whats going on? I havent told them explicilty just said medical appointments (just because i dont really want them knowing i want to be pregnant and pass me up on opportunities) and so far i have gotten away with early morning scans so no time off needed. But thinking of booking the day after transfer off (i am doing FET so already had retrieval etc)

ALittleExpressive · 26/06/2025 16:45

Hey @Timetotryagain and others,

I reckon I'll join you over in this thread now, as I've got my FET scheduled for next THUR 03 JUL. Like @Timetotryagain, my lining is 8mm and I'm triggering ovulation tonight.

I feel like it's been such a milestone to get here (36 y/o gay lady, going through IVF for the first time with my partner). Completed a Mild protocol for egg collection in May and mid way through my Natural FET cycle, with ovitrelle trigger. Our Day 3 Grade 2 embryo will be cultured to Day 5 and then popped back in, if everything goes to plan!

I've told quite a lot of people at work- they've been so good about it. I've also taken three days off before the transfer so I can chill. I get why you might be worried about missing out on work opportunities though. My reason for telling them was to protect myself from getting inundated with work stress/heavy workloads.

SummerSolstice25 · 26/06/2025 16:55

I didn’t say anything at work. I mostly work remotely and I’ve been getting away with my appointments unnoticed. We haven’t told anyone at all, we don’t want all the questions. We’d rather deal with it privately if we can.

Bejewelled19 · 26/06/2025 19:52

I have told work as I sometimes have to travel and didn’t want the awkward conversation on why I can’t. Plus I didn’t know how I would cope so if I’m not on my ‘A’ game at least they know why. I totally understand the worry about getting passed on opportunities though and often worry if I’ve don’t the right thing. So tricky isn’t. Lucky they have been supportive and just said take whatever time you need.

Mrsbutterfly24 · 26/06/2025 22:23

Hello ladies, Sadly ivf round 3 for me following two early miscarriages from the last round. I have pco and adenomyosis so this time we are going to try a long lupron down reg before the next transfer assuming we can get some good blasts from this collection round. On the last couple of days of Norethisterone so hoping for period and stims start first week of July 🤞

Miraclemuma03 · 27/06/2025 01:36

How is everyone going? Iv lost track already. Il have to go back and read a few posts.

Finally day 1 today. All fees fully paid now and meds paid for and ordered. Just waiting for my plan to be emailed. I start the pill tomorrow for 10days and then pick up meds at some point and go through said plan. Finally we can sort of get started. On top of all that, we had to rush our cat to the vet yesterday who couldnt be treated at the local clinic so had to go to the next big town for treatment and they have quoted us $3000, so we are hoping we can just put down a deposit and pay the rest off over next month just so we dont drain the bank accounts completely. Everything all happens at once. How stressful

Timetotryagain · 27/06/2025 07:11

Morning,

I have my very nearly peak/ peak LH test this morning so looks like probably 3rd July transfer!

@ALittleExpressive yeah it makes sense why you would tell them plus means you dont have to sneak around booking scans like me haha! How was your trigger shot?

@SummerSolstice25 i totally get not wanting to tell anyone. We have told a few people but we also already have 1 child (conceived after many years of infertility) so its not as if people would be shocked to hear we are wanting another etc!

@Bejewelled19 yeah its such a tricky balance isnt it between keeping cards close to your heart and then wanting to be open and honest and telling work!

@Miraclemuma03 i remember you from the mar/ apr thread 💕 so sorry to hear your cat is poorly as well :(

@Mrsbutterfly24 sorry to hear about your losses and wishing you luck for this cycle!

SummerSolstice25 · 27/06/2025 09:27

Should I have any side effects or should I feel any different on Pergoveris? I don’t feel anything out of the ordinary yet anyway. I have been YouTubing the next injection, Cetrotide which I take on Sunday morning and people really seem to dislike that one!

Miraclemuma03 · 27/06/2025 10:26

@Timetotryagain hi! I remember you too! Good luck for your transfer.
