July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Timetotryagain OMG, so exciting!! Congratulations 😄

VioIetMoon · 08/07/2025 22:19

@magpie234 might be worth checking with your clinic .
When I did my last ivf round 2 years ago I wasn't having periods and day 1 was counted as my withdrawal bleed from using norithistherone

This time around my periods are very regular but they still have me taking the contraceptive pill which when I start stims it will be on day 1 of the bleed from that

DeeKel · 08/07/2025 22:55

@Timetotryagain huge congrats!!!
@ALittleExpressive well done for having the willpower not to test. As much as I tell myself every time not to test early I end up testing ridiculously early and driving myself demented.
@TammySue welcome and best of luck with your cycle. I’m TTC number 2.
@PlanBFertility hope you are feeling ok, I think cramping is really common especially after the procedure so try not to worry.

Hi,

New here.
CD1 and got the go ahead to start stims tomorrow morning. DH is away and I’ve been prescribed the ovaleap pen so I’ve just been trying to work it out. Luckily he is home tomorrow and has no more travel booked for the foreseeable so I’ll have a more grown up grown-up to help!

Not sure if there’s a different thread I should be on or if other people are ttc here who already have a child(ren)? We are ttc our third and I don’t want to come across as insensitive…

Welcome and congrats. No there are lots of woman who are trying for more. I have lots of kids and would like one more but unfortunely it might not happen for us. It doesnt matter how many kids you have, the journey is tough to extend your family or even begin it, especially if you have to go through ivf to make your dreams of another baby happen. Good luck on your stims. I should be starting mine on the 13th, so im going to be pretty behind most of the ladies here.

@ALittleExpressive my partner was the same but i just had a moment of impulsivness, went to the shop and did it in secret and then i said to him "you might be annnoyed at me but look at this" nahah

@magpie234 yeah the ones not going through the physical process probsbly dont think of it every second of the day but we do haha!

My clinic otd is 13dp5dt which seems super late!!!

You sneaky secret tester!! XD

I'm feeling fine today, thanks @Timetotryagain . Still, like, no other symptoms than that light cramping on 1DP really. I have, though, had lots of personal stories from my friends and you roll in this week that validate you can get pregs with essentially no symptoms. That hope is so encouraging.

@ALittleExpressive Next major date is whenever my period decides to show up so I can start again (not due till 19th tbf). But we have a consultation next Thursday to talk through next steps (will be a natural/natural modified cycle). Today I also booked us in for an appointment with a respected urologist and got one in a month. So even if my period throws a spanner in the works we will still feel like we are moving forward even if not with ivf. Urologist so expensive though and not on NHS or covered by health insurance… sob!

So when is 9 days post for you then and are you going to test then do you think?

Edited

Ohhh I really hear you on the need to feel like you're progressing forward, even if it's in an IVF-adjacent kinda way. Just having little milestones in the calendar can feel so good, hey. Sucks that urology is so expensive for you guys... the whole investment in this is exorbitant, isn't it.

I reckon we'll test this coming Sunday (9DP), or at latest, Monday morning. Just gotta pencil in some fun distractions in the meantime!

@Splishsplashsplosh93 wow, great work well done!

Ive ruled myself out - 2dp5dt and keep getting cramps. Almost spasms.

ALittleExpressive · 09/07/2025 17:01

@Splishsplashsplosh93 that's a ton of eggs! How exciting! Take care in the EC aftermath.

@PlanBFertility do you mean you think this cycle has been unsuccessful? Because of the cramps? I think abdominal twinges can be a good sign, no?

Timetotryagain · 09/07/2025 17:06

@PlanBFertility i had LOADS of cramps 2dpt - 4dpt and still mild cramps every now on again. Its so normal so dont count yourself out!

@ALittleExpressive how are you feeling in yourself? Are you getting any side effects from the progesterone?

@Miraclemuma03 hopefully you are feeling better now you arent on the pill anymore!

Timetotryagain · 09/07/2025 17:06

@Splishsplashsplosh93 excellent number!!!!! Hopefully you get a good update tomorrow

I'm actually getting no side effects from the progesterone- I'm pretty grateful for that. Mentally and physically good... just still no real symptoms, guh! I'll tell you what though, I'm so happy my work has died down a little this month. It's totally helped with my stress levels, so gives me the best chance to nail IVF.

I'm actually off to buy HPT this arve, which I'm excited about. Still not testing early, but thought it'd be fun to feel like I'm progressing in some weird way XD

ALittleExpressive · 09/07/2025 17:34

@Timetotryagain are you planning any more HPT before OTD??

Timetotryagain · 09/07/2025 17:43

@ALittleExpressive yeah thats really exciting for you! And i guess the first time you will have bought pregnancy tests being a same sex couple :D

I took one again today and the line was darker which was good. Probably will wait now till OTD and then retest on the day

RainbowFluff · 09/07/2025 18:40

@PlanBFertility cramping could be a good sign, I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I found the progesterone gave me lots of random possible pregnancy symptoms but also sometimes AF symptoms as well.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 that’s a great number of eggs, were you feeling big towards the end? I’ve never had that many and I feel enormous right before EC.

@PlanBFertility try to relax. Cramping is normal. I was told its the embryo trying to implant. I had cramping after my transfer and I got a bfp. In fact I'd terrible cramping for weeks into the pregnancy and honestly thought the worst that AF was imminent

magpie234 · 09/07/2025 22:53

So I appreciate others have more exciting news atm (ie BFP or PUPO!) and I am behind but I just got a positive ovulation test! So my cycle is kicking back into gear again after coming off my medicated FET estrogen - just a week late (I took the estrogen for a week so fair enough!). So I will hopefully now get my period in a couple of weeks and then be able to start my nat/mod nat FET :)

Early morning for me tomorrow. Have to leave home at around 6.30am to get to my clinic around 8.30am, have my first bloods and pick up my medications. I should be starting stims on the 13th. I definitely have not been drinking enough water thr last couple of weeks. Hopefully I can get on top of that before EC.

This is great!! I also feel a little behind everyone else. I wont have a potential transfer until the 30th of July if all goes to plan.

magpie234 · 10/07/2025 07:41

@Miraclemuma03 Starting so soon now then hopefully! How are you feeling about it?

@Splishsplashsplosh93 It will be yes. I had one failed fresh transfer back in April. Now have 3 frozen to transfer (one at a time I think they will say!). Great news about your EC results. Loads of luck for the embryology updates and hope you feel better physically soon too - sounds horrible! I have a slightly lower than average ovarian reserve apparently and got 7. But good results from those so even though I cried when they could only see 5 follicles on my scan I ended up pleased. Such a rollercoaster!

@PlanBFertility I also think the cramping sounds positive as most people who have success seem to have at least a bit of that!

Miraclemuma03 · 10/07/2025 07:55

@magpie234 trying to stay positive but you know what its like. All the worst case scenarios run through the mind when you have already had failures. Just going to worry about the now and today's and just make it to each step without thinking too far ahead.
