July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

He had to book and pay for another flight but is here in time 😅.
just want it to be morning time now so I know how it’s gone. I hate all of the waiting.

joining in here! Had my follicle scan earlier at day 8 of stims, I think there was only one big one. Back this week for another scan so we will see but I am realistically wondering how much larger they will grow in 36 hours. Potentially egg collection next week but I guess it really depends on next scan. Feeling a bit low but also trying to accept it’s the very beginning of the journey

@StorkVisit How was your EC? I hope it all went well. I had a uterine scratch last week so just on the countdown for ovulation now (and my cold is finally clearing up!).

@IndigoBluey welcome! It’s fairly quiet here as we all had treatment in July but you’re very welcome to join. Have you looked at the threads for October and November treatment?

welcome @IndigoBluey, the wait in between scans I find the longest and hardest, hope you’re filling your time with things you enjoy.

@RainbowFluff glad your cold is clearing up! Does this mean you’ll be going for transfer this month? :)

I’m now on 25mcg of thyroxine for my thyroid and have a planning appt on 28th for the my next round - trying not to wish time away!

@Bloop123, thankbyou. I was slightly disappointed to be honest. I had 11 large follicles but when it came to egg collection, there were only 5 collected. I ovulated early so half were lost.
yesterday the embryologist phoned to say , 3 fertilised so I’m praying that we have a positive call tomorrow.
@RainbowFluff hope this month is positive.
@IndigoBluey welcome! This is a lovely group. We’ve all been invested in each other doing well. I did contemplate joining the October/ November group but I feel like I’ve got to know these people. Hope you get some good news soon and you can go for egg collection.

I won't be transferring until early Feb now. First attempt after EC on the 1st of August. It's such a long time but my cycles collided a bit with work and holiday and we don't want to transfer too close to Christmas so Feb it is. Eek! Can't believe it's been 3 months since stims and scans!

@Bloop123 I hope so, scan today showed that my lining is ready. Waiting for ovulation which should be the middle of next week. So much waiting!

@IndigoBluey do you have a date for your EC yet?

@RainbowFluff That’s sounds positive! :) out of interest what thickness do your clinic want your lining? Mine was only 6.7mm at my last trigger, and I’m wondering if this was too thin.

@RainbowFluffi jumped over to the Oct thread (hadn’t realised there was one) thanks @StorkVisitafter 3 scan this week, follicles still not grown to the needed size. I’m back this week and then we will make a plan. I’m very much expecting a no go ahead for EC this time around (it’s my first protocol so I’ve not really any idea) I’m presuming that if they haven’t grown over the weekend then I will stops the stims and perhaps try another protocol next cycle? Bit of a thought but I guess that’s the journey of it all.

@Bloop123 I’m not sure they measured it, they might not as they always say at the mid cycle scan it’s already over the minimum. One thing I don’t have to worry about! I do have heavy periods so I assume my thick lining is why.

I hope everybody is doing ok. I’ve started steroids and blood thinners now so it’s all starting to seem real, and going in tomorrow for more blood tests to hopefully get a transfer date (I’m on CD17 now so hoping for transfer early next week).

@RainbowFluff that’s so exciting. I wish you luck!
@IndigoBluey hope they grow. If the protocol isn’t right, is rather start again early ish than pay for EC.
im waiting for my period and then I’ll have a transfer on CD17 or CD19. Hope the meds work as I’m back in Greece in November for it. Don’t want to leave my tiny embryo behind in Greece if I can help it.

@IndigoBluey did your cycle work out ok or did you have to cancel? Sometimes that’s better than going through the egg collection etc when it’s not the outcome you wanted. I always hated the recovery from egg collection!

I have 3 day-3 embryos on board since Saturday so I’m in the TWW. I don’t feel too bad yet as I know it’s so early to look for symptoms but I think by the end of the week it will be hard!

i started taking oestrogen tablets yesterday and have a scan on the 12th!

@RainbowFluffmy cycle got cancelled last week due to follicles not responding. They noted it was very unusual and were surprised due to my high AMH and so I am going to start again on a higher dose and see how I go. Ideally I’d like to start this month but just depends when / if period arrives, as if not before end of the month it will go into the New Year. I’m just trying to get a sense of what I can do differently this time to help things along. That is exciting you have 3 embryos transferred!

my next round is now booked in for January 6th, so I may be on a similar timeline to you @IndigoBluey if you do go into the new year. Waiting patiently for my next TSH blood test at the end of this month to see if that’s lowered to a good level.

How is everybody doing? The TWW is driving me crazy, it is so hard. I haven’t had any symptoms yet so I’m convinced it hasn’t worked but my PT isn’t until Thursday next week.

I’ve heard lots of people get a positive test with no symptoms at all! Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞are you managing to do some nice things and keep yourself busy?

if you don’t mind me asking, are the steroids for inflammation? I have constant pelvic pain as I think I have endo, so wondering if it would help me x

@Bloop123 I am obsessing about all the stories of people who had no symptoms at the moment but I can’t quite convince myself that it’s going to be positive. I had immune testing with my clinic and some of the levels were raised so I’m on the steroids for that.

@RainbowFluff I can see why your worried but I don’t think you’ll know until the test or you get your period. No news is good news. Did you transfer 3? The odds are in your favour.
we only have one embryo to transfer. I have a scan to check on my lining tomorrow.

@StorkVisit I transferred 3 but they were day 3 embryos so it might be none of them would have made it to day 5. My progesterone levels have been dropping so I think I’m out for this cycle, the clinic have upped my medication to balance it out but I don’t think tomorrow will be good news.

It’s hard to stay positive sometimes. You can never tell what will happen. All three of ours looked good on day 3 but one made it to day 5 and you only need 1.
I’ve planned what I plan to do if it doesn’t work though I’m aware this might not work for you.

how did your lining scan go @StorkVisit ?

My lining is good. It was 9.9cm on day 13. I’ve started on 3 pessaries a day and a progesterone injection.
I also had a TSH blood test. TSH levels were slightly elevated so I’ve got some tablets for that too.
Transfer is booked for Wednesday. I fly tomorrow morning. Please wish me luck
