July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

Just dropping a message to check in. I’m so happy to see so many have their next steps planned. Wishing you all the very best of luck and hoping that you will be snuggling a little bundle of joy in the near future.

I think I’m ok with my decision to not go again although those two frozen embryos will haunt me for some time and I can’t let them go anytime soon. I was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency so ultimately I will need surgery and I will continue to get clots until I do. The doc said if the pregnancy had continued or if I was to get pregnant that it would be higher risk for my health but also that it could impact the placenta and developing baby so that kind of helped solidify my decision. I won’t put myself at risk even if just a little as I’m a solo mammy to my little girl and she needs me in the here and now.

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Hi @DeeKel I was just thinking about you the other day. I am glad you were able to make the decision that feels best for you given the circumstances. And no need for anything final regarding the embryos you never know how things develop medically. Wishing you and your little girl all the best!

RainbowFluff · 10/09/2025 22:13

Hi everyone, I’ve been back at work two weeks and it’s been a real whirlwind! My last week of summer holidays was super busy catching up with all the jobs I had put off during the ivf cycle. I had an appointment with the clinic yesterday and they’ve decided I don’t need immunotherapy at the moment, it means in theory I can start the transfer process with my period next week which was a bit of a shock. I assumed I’d have to wait until October so I could still do that but now wondering whether to just push ahead.

StorkVisit · 11/09/2025 08:38

@DeeKel can see why you’ve made the decision you have! Good to have all the facts before making choices. It’s not an easy decision but sounds like the right one.
I started my period a couple of days ago so now have my dates to go to Greece! I’m excited and nervous. It feels difficult trying to predict my period and so I’ve opted to go for 3 weeks to try to be there in case it’s early or late!
For those of you who have had a frozen transfer, when do they normally do this? The clinic I use only do frozen transfers. Just wondering when that might be! I’ve asked the clinic and I’m impatient!
@RainbowFluff how exciting! Hope this is your month!

Pinguino24 · 11/09/2025 14:03

@StorkVisit how exciting! I am just preparing for my first FET as well. I understands it depends how the lining develops throughout the cycle. But assuming it is looking good at the day 15 scan, my transfer will be on day 21/22 of my cycle. They can play with the timing a bit as I'm doing a fully medicated cycle. Are you doing natural or medicated?

RainbowFluff · 11/09/2025 14:19

@DeeKel It sounds like you’re making the right choice. I totally see what you mean about the frozen embryos, it’s so hard to know when to stop. But you have your precious little one to think of too.

@StorkVisit They said day 23/24 for me, but might change depending on the scans. I do naturally ovulate quite late in my cycle so they might be accounting for that.

DeeKel · 11/09/2025 18:13

Thanks for the support everyone.
Im so excited to read the new updates!! @RainbowFluff thats a nice suprise to know you can start earlier- are you happy with the decision they made about the immunotherapy? @Pinguino24 that’s so exciting, the waits to each stage feel like the longest until you get to the next one and have to wait all over again!@StorkVisit Hopefully you will get to enjoy those 3 weeks over there and it’s better not to be stressed out about timing.
Best of luck with all the FETs, I’ll eagerly be awaiting updates!

I’ve been told that I’ll have progesterone pessaries and injections to prepare for my transfer but I don’t know what that means in terms of timings.
work still haven’t approved my leave.i feel stressed today as I want to book my flights now

Pinguino24 · 13/09/2025 13:33

@StorkVisit can you ask your clinic for a copy of the protocol they will put you on? Mine involves Cetrotide injections for the first 7 days, oral oestrogen and patches from day 3 and then once my lining is thick enough (from day 15 onwards) they add in 5 days of progesterone injections before transfer.

StorkVisit · 16/09/2025 21:17

I’ve been told transfer will be on approximately day 17-19. It’s a while off yet since the plan is egg retrieval in October and a frozen transfer in November.
cant wait for things to get moving. Egg retrieval should be on or around the 20th October. 🤪

Bloop123 · 17/09/2025 18:20

Hello! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA for a while. @StorkVisit thats exciting that you’ve got dates! Mines also going to be in November now, planned egg retrieval week on 24th Nov. And then fresh transfer.

i just got my debrief letter through from the other clinic today. They said based on the last results she’d give us a 20% chance of conceiving with another round. I’ve always known odds are against us, but it’s hit me quite hard seeing that in writing. I’m so terrified that we won’t be able to conceive, it’s all I really want :( sorry for a bit of a down note, I just know you will all understand! xx

StorkVisit · 17/09/2025 22:28

@Bloop123 around a similar time to me.
Will your clinic do a double transfer? Mine have said if the blastocyst quality is excellent, they’ll transfer 1. If not, they’ll transfer 2. maybe that’s a way to increase your chances?

Bloop123 · 18/09/2025 17:39

Thank you, that’s a good idea, I think I’ll deffo ask for a double transfer if I get two and they’re of average quality 🤞 they’ve also agreed for me to have progesterone injections which makes me feel a bit reassured! Did your work agree your leave? Xx

StorkVisit · 18/09/2025 18:23

I got the leave agreed two days ago! It’s been so stressful.
life has been stressful and it feels like the right time to focus on myself and have a 3 week break.
for me, a double embryo transfer feels like the right thing to do (depending on quality).
Care won’t offer a double transfer. Apparently they only offer this at aged 40. I’m glad my clinic do. It feels like a more personalised approach.

StorkVisit · 01/10/2025 20:57

Hi everyone! I fly to Greece on Saturday to start stims. Is anyone restarting ivf in October?

ALittleExpressive · 02/10/2025 05:57

@StorkVisit hey there! Oh, very cool to hear that you'll be flying to Greece. My friend flew to Greece and got her whole IVF package done in one hit (collection and transfer) and it worked on her first attempt. Very happy for her.

I'll be restarting this month too with a natural protocol FET. I'm going to pop over to the OCT thread once I'm closer to transfer day :)

RainbowFluff · 04/10/2025 16:12

@StorkVisit so glad you’ve been able to sort the time off, good luck with stims and I hope you have lovely weather too 😁

@Bloop123 20% is still a chance, I will keep everything crossed for you. Definitely keep us updated about how it goes in November.

I ended up delaying my transfer as I had a family member pass away and had a few busy weekends of travelling to the hospital. It’s been a tough time but I’m definitely going ahead on my next cycle, my AF is due on 13th October so not long to go!

Bloop123 · 05/10/2025 16:44

@StorkVisit and @ALittleExpressive good luck for this month! And I hope it’s nice and warm in Greece and you’re having a lovely time in the lead up. Have you started stims yet?

@RainbowFluff sorry to hear about your family member, hope you’re doing okay. Not long now for your next transfer, sending lots of hope!

Ive just had some thyroid bloods and my TSH results came back high (6.9), so need to get that treated. Which is a bit of a bummer if delays my round booked for November, but I’m hoping maybe it’s another piece of the fertility puzzle? Not that it would affect my amh levels.

xxx

ALittleExpressive · 05/10/2025 16:52

@Bloop123 oh that's a healthy way to look at it (another piece of the fertility puzzle). Hope the treatment is not too hard or expensive and that you can get back on track soon enough x

RainbowFluff · 14/10/2025 12:48

@StorkVisit how is your cycle going?

@Bloop123 it’s definitely worth getting everything you can in top shape before the transfer.

I might have to delay as I’ve had a rotten cold for a week now and still not feeling better. Although my AF hasn’t come yet so 3 weeks away from transfer but online there are mixed ideas about whether it might affect success to have had a viral infection. I had a cold before my transfer in October last year and it didn’t stick so I’m worried but also so ready to crack on after all this waiting.

StorkVisit · 14/10/2025 15:36

Hi @RainbowFluff thank you for asking. I had a scan yesterday and had more follicles than last time. I’ve got at least 9. Had 7 last time. The doctor said everything is on track.
The protocol is different here. Injections (half strength) and then a tablet.
i was a bit worried as the doctor said my partner’s flight was booked too late and we had to fit in a meeting with a notary too.
Hope the right way forwards becomes clear

StorkVisit · 18/10/2025 13:57

Hi,
I’ve got egg collection on Monday. I had 7 follicles last time and have 10/11 so im
deciding to be positive.
please wish me luck!

RainbowFluff · 19/10/2025 16:13

@StorkVisit will be thinking of you tomorrow, good luck! 🤞

RainbowFluff · 19/10/2025 16:13

Did you get everything sorted with the flight?
