July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Splishsplashsplosh93 yes! But some could definitely be the FET meds 🤣 nausea sometimes, tired most days, sore boobs. Also have light cramps quite a bit. I had a small bit of brown discharge a couple days last week and then Friday night in the middle of the night I had pink spotting which was really scary but it was only for like one wipe then stopped. There’s a chance it could be to do with the vaginal pessaries. What about you? I don’t have my first scan til 7w + 1.

MotherOfShihTzus · 03/08/2025 19:42

@GamerGirl09my preference is the have the scan 7+ if you can hack the wait; much more likely to get a heartbeat :) x

RainbowFluff · 03/08/2025 19:47

Oh wow great to hear about everyone’s symptoms. Fingers crossed for many more positive tests. It’s so difficult to know what is from the medication, I’m on a massive dose of progesterone at the moment and my sense of smell has gone crazy. I swear I can tell if anyone in the entire tube carriage has been eating garlic!

StorkVisit · 03/08/2025 20:45

I’m really pleased that everyone seems to be getting good news!
@Miraclemuma03 did you have your transfer on Wednesday like me.?

Miraclemuma03 · 03/08/2025 22:24

@StorkVisit yes i did! we are transfer buddies! How are you going. We are 5dp5dt today and im not sure when I should test. Iv had a positive in the past on this day but I also know its too early

Miraclemuma03 · 04/08/2025 01:52

Looks like it may not have worked for me unfortunately. I stupidly tested today when I said id wait for day 7 and I didnt. It looks pretty negative besides maybe a gaslighting indent line I can see if I hold the test up to the light. I was in such a happy place and its all come crashing down. In previous transfers I tested this early and gotten a positive test and i just knew it haf worked so thought that might have been the case today. I really thought it worked, I feel so stupid now.

Timetotryagain · 04/08/2025 02:43

@Miraclemuma03 my 5dp5dt positive was suuuuuuuper faint so it could just be ever so slightly too early 🙏🙏

I was feeling quite relaxed about the whole thing. Yesterday my stomach was ever so slightly crampy.
Woke up at 3:30 with diarrhoea and can’t stop worrying.

StorkVisit · 04/08/2025 08:18

@Miraclemuma03 I’ve been tempted to test. I think I’d do as others suggest and take a test in a few days. Are you using the first response early detection?
I’ve read about lots of people who tested at this stage and went on to get positives later.

Miraclemuma03 · 04/08/2025 08:43

@StorkVisit yeah I only ever use first response. Both morning and afternoon tests were negative. I feel defeated. I dont think its worked. Il test tomorrow morning and if still negative im giving up testing. My beta is on the 12th.

RainbowFluff · 04/08/2025 08:47

@Miraclemuma03 Don’t give up hope yet, it’s still early days.

I’ve just finished egg collection number 2, glad to have it over with! Another 7 eggs which is less than I’d hoped for, it’s been 15 days of stims so I had really had enough by the end. I had a lower than usual fertilisation rate with the first half of this cycle so hopefully it will be better this time 🤞

StorkVisit · 04/08/2025 08:54

@RainbowFluff, best of luck for the next few days!
@Miraclemuma03, hope you get your positive soon

GamerGirl09 · 04/08/2025 09:17

@MotherOfShihTzus 😄 yeah my first scan at 7 + 1 which is next week but I’m driving myself crazy every day 🤣

@RainbowFluff vampiric symptoms 🤔🤣 Good luck with the culturing!

@Splishsplashsplosh93 Awh that must have been so scary for you. Glad you’ve had nothing in the last 4 days. I’m overanalysing every cramp and scared to go to the loo 🤣 just want this next 6 weeks to fly by then I can relax a little bit

@Miraclemuma03 I got a negative on FRER at 5dp5dt but very faint positives on cheapos, the FRER came up positive for me at 6dp5dt. Fingers crossed for you x

Bloop123 · 04/08/2025 09:32

@Miraclemuma03 still very early days, my friend has recently gone through ivf and she got her first positive at 8dpt.

i stupidly used a clear blue early response yesterday too, and felt like I could see a squinty line but my partner v much brought me down to earth and couldn’t see a thing! This morning that same test has a faint blue line - would this just be an evaporation line? I know I can’t count that as a positive. I’m trying to resist testing again!

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/08/2025 09:41

Did you happen to take any pics @Bloop123? Before it dried and after?

Bloop123 · 04/08/2025 10:04

This is a photo from this morning, so after dried. The only thing that’s made me question it is that the line is definitely blue, and I thought evap lines were grey. I know wont really know until I test again but I’m going to try to resist for a few days!

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/08/2025 10:57

I’m hopefully for you @Bloop123! I can see why you’re apprehensive, these tests are notorious! But, there’s thickness to the line which is a good sign. Can you get hold of any FRERs? Really hoping for you!

Pinguino24 · 04/08/2025 13:35

@RainbowFluff well done on such a long slog! You never know, they might all be great quality. Fingers crossed.
@Bloop123 that looks pretty promising to me but I haven't used Clearblue much so not an expert!
@Miraclemuma03 I've got everything crossed for you. It's still early days!

Pinguino24 · 04/08/2025 13:36

Can I ask for anyone that did a frozen transfer, what was the timing between your last egg collection and the transfer? I won't see my doctor until we get the PGT results so won't have a chance to ask her until then.

Hey, I haven’t done my transfer yet but —

EC - 11th June
PGT-A results - 3rd July
Embryo transfer approximately schedule for 15th august

so I guess just over 2 months?

Pinguino24 · 04/08/2025 14:05

@Hopeandfaith1990 thanks so much! What drove the timing mainly? Was it to let your system calm down, or to fit in with your natural cycle?

Good question - I’m not really sure there was much plan with it, but the PGTA was obviously important and I think by the time they’d come back I’d already got my period, so I then had to wait for the next cycle to start the prep for transfer? I’m doing a medicated cycle so obvs all the timing for that is really specific and controlled xx I think it would be marginally sooner if I was doing natural transfer

GamerGirl09 · 04/08/2025 15:33

@Pinguino24 I had EC 21/05 and FET 14/07. Clinic said I could have gone ahead in June cycle but I had a holiday booked so went ahead July
