July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@MotherOfShihTzus I tested out my HCG trigger and once that was negative I got my BFP on 5dp5dt

Tested positive! I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much as I’ve been here before; but I’m hopeful! Hoping for the same results for everyone ❤️

Thats great news!! Congratulations! I definitely understand guarding your heart, I know too well the things that can go wrong but my advice is to celebrate the moment and another milestone.

I’m on the way to the clinic for my morning blood test, yawn! They said I will trigger either today or tomorrow so the end is in sight. Dual stim is every bit as tiring as they say, I feel like it’s been going on forever.

I’ve had on and off cramping since transfer on Tues (not a surprise as I have suspected endo), but I also got a tiny bit of brown spotting yesterday, seems to have stopped today. Do you think this is a bad sign? Trying to stay positive, but I know it’s far too early for any implantation bleeding.

Congrats to all that are PUPO and getting one their BFPs. Im hoping the positive news continues and that the TWW go quickly for all.
@RainbowFluff are you planning to do a fresh transfer as part of this round or are you freezing/ testing? Hopefully you get the go ahead today for trigger
@Bloop123 cramping and brown spotting 1-2 days after transfer is likely just due to the transfer procedure so try not worry although I know that is easier said than done.
I have egg collection in 5hrs!!

@Bloop123 definitely wouldn’t worry. I asked the doctor at my transfer what should do and also what was expected.
she said spotting after the procedure was totally normal.
@DeeKel best of love luck. Hope you get a few good quality eggs. I took paracetamol and codeine. Had pain and cramping once the meds wore off and codeine helped. Needed that the night of and next day!

@DeeKel good luck with your egg collection! I can’t do a fresh transfer because of dual stim, it takes a few weeks for everything to settle down. Then of course with my clinic there are lots of pre transfer tests. I’m working towards October transfer which is fine by me, I feel like I need a break from IVF after this month!

@Bloop123 are you taking any progesterone? This can also produce some spotting, espeically if your progesterone gets nice and high also this can be the cause of the cramping.Try not to panic just yet. There can be all sorts of reason for spotting but it could be coming from the cervix and not the uterus. Just keep doing what your doing, keep your mind occupied, rest when you feel you need too, but dont sloth around, keep blood flowing.

@Miraclemuma03 yes I did. I'm actually waiting for egg collection this morning. I'm feeling more hopeful this time. I'm my last round I only had 3 follicles that resulted in 3 eggs - only 1 made it to pgta testing and was mosaic, so nothing that could be transferred. I had 11 follicles on my scan on Wednesday so I'm hoping we get better results this time!

A quick update - we have two blastocysts ready to biopsy! A third one might make it later this afternoon! The other four are looking less likely but we will wait until tomorrow to see if they develop.
They are now thawing the 2 from our last cycle to biopsy those as well. So here's hoping for 4 or 5 to biopsy in total, which will hopefully result in one genetically normal embryo!

Hi ladies, did any of you trigger with buserelin?

@VioIetMoon I did purely buserelin in my second cycle, and fourth cycle I had a dual trigger with a small amount of it.

I’m currently taking Buserelin in preparation for a frozen transfer x

Hi all, EC all done. Unfortunately the sedatives did not work properly so it was not the most pleasant experience to put mildly but they got 11 eggs. Hoping I get some good news tomorrow and that I have mature ones in there that fertilise.
@VioIetMoon i did a dual trigger with buserelin and HCG. It was to try improve my maturity rate. I think buserelin would be given on it own if there is a risk of OHSS but im sure there are loads of other reasons too.

@DeeKel sorry your EC was uncomfortable, 🤞you have good results tomorrow.
Unfortunately mine wasn't great. Even with 11 follicles they only got 3 eggs, they called this evening to let us know only 1 was mature so have used icsi with that one and will let us know if it fertilises tomorrow. I'm quite disappointed as leaving up to today things looked much better this round.

I’m so sorry you are disappointed and it’s completely understandable. I will be crossing my fingers that you your embryo makes it all the way through. In my first round I had 18 follicles, 11 collected and only 4 mature. I got two blasts and that first transfer is my 2 year old. So I will be hoping you have a similar happy story from this one little embryo ❤️
