July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Timetotryagain yes epu = egg pick up. Sorry thats what my clinic say/ shorten too.

I got a voicemail from my clinic and now im fully confused and don't know what to think. My hormone levels were good, apparently where they should be. Keep doing what im doing and go back wednesday for more scans and bloods and they will have more information for me about EC. What a head f@#k!!!! When I saw the follicles on the scan they looked alright to me until the nurse told me il very likely not go for egg pick up on friday. I dont know what to make out of today and very confused on how the rest of this cycle is going to go.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 how exciting!!! Congratulations. Do you get beta hcg bloods or you juat confirm with a hpt?

@Miraclemuma03 im sorry it was a hard appt, and such a long drive after, hope you’re feeling okay. That sounds like a more positive voicemail though, will keep fingers crossed for you.

I’ve got to take my trigger tonight for an egg collection on Wednesday , they could only see 4 lead follicles at my scan this morning. And then two smaller ones at 13mm and 14mm - do you think these two stand a chance at this size now that I’m triggering? All very nerve wracking xx

@Miraclemuma03 are they going to change the dose of medication for you or anything? Hope there’s something they can do to speed those follicles up.

@VioIetMoon It’s artificial oocyte activation. Initially for fertilisation failure which we don’t have thank goodness, but as a side effect it increases embryos getting to day 5 which is our issue.

@Splishsplashsplosh93 I’m on day 3 of the second part of the cycle already. First blood test tomorrow, and I don’t have to go to the clinic every day like before which is a result. They also said I might not need cetrotide which is also a massive bonus so I’m feeling quite cheerful!

@Splishsplashsplosh93 yes i live between bush and farming land so the city is 2hrs from me. There is a clinic in a place called Toowoomba which is 50 mins from me but we decided to stick with the clinic we knew.

The earliest to see anything is around 5w5d but you might not see heartbeat and only a sack.

@RainbowFluff no meds change or anything. Have to wait for wednesday now. It will go fast enough as today for tuesday I have housework to catch up on and floors to do and my scans and bloods are at 8am so another 6am leave on wednesday morning. Though I think il leave earlier as I was 40 mins late after being stuck in traffic for 40mins.

Hoping it's not too late for me to join. I've read your messages and it seems like a lovely supportive group here!
I'm in the middle of my second round of stims. I did my first round last month and ended up with two blasts on day 5 which we froze. I'm 40, so we are trying to get 4-6 embryos and then do PGT-A as I've had two miscarriages this year and the doctor advises it's likely due to genetic abnormalities due to my age.
My first scan this round looked more promising than last - I had 11 follicles above 5mm, whereas last cycle I had 8 (I ended up with 8 mature eggs from that cycle). However today I had my second scan and I can't help but worry things are not progressing as well as last cycle because the follicle growth seems slower than last cycle. Last cycle those 8 follicles were 11mm or bigger at this point, but this time there's only 4 follicles at that size with 5 more in the 9-11mm range.
I probably sound totally mad trying to analyse it so much, but I find it hard not to compare and try to predict how things will go!
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had any similar worries? Thanks!
